Learned this Dance 25 years ago in the country bars. We used to do it attached to each other in a line... our hands over each others shoulders. Quite the workout.
I also wanted to give props to the dancers for having one dancer continue the basic steps and the other dancer do more of a freestyle with it at the end it was really great to see that and how you can add your own flare to it
I used to think line dancing was simple and silly. I was stupid: this is incredible in terms of both routine and individual interpretation. This blew my mind and showed me how much I need to learn. This is amazing demonstration of how cool we are...
Y’all!!! This makes my heart sing! My live out west North of Santa Fe NM. Beautiful country. But it ain’t home. I am surrounded by artsy, hippie, but good folks. My husband is a western mountain man to the bone. I was shocked he never heard much less danced to to Copperhead Road. Hearing and dancing along brought me back to 10 cent draft beer at Harry’s in Tuscaloosa, or the Flora Bama (back in the 80s and 90s when it was the greatest white trash bar in the world!) thanks for this dose of nostalgia I can share with my hubby!
That's awesome, I'm Brazilian, a few months ago I was on Texas, first time in the US! This played on a party and people all gathered and started to dance that, I was amuzed... I sure joined the line and did my best, even having never heard about it... Good times.
Good on you, that's the way it's supposed to be! Dancing by the seat of your pants 😂 I've never been to Brazil but from what I do know, y'all really know how to enjoy life. I love that.
One of the most easiest and basic line dances to learn. But it never gets old or boring. NEVER! I remember learning it at 8 years old. 25+ yrs later I'm still stomping down that copperhead road. 💖

@@thisoneafricangirl4927 I think that dancing was no big deal for Jesus. With all the fallen ones he used to work with, he mustve had a huge amount of positive energy. To say it with Alexis Sorbas: "did you say dance? Cmon my boy!"
I grew up very country and did this dance at a lot of Kansas country dances. We typically did exactly this but with a crap ton of energy. We clapped while we did the gallop before the turn. The song is decided into three levels, the first we tapped our feet out, the second we kicked our feet high and for the last one we’d do the same loved but in a a nonstop spinning circle so we all looked like bucking bulls.
The first time I saw this dance was at a wedding in Wichita. I'm from Virginia, and I'm from the city, and that was my first time in Kansas. I had no idea what was going on. But I still remember this, an insane amount of crowd energy.

Love this song for so many other reasons than most here: the day my sister was born, my daddy made the front page of our state paper for getting caught hauling moonshine. His claim to fame was being the first to haul shine in plastic jugs because coming off the mountains, the glass jugs would break. Also, he rigged his car with weights on his back shocks that he could fix up in a jiffy because it was obvious who hauled shine because they had to rig their cars with heavy, heavy duty shocks; and if they didn’t have a load, then their cars rode with their asses in the air. Said he would have escaped the revenuers (IRS) and police but that he got caught up in the traffic, or he would have no trouble out running them. Miss him so much.

Well...sorry. There's only one Steve. But the great thing about dancing is that it can be just as much fun even so. If the rhythm is right, it makes you move. I'm trying to think of a good example from my dancing days. I know! MY SHARONA! Not a classy song, but that bass riff was everything. You just have to try the song and see.

I had learned this about 9 months ago at a VW show while doing it just during the song. Hadn’t done it since and my husband said I could do it infront of several people at a different show, but I had forgotten part of it. So I watched your tutorial and then danced it out with this video so I am prepared if that comes up again! My phone is small so once we got started on dancing it out I couldn’t see it, but I could keep track of if I was in time or not by listening to your boot hit the floor when you started the box stomp! Thanks!

Remember to breathe
Are these dances that I'm expected to see at a country club?
Example I go on to date and I hit the dance floor and this is for sure the dance?
I had learned this about 9 months ago at a VW show while doing it just during the song. Hadn’t done it since and my husband said I could do it infront of several people at a different show, but I had forgotten part of it. So I watched your tutorial and then danced it out with this video so I am prepared if that comes up again! My phone is small so once we got started on dancing it out I couldn’t see it, but I could keep track of if I was in time or not by listening to your boot hit the floor when you started the box stomp! Thanks!
I mean like, is she a bodybuilder?? Look at her legs!!🤩

the best Brazilian dances. crike in the image
Well DeeGee this is Jeff yoder the ol'broke down scooter tramp and I'd suggest you practice the dance at home until you think you're pretty good at it then go down to your local country western club or bar and jump into the first line dance that happens and if you're a y good 😊 I'm thinking you'll be pretty tired and ready for a rest before you run out of requests to dance
@@thisisbrazil7225 and your point is?
What kind of boots are you both wearing? I went line dancing last night for the first time and my boots are definitely not made to wear dancing for a couple hours. Our feet were killing us.
@@WeiseGuy91 try Corrals lots to choose from very comfortable
I've learned that every area has a different version of copperhead road😂 my area does a side step for the first 8 beats and claps at the end of the steps. Also when the music picks up, we do twists and twirls with each other🙂 love the variation of each video I watch
Same worh most of them. There's usually an East coast version and a West coast version of most of the line dances.
those are some kick ass boots she has on
One of my favorite line dances. I love country women. Hot damn.
