You have to buy your own AR? WTH... you guys don’t get paid enough to have to buy that... and what is funny with some of these rude comments over his gear.. he has MORE medical equipment than guns and is more concerned about having it. I heard him reference his medical equipment more than his guns. More about safety than his gun. Most cops are good people who just want what we want. To have a uneventful day.. Are there bad cops, yeah. But there are bad doctors, lawyers, politicians who actually do more harm every day.. grow up people.
Here in San Antonio they would pull people over and accuse them of possession and go through their pockets/wallets. If the person complained they would suddenly find cocaine/crack on you. The most recent one was a female cop who was finally arrested for planting drugs and for charging people with DUI when they were sober and stating that they failed the sobriety test even when they didn't. Thats how many of the bad cops do it.
12:13 Another good idea I use on my med bags besides putting a red cross logo on it is to take some red paracord & tie it to the handle. If I send someone to get it, I tell them the med bag with the red paracord on the handle, it also tells someone where the handle is on the bag(if it has a bunch of straps or zipper lanyards on it & their not a 1st responder), so they can grab it & run with it securely to save time in a emergency situation. Great Vid Bro & Stay Safe.
God bless you sir. There are still those of us who appreciate the work y'all do. Please take care, and again, thank you for performing a fairly thankless job. - Beau
A couple suggestions for items I carry. A spare flashlight, spare batteries, Flat bar/small prybar, a good solid knife (I have the KaBar BK2), 2 or 3 cotton hand towels, small stuffed animal you can give to a child or 2, just a few items Brother. Stay safe!

Truck drivers are in pretty much the same boat in most circumstances we have to buy our own gear for the truck radios coolers or fridges tools such as plires and wrenches for replacing mudflaps etc if your an otr driver its like furnishing a mini house
I like the Diplomacy Failure mag covers. This guy was spot on, they fit well on aluminum mags and make it easy to grip. Also if you're prone it helps to stabilize the rifle when you have nothing else to rest upon.
Hey, just a tip from a nursing student. Put your “rubber” latex or nitrile gloves in a ziplock bag to keep them clean to prevent infection if you have to use them.
From a former US Army medic - if they're not sterile gloves coming out of sterile packaging, then those gloves are to protect the person wearing them, not the patient. *Edited to remove a typo.
Great for US law enforcement agencies... And here in India our police only gets a baton and a radio and lucky enough if he gets a car or a handgun for defense most lucky if he gets a automatic weapon that also an outdated ww2 era British stern mk 9mm
Hey, new to this channel. Came for a video on a monadnock, got hooked by the duty bag video and I just wanted to say thanks for making quality content. Excellent set up. I have a very similar one working for Michigan State Polive CVE unit. Luckily I don't share a car(2018 tahoe) and get to take it home daily parked in my garage every night so I don't have to evacuate the trunk. Great video!
Great set up I tossed my Uncle Mike's basket weave duty belt away. The plastic buckle keep breaking. I went with the tatical 511 with the cobra buckle. It is great! I put all my safariland pouch holders on them. My shift commander got one to. Thank you! Keep safe.

I’m not LE, but I looked at a Rock River myself. I went with a Windham Weaponry. Great rifle. I got mine right after the panic. I paid $850, it was $2500 when I looked at it before.
I had to share a car when I first started and it was terrible on the officers and the car. That thing was such a beater it spent more time in the shop that the road. I actually made my own sets of keys for the pool cars I was using them so much. It also never failed that the guy I shared with would have it when I needed it for a side job. Thankfully I have a take home now so those days are over.
Harley yea my sisters ex husband. My nephews loser father. A dead beat dad. A state trooper! Get all the gear and his car to take home every night. People always say are you sure? I say yes. What the fuck does him being a trooper have to do with being a father. They had a baby and he wanted nothing to do with my nephew. He spent all his money on his dodge truck 🤣🤣. I'm more his father than the trooper. This world Is a fucked up place. Wana hear a true story. I'm a prepper.. I have guns food water. All that. When Tony.. the trooper graduated he was showing me his side arm. The gun was unloaded.. he cocked it and tried to get the slide to go forward!!🤣🤣 he said what the fuck is wrong with my gun!! Enough said. Stow Ohio people !! His post is in Cleveland Ohio!!!
Good to see a cop with a bunch of med gear that dont just stand there like wait for the ambulance and watch people die you seem like one of the good ones
little hint from another cop friend back home in IL. he just takes red duct tape and length cuts it into a RED CROSS to and tapes it to his medical kits rather than the patches. It is universally recognized.
for those watching this. you dont NEED to spend $100+ to get a decent rifle bag. you can find some nice ones on amazon for $60-$70 with pouches and a divider for 2 rifles. although i would recommend spending the little extra i know thats not an option for everyone.
For those saying why buy your own rifle. Because the rifles most departments get are often bare bones, cheapest they can get. Smart officers and off allowed will buy they're own good durable reliable equipment because they're relying on it and it's saving their lives. That may not apply to everybody but that's local departments around me.
Did you have to buy all the firearms you are required to have? Was there any way to have the department issue like a loaner rifle or shotgun? Im wanting to get on with a department around my area, but if i do and they said i needed to provide my own firearms, they're going to have to be ok with me using my H&K G3 clone. There's no way i could afford to buy my own ar15, or pistol, or any gun if a department required me to have one prior to starting.
+Alex Tillman My Pd requires you to buy almost all your own stuff. Cost me $8,000 my first year. Pants are $85, shirts $50, boots $200, coat $425, it ads up quickly. The gun is the least of your worries.
That's the part most people don't get who work in an office and everything is provided including free coffee. They would cry if they had to provide their own desk and chairs, and computers. Oh you want pictures on the wall, you'll have to buy those yourself.
My department provided everything I needed when I started except a flashlight, that always seemed odd to me. Our pistols, rifles and shotguns are all issued with no lights or other accessories so I bought those myself. My M16 I was issued the only part I don't own now is the receiver itself, I have around $2k into the rest. We can use our own long guns but we are unfortunately stuck with the 226 boat anchor. No matter what your department does or doesn't provide you will end up putting plenty of your own money into gear. The plus side is it's a good excuse to buy new toys.
Chris Jones that is what i always expected. I figured for the sake of uniformity and liability departments would issue at least most of the gear and weapons.
I would suggest some better glasses. Ima mechanic and we have to have safety glasses. To be honest you need to be careful with safety glasses. Just because something is cheap doesn’t mean that it is safe. The best safety glasses out there have a number engraved onto the top of the left or sometimes right lense. These glasses with that serial number are tested and proven to resist sharp objects from breaking through the lenses. Where as if there is not number it isn’t tested and is most likely to completely shatter upon impact cause if not only the object originally coming at your eye but the shards from the lense as well. Just thought I would give you a heads up. But very interesting to see and learn about your equipment.
The dust cover on your AR was left open. If you were in the military you’d get smoked for that. Man, they used to have soldiers out in fields doing push-ups and running laps for leaving dust covers open. Craziness in the infantry. Stay safe
Great video! Love the gear. Just a FYI, condor and voodoo tactical make those ifak pouches in "medic red" if you wanted to swap them out. All my ifak and trauma bags have Red Cross patches on them and are red for hi visibility and easy identification. If I have to have someone grab the bag they can easily tell which one is the first aid pouch and not an ammo one. Just something to think about.
I think its illinois im from bolingbrook il but based on your videos i determined your in the windy city but might work for a small department like maywood with high crime or oak park ?
FAXITY GAMING I could understand you guessing Maywood. They get some shit. But, Oak park? Come on... Nobody has been murdered in oak park in four years! Lol
The ones we were issued were ACU (back in 2006) I drew a medical cross and wrote "MED" with a sharpie. Maybe wrap a piece or 2 of red electrical tape around it. Just my opinion.
You have to buy your own firearms apart from the standard issue? In the UK every single force has it's standard issue side arm and rifle that you have to sign out and all but particular units within forces sometimes have different ones but only specifically trained officers use firearms.
Damn man, this video went nuts with views. 2M in a year? Damn man, I remember watching your vids at a few hundred views per video lol. This means you're gonna start getting some flavorful type characters in your comments section... wait I see them now lol
Stay safe officer and thank you for keeping us safe. My only concern with police equipment is the lack of a bulletproof police helmet (like judge Dread) and not carrying the rifle all the time.
no you don't - it's the most thankless and underpaid job in the world plus cops don't make even close to what they should - be a software engineer and make big money then if you like you can donate money to the police department but forget this idea of becoming a cop
just hope he listens - tv and internet makes some things seem glamorous but the cold hard facts are anything but - military special forces n police swat teams may "look" cool ... until you have to deal with a terrorist or a serious criminal - when my father told me to join the army i told him i couldn't cuz i'm allergic to bullets
I want to be a police man when I’m a bit older not like 60 but older and I think for a lot of people that want to join the military police or any thing like that it’s not for the money or the thanks it’s more for personal enjoyment knowing your doing something good but I can’t speak for everybody.
Lol. The Frogg Toggs. Or however you spell them. Ive owned dozens of pair for various reasons, he isn't kidding when he says they're light. You can take the upper jacket and take the lower pants and ball them together, and throw them in a bag. You literally don't even know they're there. They are about as light in that regard as about 10 pieces of paper give or take a little, also depending on what size or type you get. Extremely extremely light, good rain gear.
It depends on which police department you work at. On the federal side of law enforcement agencies, your equipment is most likely issued to you. In terms of law enforcement agencies in the US.
Only thing I would suggest to add to this is a folder...just in case for whatever reason. I was in boy scouts and hunted for food, not game...a reliable knife is a definite "must have".
Can you please please please do a video of the police lights like the codes different light patterns cause I see a lot officer's use different light patterns certain stops they make
It's not really a thing. Different cars or light bars will have different patterns but they don't mean anything. It's just the preference of the department or which one is the most annoying. Some guys will have a directional bar to try to guide traffic to one side of the car or the other but that's about it.
It is an off the shelf semi-automatic rifle. Understand that for government full auto guns cost the same or less than a semi-automatic one. As an example, Mp5's for police departments last time I checked were less than $800 while even just a "functioning" well worn example on the consumer market is well over $20k.
+Mike Benko Who is sending soldiers to war with semiautomatic 223 rifles, four mags total, and a single set of plates with no side plates or helmet? Rwanda? The Congo? Somalia?
Yeah no shit when i join my Department after i got out of the Marines i couldn't believe how much crap uh i mean gear we carried and needed for patrol.
I watched your shock video where you said you lived in Chicago so I'm going to assume that your cpd,Or cook county. Born raised and still live in Chicago
I'm not experienced with what a typical officer with a rifle would have in the back of his cruiser, but that rifle looks very nice and tactical in a critical situation.
1. Ejection port cover is open... Smart to keep I closed to keep dirt out. 2. OpSec man, people don't need to know what gear you have, that can tip the hand in the enemies favor by them upping their force and weaponry knowing what you have.
@@Hedgeflexlfz what ever works for you and your budget. If you plan on building, buy your lower first. It's the only part (where I live) that you fill out a background check. The rest you can find in kits that can actually (again where I live) be shipped to your door. Or buy a pre assembled one. Can find great assembled ARs for 600 or less. Tons of fun to shoot.

+Harley It does. Some stuff we can leave in there. For instance, we both wear the same size riot helmet and gas mask so that just stays in the truck.
Harley hi
Jeff 🤦♂️
Make sure you put gauze pads and roller bandages in your medical kits. In case of having to treat someone with gashes, cuts, or slashes.
Holy shit 3600, I feel for you man.
Good to see a cop with a bunch of med gear that dont just stand there like wait for the ambulance and watch people die you seem like one of the good ones
Thank you for your service. I always wonder what's in that trunk :)
little hint from another cop friend back home in IL. he just takes red duct tape and length cuts it into a RED CROSS to and tapes it to his medical kits rather than the patches. It is universally recognized.
keep safe man nice load out
I want to be a cob after high school and your videos have been very informative.
That's kinda corny
Hey, he's just trying to figure Out the Maze of life
What city/state do u work in? (as a police officer)
for those watching this. you dont NEED to spend $100+ to get a decent rifle bag. you can find some nice ones on amazon for $60-$70 with pouches and a divider for 2 rifles. although i would recommend spending the little extra i know thats not an option for everyone.
What gun do you use when in a situation?
FAT1 GU3 depends which situation
Kinda like being a mechanic. After a few years you end up with a $30,000 investment
Nice weapon choice
The dust cover on your AR was left open. If you were in the military you’d get smoked for that. Man, they used to have soldiers out in fields doing push-ups and running laps for leaving dust covers open. Craziness in the infantry. Stay safe
Most important question, is she cute? ;)
+interpol007 only when she's mad. She's cute alot. Lol
free field training Lmao
What I heard him say is he has a wife.
interpol007 true
Hahahahaa
Great video! Love the gear. Just a FYI, condor and voodoo tactical make those ifak pouches in "medic red" if you wanted to swap them out. All my ifak and trauma bags have Red Cross patches on them and are red for hi visibility and easy identification. If I have to have someone grab the bag they can easily tell which one is the first aid pouch and not an ammo one. Just something to think about.
Are you in Canada
+Gav Hill nope. Are you? I hear it is chilly this time of year in Canada. I'd probable have four fleas jackets and a parka in that bag if I were, lol.
free field training indiana? You said Bailey's we have them here
I think its illinois im from bolingbrook il but based on your videos i determined your in the windy city but might work for a small department like maywood with high crime or oak park ?
FAXITY GAMING I could understand you guessing Maywood. They get some shit. But, Oak park? Come on... Nobody has been murdered in oak park in four years! Lol
free field training well i said oak park because its kinda big so thats what i picked but you might be in forest park i hear there getting pretty bad
The ones we were issued were ACU (back in 2006) I drew a medical cross and wrote "MED" with a sharpie. Maybe wrap a piece or 2 of red electrical tape around it. Just my opinion.
After high school I'm joining law enforcement because I want to protect and serve my community
Same, but I’m going to college first so I can be a detective or federal officer later in my career
College has nothing to do with being a detective. Let me help you out there: ua-cam.com/video/u_UO1NsSDCE/v-deo.html
Sure its you're decision
You need to join the military to learn discipline first
Dream on, kiddo
It’s just a joke good luck m8
You have to buy your own firearms apart from the standard issue? In the UK every single force has it's standard issue side arm and rifle that you have to sign out and all but particular units within forces sometimes have different ones but only specifically trained officers use firearms.
That's usually how it is around Chicago
Damn man, this video went nuts with views. 2M in a year? Damn man, I remember watching your vids at a few hundred views per video lol.
This means you're gonna start getting some flavorful type characters in your comments section... wait I see them now lol
Police officers are hard working for people and keep our society’s safety!👍👍👍💐💐🇺🇸🇺🇸🌹🌹
Have you ever shot someone before
Draw, paint, or get a patch that marks (just a Red Cross) for your med kits so when you send someone to grab it it’s easily seen.
So if there’s ever an apocalypse all I need to do is go into some police cars to get weapons
Stay safe officer and thank you for keeping us safe. My only concern with police equipment is the lack of a bulletproof police helmet (like judge Dread) and not carrying the rifle all the time.
That is sooo cool when I’m older I want to be a police man
no you don't - it's the most thankless and underpaid job in the world plus cops don't make even close to what they should - be a software engineer and make big money then if you like you can donate money to the police department but forget this idea of becoming a cop
me2ontube hit him with the truth at a young age hahaha
just hope he listens - tv and internet makes some things seem glamorous but the cold hard facts are anything but - military special forces n police swat teams may "look" cool ... until you have to deal with a terrorist or a serious criminal - when my father told me to join the army i told him i couldn't cuz i'm allergic to bullets
I want to be a police man when I’m a bit older not like 60 but older and I think for a lot of people that want to join the military police or any thing like that it’s not for the money or the thanks it’s more for personal enjoyment knowing your doing something good but I can’t speak for everybody.
Idk if you cant just become. Swat and get a gun i think u have to work up
Close your dust cover on your ar THAT TRIGGERS ME
that is the only reason i got on this video it poped up on my youtube feed and i had to say somthing thank you
Agreed, only reason I clicked.
mans busy go away
You have a bad case of OCD
Good thing it's not your rifle then huh!
Do cops bring their own guns to work or is it provided cause at 5:46 he talks about liking a specific manufacturer's , "Rock River Rifles", weapon.
It depends on which police department you work at. On the federal side of law enforcement agencies, your equipment is most likely issued to you. In terms of law enforcement agencies in the US.
It sounds weird to say “yeah this is the rifle I take to work”
Only thing I would suggest to add to this is a folder...just in case for whatever reason. I was in boy scouts and hunted for food, not game...a reliable knife is a definite "must have".
Can you please please please do a video of the police lights like the codes different light patterns cause I see a lot officer's use different light patterns certain stops they make
Please please please please hopefully you will get my comment
Chevy Fan that’s not a thing
It's not really a thing. Different cars or light bars will have different patterns but they don't mean anything. It's just the preference of the department or which one is the most annoying. Some guys will have a directional bar to try to guide traffic to one side of the car or the other but that's about it.
My man is rocking bullets to belly, absolute king
$3600 did that included the SUV too?
Keep in mind it's law enforcement probably has more then just semi auto selection!
It is an off the shelf semi-automatic rifle. Understand that for government full auto guns cost the same or less than a semi-automatic one. As an example, Mp5's for police departments last time I checked were less than $800 while even just a "functioning" well worn example on the consumer market is well over $20k.
@@freefieldtraining I'm not aware of that. But I'll check into it.
@@freefieldtraining Your definitely wrong on that like I thought.Full auto version cost alot more!
I forgot about fully auto for law enforcement!! Ya civilians just thinking semi... good buy then!! Thanks for your service!!
Your forearm grip. What forearm grip do you have on your AR-15? Thank you for your service
Nice video 👍
nerf squad can you sub to me
Awesome video
paramedic and Tems medic department not also have in the patrol car, some type of first aid kit and an AED like most apartments do
....some countries send their soldiers into war with less gear.
Is it because of their military budget
Yeah they're called third world countries and they use child soldiers as canon fodder.
+Mosin Guy I'm pretty sure even they use full autos.
I watched your shock video where you said you lived in Chicago so I'm going to assume that your cpd,Or cook county. Born raised and still live in Chicago
Good stuff men
Make a video about your most epic or rewarding arrest.. Storytime :d
+Luis J Espinal This one time I arrested a guy for failure to signal left hand turn.... On a bicycle. That was epic.
Ahaahah that was epic men lol, keep up with the good video bro..
free field training 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
free field training Just curious. Why arrest instead of ticket?
Tickets are a convenience. If they can't bond on the scene then they get arrested.
I'm not experienced with what a typical officer with a rifle would have in the back of his cruiser, but that rifle looks very nice and tactical in a critical situation.
Dammm cool cop
1. Ejection port cover is open... Smart to keep I closed to keep dirt out.
2. OpSec man, people don't need to know what gear you have, that can tip the hand in the enemies favor by them upping their force and weaponry knowing what you have.
1 ejection port is open because gun was checked for video.
2 nothing here is "opsec". that is laughable.
I love ar 15s
It's a LAR 15 there but agreed
Same I want one when I'm old enough. What's the beat build to get?
@@Hedgeflexlfz what ever works for you and your budget. If you plan on building, buy your lower first. It's the only part (where I live) that you fill out a background check. The rest you can find in kits that can actually (again where I live) be shipped to your door. Or buy a pre assembled one. Can find great assembled ARs for 600 or less. Tons of fun to shoot.
@@sauronseyescream8394 Yeah I think I might buy a upper and lower and put them together
PaulH budget wise? PSA or M&P 15 sport 2. If you got money can’t go wrong with Daniel defense or bcm
Frog Toggs are the best. I use it for motorcycling, and rolls up into a small bag
You guys have a explorer post
+Patrick Bayer yes
free field training that's cool
Sunblock and bug repellent. $1 bills in case of late-night dining at the vending machines. Red Bull and energy bars on forced O/T. Nice load out. Be safe.
Lots of that is in the duty bag
Diarea meds too...
