Make it your mission to get the PCV valve under the intake manifold replaced. These things are unreliable because the factory PCV is a pile of garbage that never gets replaced because of its placement. It pulls oil into the intake, burns insane amounts of oil which kills the turbo bearings/seals and later spins a connecting rod bearing.
The PCV issues are 10x worse when the engine is modified with an intake/exhaust because the extra flow sucks more oil from the crankcase. If you wanna catch can it go ahead but PCV is most important on a used MS3.
I'll for sure take a look into it. I now have 2 mazdas with EVAP leaks so its definitely on my to do list 😅
Welcome to the headache club lol. Mine snapped a rod in November. I just finished building a block full of goodies 2 weeks ago. Shes got 400miles so far 😅
Hopefully my rods will remain un-snapped. Will have to see in a future video :)
How did you actually snap it?
@Dyl_With_A_Cam no clue actually. Block had about 170,000 miles on it. 40,000 of which was with intake-exhaust-hpfp and a 20psi ko4 tune.
But I was otw home from a hiking trip with my wife and kids, cruising down the highway 65mph for 40min, not doing anything stupid at all. Stopped at a red light, idled fine for the light, light turned green and I slowly started to pull away (2nd in line) and I got 15-20 ft and the rod started knocking like mad.
