This is so much fun to do with 13 year old budding crafters! I made print plates for 4 (another adult came along and had a ball!), precut card bases and layers to print on, and the girls had a blast! I sent them home with the cards they made, a brayer, lots of items for textures, their print plate, paint, and more card blanks-all in bags I made for each girl. It was a wonderful 3 1/2 hours for all of us!
Great suggestions & ideas. I think many see how great Gelli prints look & buy the plate, then never get around to actually using it (ummm ... guilty!), but a quick & easy "multiple ways to use" video like yours may push others (and me) to move from "I've got one of those" to, "I love using mine!" Thanks for getting me to take that step !!
This was great for me. I bought a brand new second hand Gelli plate a year ago on Facebook and haven't used it yet! 🙊 You have made me want to get mine out to use! Thank you! ☺
Your instructions were super helpful. I'm dyslexic and anything where you work in reverse logic is difficult for me, but I understood once you showed the results. My only issues was that you show the results more steady, it was hard to get a good visual on some of your pretty papers. Other than that, thank you for this, I just got a gelli plate yesterday and want to give it a try.
Love your excitement. I made my own 9x12 plate last yr. but have never used it. And I found a 5x7 plate for only $8 last month and haven't used it either. BUT your excitement has got me inspired!! I have got to play with them. I really like the backgrounds They make for cards but I've been to busy with all my other new products.
Those are gorgeous! I am deciding if I want to stick with my imperfect home made one, or buy a plate. Lately I have not been using the papers as backgrounds, but die cutting them with cut fold and tuck dies
Great video, and I love your enthusiasm! I bet you've improved your video quality since this was posted 2 years ago. I'd love to see a remade gelli video!
This was very helpful and educational, I just bought a gel plate, but have yet to try it out, I don't have the special roller u used. I would like to make homemade greeting cards for the holidays
That was fun. Maybe I should use my Gelli plate instead of watching others use theirs. Thank you for all the ideas. I'm a new subscriber and I love what you did and how you explained every step.
Thank you SO much! This is very useful - great techniques. I like that it did not drag along, but honestly all of the very fast movements made it hard for me to watch. Kind of headachey now. Anyway, pulling away a little, having the camera not move, waiting for focus? Have you made one of how you use all of the amazing papers?
i love how you did this i have both plates one that i made and a bought one may i ask is there a link to were you got you stencils from would love to get some ty really enjoy your video
love it! thanks so much for the share. i just bought a Gelli plate for a class i'm taking next week and can't wait to get inky. would you mind sharing which cardstock you used and/or like the best for this technique? tia
+dlumakana if I am using it for cards, I often use 90 pound weight card stock. But if I am layering it to collage on to other things, then text weight copy paper is just fine!
I bought a Gelli plate and watched the wrong video first. She was using the brayer to spread the paint…and getting rid of all lines. I mean it was perfection! So of course I couldn’t do that and my first prints looked like a kindergarten project. I also don’t make cards and was just trying to make custom-colored origami paper for folding boxes. I will try some of these techniques instead!
Love the shimmer and sheen. Where can I find the names? People always say th details are below and I never found that info ever. Can you help a girl out?
I watched you and then tried it. There's a big bubble in the Gelli plate, and my papers all came out with an ugly round spot. How do I get rid of the bubbles?
I found out that a lot of people are having the same problem. This was the response from Gelli: Hello! When you are finished printing, we recommend you clean your Gelli® plate and pat it dry with a paper towel. To protect the printing surface when you are storing your plate, cover both sides of the plate with a plain white sheet of copy paper. Be careful to smooth out the paper with your hands to ensure there are no air bubbles in between the paper and the plate. Now you can place your plate back in the clamshell until you are ready to use it again. You can discard the mylar sheets that come with the plate. It is possible for air bubbles to form between the Mylar and the gel plate surface leaving a small bubble mark. These are insignificant and do not usually present any problem in printing. If bubble marks do show up on your prints - try the following: Place your plate bubble mark side down on a hard, flat surface (the gel printing plate contains mineral oil, so do not place the plate on a surface that may absorb mineral oil) and let it sit overnight. The gel material conforms to the surface it is laying upon - so in the morning the bubble marks should be gone. If you are still having problems with your Gelli® plate, please email info@gelliarts.com.
Thank you so much those prints are awesome and stunning and gorgeous too. I really really love 💕 this. But, I would say, and this is not a criticism at all, but the camera is very very close, and it needs to be further back. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I love all the ideas you presented. However, you move your printed samples so quickly that I hardly have any time to focus and see what they look like. Would you be able to slow it down for senior citizens. LOL!

Thank you so much. I really enjoyed your tutorial, but I must say that I really would have liked to see it in full screen.
i realize it is kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good place to stream newly released movies online?

I love that you showed several techniques. Thanks!

Great video! I am going to try this out because your backgrounds looked awesome!
Love the techniques and resulting prints, but wish you could back the camera [out some. Made blurry and small area even if I tried to enlarge.
Really loved them. Gave me some great ideas. Thank you
Thank you for this. I really didn't know how to start but I think I can now.

Thanks for the help ;o). What stencils did you use?
Fabulous techniques!
Loved your video!! Thanks so much!!
This is a nice quick review for me, thanks lots.
Great tips! TFS ❣️
Beautiful!!!
Great information - thank you 😊
Love the shimmer and sheen. Where can I find the names? People always say th details are below and I never found that info ever. Can you help a girl out?
Have you ever tried using the plate to print on a wood plaque? I haven’t been getting good results. Perhaps because the wood is too rigid?
Probably. Have you tried printing on paper and decoupaging it onto the plaque?
Great video!
Maybe you could tell me why one would want to make a print rather than just working directly on paper?
And what do you do with them?
This was very helpful thank u so much.
Great! Thanks!
May I ask what paper you use?
Where did you get those stencils?
What paint is she using?
What colours are used in this artwork
Mam which paint you take
Any acrylic paint will do!
What kind of paper are you using?
Seriously, I like copy paper for gel press!
I watched you and then tried it. There's a big bubble in the Gelli plate, and my papers all came out with an ugly round spot. How do I get rid of the bubbles?
Cut it up, melt it down in your microwave, and repour it in a container with a smooth bottom.
@@crafttestdummies But this is something I bought at Michael's. I didn't make it. The thought of cutting it up scares me.

Great I've just got mine and I'm off to play
link for that stencil?
Thank you! Hard to view that the camera was way to close

Tfs this tutorial xx
would be better if the camera was further away as you don't really get to see the whole thing
I love all the ideas you presented. However, you move your printed samples so quickly that I hardly have any time to focus and see what they look like. Would you be able to slow it down for senior citizens. LOL!
what is the thing called that you roll over it?
Brayer
Thanks very concise and informative!! Camera work could be improved though.
Great papers, But the camera is too close and there’s a glare
What is text print paper?
copy paper aka printer paper
What do you do with these papers?
I like to make cards and gift tags, but other people make special journals and collage art with them.
use them in your art work - as you would use any pattern paper
Interesting techniques but hard to watch with your partial screen and out of focus much of the time.
not clear at all when you watch
the black one was hot
I love your style but the lighting in your video....
What a shame the filming was terrible
Too much glare on your
What kind of paper do you use?
