I like how all the ARMA vets immediately start putting it together that they are in a training exercise.
Yup, when I played I realized there was no whistle on the mortars and they were too inaccurate. Made me figure it was training. Def confirmed it once the bluebells shot me in the back of course

Except for slavs they use blue tape everywhere
Alot of times we'll use colored tape to differentiate mags between squads/ platoons. It's easy to tell when your firing blanks, there's a special adapter you put at the end of the barrel.
It connects to the barrel to stop a live round in case of ammunition contamination, I was told it can stop 5-6 5.56mm rounds
@@lars5138 you were misinformed. the blank firing adapter is to allow gas build up to cycle the bolt. because there is no projectile if the BFA was not installed gasses would escape and not be pushed back through the gas system to cycle.

Played this last night for the first time and the way he just skips all the explanations to completely new things and always knows where the enemy is gonna come from gave it away for me. Modafinil is crazy useful as a non-amphetamine way of staying awake and alert when sleep isn't an option, and last I checked it was being pretty extensively vetted for military use. Neat to see detail work like that in a game that takes place in the near future (but then again, what else do we expect from an ArmA game?).
I'm kinda expecting that some of the devs are using modafinil as well as it is easily available.

@@uzi6497 to put it in simple terms, smart people put together current events, military readiness, nuclear tests shit like that, and use that data to determine how close the human race is to killing itself off. It's measured in hours to midnight, midnight being the apocalypse. Right now irl we are at 2 minutes to midnight which means that if shit doesn't change we are REALLY CLOSE to ending it all.

I love how they came out with this after the *Area 51* raid. Its awesome they seen the potential of having a single player campaign where aliens come to invade lol. Loving this campaign so far.
As an old school Operation Flashpoint (original 2000s) player who doesn't currently own a PC I must thank you for recording this gameplay. That was pretty epic. The devs built up the suspense perfectly. I will be following this series.
I can already imagine how this will turn out in Womble's videos....

Dumb mistake in translation. He said "Wiem, że nie znałeś Polski" and it means " I know you didn't know Poland" .It can not be translated as "I know you didn't know polish", becasue it is negative sentence, so we use "polskiego" instead of "polski" . This should be "I know you know polish" which should be translated as "Wiem, że znasz polski" .
@@ardex9677 That's all completely wrong. He says "Wiem, że liznąłeś Polski! Odpowiedz! Zacznij wreszcie gadać!" Which translating exactly would be, as a guy earlier stated "I know you licked some polish! Answer me! Start talking already!" "Liznąć coś" - "To lick something" is kind of polish "phrasal verb", which means to have vague knowledge of something. So the soldier is basically saying, that he knows the guy knows a bit of polish.

About the night being bright. I live just about parallel with where they say livonia is (I’m in North Idaho, livonia is about on the same longitude), and the nights when the moon is out are extremely bright. Even in the woods.

Burn pits are absolutely a thing. Depending on what needs burning. It's far less common now but they still exist.

I love the timing of this dlc launch in regard to the area 51 raid.
The polish guy at 15:56 says "Get out of this hole", "you hear me?", "I know you understand what i'm saying", "take your wounded friend and get out of that hole, quick", "that thing, that is by you, what is it?", "I know you know some polish, talk back to me", "start finally talking!".
I haven't seen a burn pit in years but we used them in 2003-2004 but then everything became contracted. So they handled it all after that.

The military will be using burn pits of some sort for years to come, even if it might be on the back of a truck. They will always need a sure fire and secure mode to destroy “things they don’t need anymore “ and normal waste.

So I bought the ARMA 3 deluxe (or whatever it's called) when it first come out, so I get all of the DLC's when they are released. I just want to say thanks for posting this 'Contact' video as I wanted to get an understanding of what it was about before I give it a try. You always provide great content for ARMA and I appreciate it! I am a big fan of the game and i'm glad you enjoy it as much as I do! Please keep doing what you do best!
