Another, ahem, cracking mod by yours truly. This one threw me quite the curve ball when I unpacked it. I guess there is a salutary lesson there, that when one buys parts, one cannot be sure they colour match! The solution was pretty greta though, eh? In fact, I am pleased with the overall look for less than $100. Just don't forget to colour match the date wheel. Cheers, Jody
Zelos and Helm sweating rn because of the Just One More Watch microbrand making their first watch 😁
wow this comment actually aged very well :D
I do wonder if me suggesting this is what set those dominoes toppling, lmao
Tudor would of charged $7-$10K for the same look, well done laddie.
Tudor would have used a special swiss saliva to lick those hands though.
I bought a Corgeut from AliExpress for about $100. Looks like a Tudor aswell.
I hope more people start building their own. We need more people out there buying parts and more makers creating new products- new case designs, dials hands etc. Ive almost exhausted what i can find out there and im resorting to making my own dials and such simply because i cant find anything out there that i havent already seen or used.
I'm sending you a dm, hope that's ok
Only thing missing is the lume shot, which is a little bit surprising, considering Jody's lume-love😁
I was thinking the exact same thing...
Me too. Especially after all the lume tinting. Come on Jody. Do leave us hanging.
Lume lust! 🌟
@@trevornelsonmd Same! Add my vote - lume shot!
now that you mentioned it...
My god this is why I pay a painter and decorator to do the house instead of me! Well done Jody ! I’ll just leave this with you;)
Thank you for sharing this! I just wanted to tell you that I'm a huge fan of yours.
Edit: looks like imma build a watch now
Let us know how it goes :)
That you Katherine! Looks like I need some L-Carnitine for my liver now!
Well done!
I do this with used parts / parts-watches on ebay. Because I like to live dangerously.
Hahahah! So much more scope for disaster that way. Well done!
This is how I get practice, for working on watches I value.
I always wanted to make my own mod. After watching this, I took the plunged and order the parts. Love your channel. Keep up the amazing work. Bless
Perfect timing! I'm building my first NH36 watch any day now. Dial and hands are in the mail. Let's hope it goes together as smoothly as yours. Great work with the lume as well!
Buying parts on AE is an absolute nightmare if you are a complete novice like me. But now I would feel more confident to give it a go. Great tutorial Jody, and the end result looks cool.
Looking forward to the next build.
Ask the AE vendor if the parts you selected fit together. They will tell you.
That´s a great comment M.A. I´m a novice too and this video will sure help me to build my own ticker !!
@@haping1 Right you are, I have found the good shops will answer your questions, and if not find another. Or just do as Jody did, and buy everything from the same shop.
I'm even more of a novice, can you tell me what's AE?

I love, love, love the labradorite! As a lapidary artisan, I’ve cut and polished many stones over the years. But making watch dials out of them is just next level!!
This has to be one of my favourite videos of yours, Jody. It’s really nice to see a watch come together in an owners own hands. It’s incredibly simple yet beautiful. Thanks for posting this
This is something I debated doing when I saw that you could buy all the parts, you absolutely nailed it
Thanks mate! It was a pretty easy one tbh. Give it a go!
@@JustOneMoreWatch heck yeah, maybe I will treat myself lmao
@@JustOneMoreWatch we need a full install with tools video for those of us afraid to give it a go.
That is amazing! Obviously you have been tinkering with this sort of thing for a while and have the necessary tools and equipment but you do make it look doable for mere mortals like me. I might have to try my hand at something like this. Cheers and hope the lockdown is relaxed soon!
Impressive job on the lume and a nice looking watch as a result. Because Seikos start changing the date at about 10:30 I find when refitting hands I wind it around until the date just starts to move and call that 12:00. The result is it changes after 12 and its done by 02:30 or thereabouts, takes longer for the day so its right when I get up in the morning and you dont have it half done for hours when it matters (to me).
Been waiting for this one, well done mate it looks great. I know hindsight is 20/20 but when dealing with syringes that have sat for a while it's a good idea to use a toothpick to loosen the hardened material at the very tip, avoids that mess you created.
REALLY!! I've been bookmarking watching websites for watch parts while debating if I should build my own watch... and then you drop this video. Now, I have to go through with it.
Looks amazing. I have to wonder why companies don't just make this to begin with. The date wheel placement and color are perfect and those hands (which you should not have had to color match) are so sweet
You did an excellent job. Great looking watch.
If only you could find a way to put a JOMW logo under the 12 indices.
Oooooh! That would be a nice touch.
@@JustOneMoreWatch Letraset ;-)
Yeah.
That came out beautifully. I've been itching for a new watch and now I know, I'm just going to build one
Right on Jodie. This is a good way to get Horology newcomers into the passion of watches. Good job.
Great work! A good step in the right direction for a UT channel for watch lovers. I agree with the black date wheel on black dial 👍🏼
Awesome build, works great together. I have on my channel several builds like that, but I never had the courage to re-lume a set of hands. Well done!
Nice job! I built my first watch a few weeks ago, a bronze 47mm Tuna case with a "Seiko" green iridescent shell dial, an NH35 (black date wheel) and an algae green silicone strap. And I goofed up a few times (that second hand is a real bugger!). But it's all together, works well and I'm really happy with the look. But I wouldn't call getting the hands on easy.
I think you have inspired me to attempt this myself! No way I could do all of the steps myself though. However I may pay a watchmaker to assemble it for me
So I bought the 36mm oyster style case and bracelet and a rhodium coloured dial with plain hands. Sorted. But I was amazed at how good the bracelet was for the price, even has a glide-lock style clasp. Thanks for introducing me to this Judy!
What a great watch Jody. We're here to help you through lockdown. Make more. Anyway the future's bright, the future's orange. Orange and black is always a killer combination. It's a bit Dundee United in fact. Kind of marmalade. I'm sure I wouldn't have your confidence with the handset. Love from England. 👍
Looks like a great project to keep yourself occupied during lockdown. Think I'll have to give this a go myself. Thanks Jody for making it look so easy
Nicely done Jody!
A big thumbs up for the Sinclair Spectrum 48k T shirt.
My mate had one back in 84 which led me to have the ZX 128k......oh the days of loading games by cassette player, was good times though.
Sweet, looks great and the colour match of the hands is pretty bloody good, I'm motivated to make my own one now, thanks JOMW.
This is honestly an awesome gift idea! Im thinking of making a watch for my friend’s birthday and this is AWESOME!
I’m considering building my next watch. This is invaluable. Thank you.
Your "HELLO!" IS ALWAYS THE BEST!!! We love ya J!
Job well done Jody! I recently bought several parts from Miuksi and build some watches. Using the NH35/36 movements is most easiest to build. It's great to build your own watch ( for less than $100). I missed your lume shot;)
I love your show ,you have sparked a new hobby for me in just a few months I've purchased a vostok and a few others. I'm hoping for the best expecting the worst.
I think that me and the old cucumber fingers will try this. I had already bought the parts apart from the movement. My watch dismantling disaster has held me back. No more,! Thanks Jody
I am not the biggest fan of snowflake hands, but I can totally see where you've gone with this project and have to admit it does look great. I also love a black dial with a as little text of fuss on it as possible. You've got me thinking now...
Thank you for the video, my dial just arrived this morning, time to assemble all of it!
This is an excellent watch build video. I love this stuff. Watch is easy to read at a glance. That wrist band pick made all the difference in black. It looks like a $500 - $1000 watch if there was a logo on the face. Good thumbnail.
Beautiful Jody!! You got it perfect!!!! I made one for my mom’s birthday using MIUKSI parts I named it the “Golden Flake”. I will not put the link to respect your channel. You did an awesome work!
Nice Jody, i made myself one early 2020 with the NH movement very Grand Seiko/explorer esc 40mm black dial subby date with the merc hands proper bracelet too, love it and regulated getting + - 1 s/d, serviced a few watches now myself all you guys on YT gave me the bug, cheers mate enjoy your watch.
I've modded about 6-8 Vostoks. Watching this video has given me mild PTSD flashbacks.
The worst thing is when you apply too much pressure to a minute hand and crease it near the base.
Ahh, Vostoks love a bit of rough and tumble.
Great looking watch, and great video! When installing a movement I've had good luck placing the movement on my left hand, dial up, and then carefully setting the case over the dial and movement with my right. Avoids having to drop the movement in, but not sure if you'd have room with the camera and everything. Anyway, awesome job, really enjoy the channel!
Great timing - I've got parts on the way and looking forward to my first go at this!
This has convinced me to make my own GMT. A cheap travelling watch. Perfect, cheers Jody. Also congratulations on the baby!
Wow, Jody! Impressed that you solved the hand problem! I would’ve likely tossed the whole mess out the window...
Excellent. Really appreciate that you have given details of the all parts. Thanks.
It is a handsome looking watch. Getting a black date wheel is something many watchmakers of apparently great repute just don't seem to get right. You just proved it isn't all that hard. Well done.
Great build! Nice audible on the lume kit for the handset! This has a classy vintage look to it.
Thanks for this build-your-own ticker crash course. I´m already sourcing the component to start my own project. It looks great when you´re
saving this lume colour mix from what looks a total loss in the first place 👍👍👍😂😂😂
Amazing video, inspired me to build my own, I just placed the order for a yellow dial and NH35, so I’ll update on how my build goes
Bravo, Jody! There must be a special satisfaction wearing a quality timepiece that you spec'ed and built yourself. Totally agree going for the color-matched date wheel was a wise decision. To paraphrase a certain world-class slacker, it really ties the whole watch together. And kudos for dealing with the mismatched colors on the indices and hands. Now: imagine building a personalized watch as a gift for that special someone in your life. Any ideas for an affordable yet professional looking way to customize the dial with personalized script and/or logo?
Awesome job. Watching this I’m building the confidence to give this a go myself.
That is awesome you got that close of a match on the hands and indices, kudos to you. Bam that date window looks great with the dark back ground. It really sets off the face of the watch. You keeping that lume kit around really paid off. The main reason I tend to keep most things I aquire. I get called a pack rat some times but that's why I keep every thing, to get me out a jam. Love the video. Stay safe out there. Blessings to you. 😊
I am very tempted to build my own watch after watching this video. Thanks Jody!
Interesting video got a person whos very new into watches to want to put together their own watch. I come from mechanical keyboards/rc cars/slotcars so the idea of being able to make something I can also use makes me every interested.
Gorgeous! I'd be super proud of that! You make it look a lot easier than is
Love the way it turned out!! Thanks for the video and info!
That was awesome.... i'd love to see more awatch building videos like that!
WOW!!!! Great job!!!!! I am very proud of you!!!! Looks AWESOME 😎 👏🏽👍🏽😻
I watch your videos from the beginning. I need to say. You turned out really really good at it
This video came out at the right time! Have been considering building a "seikoak" with a royal oak case/bracelet, nh35 Seiko movement, a beautiful carbon dial, sapphire crystal and see through case back.
I did the same thing using the same store to build a Captain Willard looking watch. It was like playing with Legos, The parts fit together perfectly.
The DIY watch club kit is a great experience to start moding plus you get a decent watch and a starter tool kit in the process.
And it’s a gateway to Seiko mod rabbit hole. 😏
is there a link to one?
@@JayandSarah my brother in christ you have access to google
That's a job really well done! Looks fantastic
Miuksi Store is the best on Ali, fast communication, custom dials are incredible, super fine high res printing 👍
When you painted those hands I realized how my watch hobby and my minis painting hobby could merge together.
Your mod videos are some of my favorites! That watch looks great.
Great job !
I like the whole watch, but the ocd in me loves the matching date wheel.
My goodness Jody we have such similar taste sometimes! I have a Tudor BB41 and I would absolutely wear your watch! Congrats looks GREAT.
Great!!! Now I have to start ordering watch parts. Thanks Jody!!😁
I was cracking up when you pulled out the three year old lume kit.
Great result, a bit more involved than I would have guessed.
Really do love these types of DIY videos.

Just when i was about to decide if i will build a watch myself with Parts from miuksi shop, this Video goes on air and teils me to Go ahead! Thanks! Good Job!
Doooooooo it!
Sign from the sky...... ☺️
Outstanding! You make it look easier than it probably is!!
Thank you! This was the need of the hour for my DIY itch.
What a great work! Congrats Jody and thanks for sharing
I've bought parts from several Ali Express stores and have had no problems as yet. Some stores sell kits with case, dial and hands which makes things much easier if it's your first time.
Love the ZX shirt.. classic and the first PC that my primary school had in early 80's
Nice job Jody! Would love to see a video on the critical dimensions to ensure that the pieces fit together in the end.
This was interesting and informative. That black date wheel is the icing on the cake! Well done.
Incredible. Love the creativity. Keep it up Jody
FINALY a new modding vid...tempted, since you have teased the shop.
Great job mate, enjoyed the video and the end result turned out v/well. The T-shirt brought back memories of impatiently waiting for Manic Miner and others to load up 😊
Nice work watchmaker Musgrove! Very informative. The sailcloth makes it look wicked!
That is so classy! Simply gorgeous
Fantastic vintage looking watch. Great end result from a very affordable starting point
Did that twice recently. One standard diver and one diver combo with an Apple Watch. A bit tricky but super useful day to day
Love that t-shirt! So many memories having one as a teenager…
Looks fantastic. Nicely done.
A bloody good result mate. Love it on the light coloured strap. Nice work.
Great job with the color matching; that's why we never throw things away, right???!!! Love the t-shirt!
What a great video, all looked very straight forward. Most impressed.
Glad you took my Rodico/seconds hand advice!
Looks great. I really want to try this, one day. Thanks for another great video, have a great week.
I love the colour gradation on those hands..
Congratulations! The watch is beautiful!
Thanks for showing this. I'll assemble one myself to gift it to my son.
I always LOVE those tudor hands!Very nice..
