Oops, you use way too much water with cooking. Just a little bit on the bottom is enough to steam. Steam is hotter than water and with so much water all the vitamins are ending in the sink instead of in your body. I miss the vinegar...
@@mhie2x Your welcome, that doesn't only count for boerenkool but for also if you cook potatoes only. Of course you have to keep the lid closed to avoid that steam is escaping. Cooking without lid on the pot cost much more energy gas or electricity) . On this way you'll save energy and you cook more healthy because the vitamins are not ending in the sink but in your body. You can also notice the difference in color. Steamed vegetables looks brighter and has much more taste. Another viewer told me the same so when I made this the other day, I certainly did what she told me. Less water and to let the steam cook the boerenkool and the result was perfect. 😊 Schoonmoeder was er blij me. 😅

Ate this frequently growing up, but with higher amount of potatoes, cooked in pressure cooker with the sausage. Eat with mustard. Ymmmmm

if no kale you can used the following spinach/ seaweed/ broccoli anything that has green in it ..not light green or yellow colored leafs
