You're a beast bro! Just saying what I've heard from you! You're one of those hundred successful entrepreneurs I was talking about who gave me this advice in the first place!
Ok, so I adore the lessons in this! However I have a slight disagreement on the first debunking…or maybe it’s more of an “in addition to” rather than disagreement. As a founder/owner of a Theater (so doing what I love as a business), I believe you can “Do what you love” as a business owner, but you will be completely disillusioned if you think it means you will "Never work another day in your life." Regardless of what business you start, you will find that there are things you don't like or love and those things are what we equate to "Work" so for me it's doing what I love every day knowing that there will be LOTS of time that I will have to work. Basically like anything else in life: like having kids is amazing and I love it, but I still had to change all of those shitty diapers! But seriously this vid is epic for all business owners!!!
Thanks for that addition. I think you nailed it. 1/3 of the work generally sucks (especially when it's early on and you're not good at it - doing your accounting, fund raising, selling, whatever it is). So do what you love, AND know you'll have to change the diapers (do things that suck that actually make money), OR make enough passive income to do exactly what you want everyday. The better people get at doing the money making activities, the more time they'll have to spend on the activities they love. Thanks for the comment Morgan. Any specific challenges you have with running a team that I could make content on?
Yes! Awesome! One of the points you made in the video talked about having an amazing team around you. I am wondering how you always know when you have the right amount of folks in the right places. I feel like having the right team in place is often the secret sauce in weathering any hard times but I don’t always know that I have that in place ready for the hard times that will inevitably come. Does that make sense?
@@morganparry5867 Yes, total sense. This is what we do at Covalent (covalentperformance.com) - help you align the team, highlight lacks in will/skill, and let you spend your time doing exactly what you want (more on your business, or on your life, rather than in your business or putting out fires). Do you feel like you don't have enough people, or you don't have the right people? How you have you tried to solve it in the past?
Just watched this whole thing and I had to pause like 5 times to write down ideas and learnings. WAY too much value in this vid man 💪🏼
