    Hows the luk clutch and fidanza flywheel holding up? Considering getting that for my built motor, cst4, fbo build. No aux fuel yet, shooting for 350-400. Would I be good with that?

      I run approx the same build, luk/fidanza, cst4 17psi peak, no cats, top mount. makes approx. 290-300 whp on a mustang dyno. I have noticed that I make way more torque than the hp figure, and the luk has the tendency to let go completely if I put the power down early, before 4500rpm. roll into boost rather than stabbing it on a highway pull. you might want to get something grabbier than an oem replacement friction disk. also, the fidanza makes SO much noise, if you pull up next to a building, it sounds broken. clacky clack

      No retune, if you can solder then you are good. I wouldn't use a wotbox on a stock bottom end, but that's just me. My turbo flutters because it doesn't have a antisurge housing, and my tial q bov is placed on the hot side of the piping rather than the cold, so it reacts more slowly when the throttle shuts

    • @jkon156
      @jkon156 2 роки тому +6

      They can be. but you need to do maintenance on a LOT of things if you're getting one in the 4-5k range. the common failure points more often than not are neglected, and tend to suddenly break, leaving you stranded.
      Check for, suspension in good shape, including bushings, HPFP internals if tuned, VVT/Timing replaced and done properly, AC compressor replaced if around 120k, Oil cooler plate that sits on your oil filter assembly, idler and tensioner pulleys for the serpentine belt, suspension bushings, particularly sway bar mount bushings, they are always dust and will give you the infamous rear end clunk, pivot shaft seal on top of your transmission tends to leak, DO A COMPRESSION TEST AND SHOOT FOR NEAR 160 ON ALL CYLINDERS, Cylinder 3 runs leaner than the others due to the intake manifold design, can and will run lean with a shit tune and that cylinder is always the first to go zoom zoom boom.
      2nd gen, for overall reliability, is leagues above a gen1. however, it will hold your hand much more aggressively with the driver assists. gen1 has none of that, barely even tries to wrangle the torque steer.
      I own a gen1, and this is the list of shit I had to do immediately after purchase, costing around 4k for just parts, me doing all the work.

    • @itzlizpy
      @itzlizpy 2 роки тому

      @Jared amen. My gen 2 just had its turbo oil seals go. Getting it right now as we speak. Though I do have a lot bolt ons along woth cat back and a catless downpipe. So that probably didn't help. Ended up going woth a cst4. You're lucky you can do all the work yourself. Minor stuff I'm fine with but I don't have the experience nor time sadly.

      The transmission built into these cars is very lazy, not necessarily bad but you will hear a lot of noises and experience jerks especially between gears 1&2. A lot of people fix this issue with a short shifter, idk what he has in the video but that’s what I’d guess. It’s smoother if you pull the clutch out slowly, also like this guy you can rev match nicely on the downshifts. I doubt it’s the engine mounts tbh.

      If you're an audiophile like me, absolutely not. If you don't care too much about sound and more are into the functionality, then go for it. I have a 5ch amp and I don't use the amp built into the head unit, it's not great and very underpowered. As far as functionality goes its definitely nice
