  • REAL talk about REAL things in The Elder Scrolls Online to help people understand that they can still enjoy their game no matter what they are doing instead of listening to factory tuned stupidity online.
Equality is never equal because ONE side always claims to WANT equality yet they want everything for THEM. Fair IS fair but ONLY if it suits one party generally, which is annoying, but a fact. You cannot beat stupid with a stick, and unfortunately stupidity breeds, because it is trendy.
Today we talk more about that, with a LITTLE bit of in game ESO politics to HIGHLIGHT how people should consume information, and what to do with it. Rather than flock like sheep.
Bear in mind this speech was NOT to tear anyone down directly (assumption will not make you look smart by making UP what you THINK i mean), but to underline clearly how SOME individuals think, and how the community can work TOGETHER even with different goals!
Having different goals is totally fine, and should be accepted and respected. But forcing YOUR agenda on others with the threat of exclusion or local public humiliation (zone chat, forums, facebook etc) does NOT make you right. It makes you quite literally "The problem".
    There is a difference between:
    a) A passionate discussion about opinions and being able to equally both understand each other's points from their perspectives yet still hold enough validity to stick to your guns and make sense of WHY, OR understand the other person may have a valid case to be right themselves.
    VS
    b) Attacking others because your mislead belief forces you and your cheerleaders to publicly witch hunt individuals that don't drink the same koolaid as you with that "you're not cool if you don't do as i tell you to " bully boy mentality, to people you are NEVER going to play with anyway!
Know the difference between the two, which one are you? The loud shouty one throwing toys out of the pram? or the curious one that has questions and is willing to hear the answers?
    Let me know!

Some people take a game way too seriously. In pvp I have recieved death threats and other salty whispers, in dungeons "yall are S$#% *drops group* after 1 wipe. What this has done is cause newer players to say "well if this is how "endgame" players act I don't want any part of it. Newer players don't try and legit groups can't get new runners. No one wants to play a game that's like applying for college, here's a long list of hoops you have to jump through to join us, required addons and people just say "I'll pass".

Exactly man. This is why I never was able to do a trial until the group finder. Seems you needed to be in the top 10 of a 500 man guild to do a trial before.

If you want to do HM, Vets, trifectas, speedruns, etc at the fastest speed possible then join a group that wants to do that. For the other 95% of the players, they are interested in learning the mechanics, having fun and achieving what they want to achieve in the way that suits them best.
The highest DPS check in the game is 40K. If you can do that, you can do anything.
I can't understand why, every time you do one of these videos, you get a sweaty try hard saying that only one build is acceptable if you want to play with them. It's absolutely going over their heads that WE wouldn't want to play with THEM, because it would be no fun at all. And guess what, we find lots of people to play with that think the same way we do.

I wish this was remotely true. Sadly most of the lower experienced ESO raiders have no intention of learning the most basics mechanics of anything. Some do but most do not. Example being vSS tombs, literally the easiest mechanic in any trial and no one wants to step up. People just think that HA builds can carry them to the end and sadly that’s not the case anymore. Also no such thing as a “Dps check” unless you’re skipping mechanics because almost all content was made when dmg was sub 80k. vMoL 3 pad burn I think something like 70-75k min by all DDs

@mRsprinkl1 And you, my friend, are part of the problem. You even failed to get my point about the DPS check in your effort to be much more knowledgeable than me. Still, I'll bet my bottom dollar I have much more fun than you 😄

    • @mRsprinkl1

Probably not honestly. I enjoy doing the most dmg and being able to do mechanics effortlessly across the game. I also enjoy helping new people that are willing to learn the game. Its not cut and dry like you are trying to make it out to be. Yes i get frustrated with new players that fail to understand mechanics but mainly because there is a lack of enthusiasm to learn the mechanics. Everyone started not knowing how to play but what sets good from average is the willingness to learn. By you lashing out on me affirms that people are contempt in their echo chamber.@@turtleswatter21

@@mRsprinkl1 incorrect dps checks are a thing , example vss portals (especially hm) you have 90 seconds to kill a mini boss w around 11m~ hp. Another example xalvakka (mostly in hm is the dps check) you have 9 min to kill a boss w 215m hp, so yes dps checks are a thing for several hm completes

I'm glad you discuss this kind of thing with your community. I'm a player who has come and gone from ESO since beta, usually don't stay for longer than a couple months at a time during major content drops or events because my life is busy with work, friends, and other games and hobbies. So retaining an ESO specific friend group or a guild is near impossible. I almost never do trial or even dungeon PUGs because I have too much social anxiety and not enough patience to walk into a situation with complete strangers and likely have to deal with that one asshole who will lose their mind and go nuclear over a mistake or numbers that aren't up to their standards, or me not using a precise meta build, or some other silly shit. So i end up just soloing all the dungeons i can and running it alone lol. I deal with that type of toxicity plenty playing games like CoD or Smite, but at least there i am playing with my friends. I'm the only one in my friend group that plays MMOs and thus ESO so i go into this content alone. It's nice to see a content creator call that type of behavior out. It will never change, to be fair, but it is nice regardless :)

I stopped joining dungeons because I got kicked from two runs in a row and I still have no idea what I did wrong. Years ago, if the group I was in died, people would regroup and discuss a quick plan and try again. Now, if it's not going fast enough, they just kick people without explanation. The last time I got kicked the final boss was at 10% health left, no explanation... not even worth it. I just solo now.

Unfortunate. I was the same way for a long time. Now I pull together teams to teach mechanics and get the clear (10,000 thanks to Xy's vids). If we get it, great; if we don't, we try again. Easy peasy.

Yup, getting kicked either at the final boss or right before. Seems to be a favorite std technique of wanta be elitest game asshats and is done far too often especially new or mid level players. Great way to kill a game, I mean isnt everyone dying to log in and play this ancient fun filled mmo today. Been playing since beta and it sure has changed and not for the best. By the way have been enjoying your builds, actually refreshingly, thx.

I think the idiots who kick people at last boss are possibly 2 different reasons: 1. they a wow player or some other game that makes people share boss loot and they kicking others trying to keep all the loot for themselves...so yes idiots who dont know loot in this game is individual and not shared unless you choose to trade with others. 2. They really some kissup who is kicking others so they can invite the player they kissing up to for final boss so that player doesnt have to run whole dungeon to get end boss rewards....could be their guildleader or raid leader or some streamer/content maker who wants end boss kills for their stream.

I love the new group finder. I can finally do trials now. They seem incredibly easy . I was surprised how easy actually . I accidentally walked into a trial in western skyrim once and cleared the first pull solo on the lazy sorc . I was wondering why the fight was so hard looked into it further and figured out it was a trial. Haven't tried one on veterans yet though.

  • @teflonbird
    @teflonbird 7 місяців тому +1

I'm willing to believe that statement about linking trial achievements. I pugged vRG where the majority of people didn't have the clear, including myself. Thought it would be impossible to do, but the two tanks had experience and told us what to do. Had a very smooth experience. Only wiped 2 times on Bahsei. Took 2 hours in total. Considering how pug groups can normally wipe on nRG Bahsei, that's not so bad. It should be fine to let unexperienced people join harder content in a PUG setting. I feel that anybody who is willing to do that content is already good enough to quickly learn it hands on.

Yeah, that's the thing with some dps players... There are two in a 4 man dungeon and sometimes they end up in a pissing contest... Luckily there's only one tank and only one healer, so we don't get the discussion of who heals more than the other or who taunts and pulls better than the other...

Lol, my missus recently started playing and she is super rough on herself for messing up, so Ive been keeping her away from groups best as I can because of these toxic types of guys.
She has never played video games in her entire life, and her and I and 2 companions (Isobel and Ember) have been able to run some vet hard mode dungeons alone, and she doesnt even have the best gear yet.
For anyone looking for a guild thats setup exactly for people like my wife, look for a guild called "the beloved" on the european servers.
All you need is to be a complete noob, low C.P. and willing to learn.
We are in the market for a couple of "elites" to join our ranks to act as mentors for specific aspects of the game, for example, I dont pvp.

The only "bad" players I ever experienced in any pug group has been players who are actually bad at the game who were carried through things to get the gear they now have and are crapping on newer players usually who haven't been carried through the same content or have that "better" gear yet. They are bad not just in not understanding people can play differently than whatever they think it should be played like, but they are not capable of adjusting to that different playstyle and "making" it work.
Most of the quote "bad elitest" players are ones who believe things can only be done 1 way. Now yes they are right that a tank not drawing aggro makes the run harder on all the other members of the team, and they are right in dungeon play that a healer not doing any damage at all makes the run take longer and not really playing that part fully....but the healer does need to heal too and only in normal runs can a dps mask themselves as a healer and the group usually be fine (at least in the non-dlc dungeons....some recent ones have forgotten they are supposed to be normal runs not harder than base game vet runs).
ESO is a game that is making content in a way to force players to grind new content for gear that isnt nerfed like most of the rest of the games gear in order to be a decent player doing decent at any of the roles and its especially true for any vet content or endgame content. So that already created best of scenario just in the numbers in the game on the sets, can make or break the ease of content for various stages of play for the players....brand new to the game players running any dungeon content will most likely be lacking any trial gear, lacking any masters solo gear, lacking the basic knowledge of different roles and what people expect them to do, and definitely lacking the knowledge of all the sets and the understanding of which are even for tanking versus damage versus new n good versus whatever they just picked up n equipped doing overland content.
The game allows queing for dungeons at level 10, which at that level people usually dont even have 1 full 5 piece set or know that they only get bonuses for wearing 5 pieces max on a 5 piece set....and yes the easy dungeons it lets them run up to level 45 most teams can carry them, its when they get the bright idea at level 48 that they can be the tank for the dungeon run....but they lack resistances of even 18k, they dont have a single aggro skill at all on their bars, and they instead have a bow on and are standing behind the healer trying to dodge being hit and screaming at the team for not killing the bosses fast enough before any extra mechanics go off and wondering why the healer didnt heal them while they didnt stand in any of the heals and died from the 3 adds they refused to hit once while they focused on the boss trying to prove they could out dps everyone in the "team"
The most micromanaging players I usually see are the ones who are so low in their own play ability that they can't solo any of the base game dungeons...and I have played every role in the game and played every class and race, but warden breton healer the most and I can solo all the base dungeon bosses on normal as a healer. I also love running random normals the most, I will always wait to be sure low levels got their skill point from the end dungeon npcs, I never run ahead of the group aggroing every mob to attack n slow down the rest of the group going to kill end boss for reward and not caring if rest of group close enough for it to count for them (another most annoying thing I have seen...those are the players I hate most, ones who leave their group behind should get put on ban list to be allowed even in randoms in my opinion...if they wanted to run it solo they could of went straight to dungeon on map and not qued for a group at all).

The new group finding tool will to be awesome. Short-story-long: back in WoW's Mists of Pandaria expansion, PvP was lit! Everyone playing that game engaged in some degree of PvP. Classes were mostly balanced, every class had loads of tools (if the player was clever enough to realize them), and progressing one's characters felt meaningful. And, instrumental to this golden age of WoW PvP, was an addon that essentially did exactly what the new feature coming to ESO will do. In typical Blizzard fashion, they tried to bake the addon into the game, failed spectacularly, broke the real addon, and called it a "fix". At which point, PvP fell off. The point is, when such tools exist, getting shit done gets much easier! :)

All the time when I heal, I get tanks who think I should be able to heal them through their not-blocking incoming heavies from bosses or elites, and DPS who think that while I'm doing that, I should also be able to heal them through the damage from the mechanics they're ignoring. But I have no problem telling them that I can't, because ZOS doesn't believe that should be possible. Conversely, when I tank, I try to get a feel for the healers output-under-pressure, and pull packs accordingly. When I die, as a tank, it's my fault, nine times out of ten.
