I believe these were the prototype designs for the Dread. The shoulder piece on the big creature kind of makes me think of the Tormentors in Final Shape. I can see Bungie having the shoulder weak point in mind early on.
Concerning The Last Word and Thorn video, read EVERYTHING. It will be such and epic watch because we all have ties to those guns in D1; lots of crucible, Phogoth, and many, many void kills. Lots of investment on each player's part. That video will have a close, emotional connection.

So, i was going through the Poker cards that came out with Forsake, and found this on the Drifter: "Status: Unknown. Believed to be the errant gunslinger , who disappeared long before the Vanguard's rise.If confronted, do NOT engage and upload any observations and reconnaissance to Vanguard channel SY06" From here a couple questions come to my mind: 1. It is mentioned that he is a known (or at least recognized) gunslinger, but who is he? 2. When it says that he is a gunslinger does it mean it as in a Hunter class? because I thought that the Hunter, Titan, and Warlock factions were organized with the Vanguard (Maybe I am wrong in this one) 3. The vanguard channel to send intel on the Drifter is called SY06. Does SY stand for Shadows of Yor?
*Shin Malphur* the only known guardian to have been born blessed by the Traveler's Light and didn't have to be resurrected, The only guardian to have another guardians ghost, the one who invented the Golden Gun and the one who killed *Dredgen Yor* he's an absolute badass
Actually the new lore that came out shows he died as a young child and a ghost that didnt have a guardian yet resurected him, but then that ghost left to lead the fallen away and was never seen again. But that makes him the first known guardian that was revived as a child. It makes sense why in the lore Jaren Ward noticed that the young Shin Malphur had light radiating from him, he was a guardian, just didnt know it.
Lol it's funny because new lore show shin has been revive as a guardian right after he die as a kids so they recont him being a guardian without being dead

You know what I love about your videos the most Byf? That I can just plug in some headphones and literally kick back after a hard days work, boot up Destiny, in all it's boring-ness right now, and just grind out some stuff that I usually am to bored with to do normally, and just listen to you tell me about the lore. We can all agree that the most violent part of this video was at 20:48 when Byf shot a man as he was invading killing him but still causing the portal to go away
I think Drifter was revived during the Dark Ages, so he ran a crew and went beyond the system too get something to fight other Risen during the time. Maybe that's why they came to the icy planet with the "mobile Darkness" zone creatures. To fight against warlords not as a heroic action, but as a means of protection, dominance, and maybe selfishness. Take their territories and be guaranteed a means of taking down more "problem makers." Then again, that maybe wrong. Or right. Idk

Technically the lore does state he was born during the dark ages, seeing as he mentions being around before city age, which is preceded by the dark age. How he describes his awakening as well as the fact there wasn't a city to travel to when he awoke, so he travelled the system. I would think he'd be as old if not older than Zahara.
the drifter seems like such an interesting character, so much mystery around him id like to know his past and what he encounterd specifically, and byf personally i’d like all of it.
I'd love to see all the details on the stories of Thorn and The Last Word, even the stuff out of the grimoire anthology book that Bungie put out. Love the content, can't wait to see more!

I personally love the dramatic readings of the entirety of the lore cards. The thorough, story-telling approach is my favorite part of these videos! A summary at the end certainly wouldn't hurt though.
Can we all take a moment to (if you like these videos as much as me) see how much time these videos take for BYF to make and most of us probably take these for videos for granted and imagine if we tried making one of these videos and how much time and effort it would take. The story of the last word and thorn is one of the stories that catch me to these game so make that video as long as you need to because its just an awesome piece of the wonderful Destiny Universe

@@TheBudgieKing there was a lore scanable from Destiny 1 in the mission where you fight the Shadow of Oryx in the colony ship in the Cosmodrome. It kind of hinted to the master chief but I feel like it was more of an easter egg.
Definitely looking forward to the next lore vid. The Thorn/Last word lore is some of my favorite, and the story that actually got me into the lore of Destiny.

Your opinions about the divorce of Bungie from Activision Byf? Do you think that Bungie will be capable to stablish themselves as a good game company or they will perish trying?
I hope that Bungie will be able to be said in the same breath as the venerated Bathesda studios. Bethesda made Elder Scrolls from ground up. Bungie has a good pedigree, with the Halo franchise ( 1-3 which to me are the best story and gameplay wise) and now Destiny. Granted it hasnt all been calm waters but neither was it for Bethesda who are iconic in the industry.
So far bungie has made their best stuff in combination with big production studios. Halo was under Microsoft, destiny under Activision. So it’ll be interesting if they attempt it themselves or sign with another big company
Shin will turn out the evil one using "good" as his just reason to kill guardians seeking knowledge. Just because one dredgen was consumed by the darkness he was studying and went off the deep end doesn't by default make all studying the darkness evil or going to become evil. He is using his pain of losing his mentor to mask his crusade. This was the same with warlocks studying void or eris the taken people didn't like it because they assumed it would consume the people studying said things but fact is people making these assumptions don't know that 100% everyone ever to research said things will be consumed by darkness and no knowledge can be gained. I honestly can't wait till it turns out shin is the bad guy or at least on a misguided bender so I can tell everyone I told you so..
Loving this series Byf, it seems like D2s lore is connecting backwards more and more as time goes on. I for one would encourage you to take as long as you need with the Thorn video/videos, most of us are probably happy to wait longer so you can make something you feel is comprehensive and high quality.
I just want to say.... Byf (I don't want to butcher an attempt at the full spelling), you, and other storytellers such as Myelin Games make Destiny worth playing. Your videos inspire life into a story that the creators left shattered. While not uncomplete, without folk of your esteemed storytelling, the Destiny universe beyond what is very explicitly given, would have never been worth the effort to uncover. You are a hero of your own rite, and I cherish your efforts in the grand storys you give life to. Please continue your great work. Know you are truly doing amazing things, For a simple story can save a life, given up upon itself. A simple inspiration can give new Light to a smolder in the Darkness.
The Gambit music in the background as you read the notes is so foreboding. I love how they hide things like this in the lore of the gear. With the news of the split from Activision I'm more hopeful they'll be able to tell the stories that they want to tell without interference.

A summary just wouldn't be enough for such gigantic charachters. Razzyl and Shin are my two favourite charachters from Destiny and I know you will make them justice. 50DegreesOfAngle not really, the heart is a pulsing crystal. The creature seems to be just some dangerous hive like liquid demons.

I hope that Bungie will be able to be said in the same breath as the venerated Bathesda studios. Bethesda made Elder Scrolls from ground up.
Bungie has a good pedigree, with the Halo franchise ( 1-3 which to me are the best story and gameplay wise) and now Destiny. Granted it hasnt all been calm waters but neither was it for Bethesda who are iconic in the industry.
So far bungie has made their best stuff in combination with big production studios. Halo was under Microsoft, destiny under Activision. So it’ll be interesting if they attempt it themselves or sign with another big company

Shin will turn out the evil one using "good" as his just reason to kill guardians seeking knowledge. Just because one dredgen was consumed by the darkness he was studying and went off the deep end doesn't by default make all studying the darkness evil or going to become evil. He is using his pain of losing his mentor to mask his crusade.
This was the same with warlocks studying void or eris the taken people didn't like it because they assumed it would consume the people studying said things but fact is people making these assumptions don't know that 100% everyone ever to research said things will be consumed by darkness and no knowledge can be gained.
I honestly can't wait till it turns out shin is the bad guy or at least on a misguided bender so I can tell everyone I told you so..

Loving this series Byf, it seems like D2s lore is connecting backwards more and more as time goes on. I for one would encourage you to take as long as you need with the Thorn video/videos, most of us are probably happy to wait longer so you can make something you feel is comprehensive and high quality.
I just want to say.... Byf (I don't want to butcher an attempt at the full spelling), you, and other storytellers such as Myelin Games make Destiny worth playing. Your videos inspire life into a story that the creators left shattered. While not uncomplete, without folk of your esteemed storytelling, the Destiny universe beyond what is very explicitly given, would have never been worth the effort to uncover. You are a hero of your own rite, and I cherish your efforts in the grand storys you give life to. Please continue your great work. Know you are truly doing amazing things, For a simple story can save a life, given up upon itself. A simple inspiration can give new Light to a smolder in the Darkness.

The Gambit music in the background as you read the notes is so foreboding. I love how they hide things like this in the lore of the gear. With the news of the split from Activision I'm more hopeful they'll be able to tell the stories that they want to tell without interference.

In regard to the video of the last word and thorn: byf seriously take all the time in the world and make that video perfect.
I think that every last bit of text and information must be provided. A summary just wouldn't be enough for such gigantic charachters. Razzyl and Shin are my two favourite charachters from Destiny and I know you will make them justice. So really take all the time you need and grant us the best video you can possibly make
