It actually says in Hebrew not to murder The word used doesn’t mean kill Kill= taahroh Murder= tiratsach It doesn’t say lo taharog The original text says tirtzach meaning thou shalt not murder
Such great talent in this season but the writing was meh in so many cases. Don't get me wrong, there were some classic bits but overall a lot of wasted talent.
Dumb and boring sketch. It proves that verbal comedy requires great comedy lines. The fact that such talented performers as Billy Crystal and Marty Short are doing the sketch does elevate it a bit, but their performances don't save the sketch from flopping. Bad writing is bad writing. However, even bad writing is relative. The writers of this sketch were "brilliant" by comparison to today's SNL writers, who can't write anything remotely comic, or even interesting.
Agreed. The writing here was really poor. During these years the show had some great performers, who some might consider comedy geniuses, but I can see why some people called it "Saturday Night Dead".
To me, this is a perfect sketch. Two great, committed performances, and not a line wasted.
Marty was such a cute kid!
He's 34 here! Very youthful.
Billy Crystal looks good with that hairstyle and beard!
And those glasses!
i like the picture of sandy koufax in the background.
Great catch!!

Is That Billy Crystal?
Lasse Huhtala it's Billy Crystal as the rabbi and the other one is the amazing Martin Short
Two superstars. Wow. I had not seen this before.
Those saddle shoes back in the day were a real status symbol.
They did the “nine commandments” thing on church chat with “oj simpson” too
The Matrix ending.
be single, thats simple hah
