Greetings from the UK. Nice simple recipe. Made it yesterday. The only thing I changed was I added vegetable stock cubes to the water. The wife loved it even though we are not vegetarian. There was enough for another meal the next day so I altered it slightly. I added a little more coconut milk from a small can. Added some jalapeno chillies from my greenhouse ( glass house ). Just before serving I added a seafood mix. Prawns ,mussels and squid. ( 3 bags for £10 in the UK from Iceland ) Added another helping of fresh chopped coriander and the result was amazing. This recipe can be tweeted so many ways. Thankyou

Very simple and even more tasteful. You can make it in less than an hour. As someone here wrote, a restaurant meal... We now make it once in every 10 days maybe 🙂

You forgot the magic last step in the process of cooking dhal called tempering. You need to heat a tablespoon of oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds till it starts poping and add few curry leaves and a dried red chilli. Then you mix that into the final dhal.

    • @graceshankaradasan6947

I agree tempering and finally adding to the dhal complete the recipe
