Nice work! It came together awesome...definitely perfect for a budget build!
@@306foxbody1 if I was going to drive it as a stocker I would mess around with some adjustments and I am sure I could clean those tips up quite a bit, but it is a decent little exhaust and with parts prices today you can’t beat free!
Sounds great!
Really, this car doesn't sound too bad. I had it on the dyno and it ran good on there too.
nice exhaust rehab Matthew!
Part of my objective here was to see how inexpensively I could get this car rebuilt as a stocker. This exhaust isn't all that nice of an item, and it was a pain in the butt to rehab, but it came with the project and added precisely $0 to the overall build cost. And it does work. AND, the crap blowing out of it on startup is a little comic relief!
@@tecmotiondyno use what you got!
Stay tuned for a coming assessment of the real project cost to turn this pile of parts and roller into an inspected, registered, and insured car. Even I was surprised how that part of it turned out!
@tecmotiondyno oh yeah, I watch all your videos!
Next zero buck rehab is to scrape that nasty decal off the rear window. These cars are now past the go fast decal modstange snd becoming minor classics. Get that razor blade out?!

I swear I saw a mouse come out of one of the tailpipes when you started it 😊.
I thought that crap blowing out was pretty funny myself. Who KNOWS when this exhaust was last run, but it works.
Yeah Im liking this bad decision!! good job sounds decent to!!
It's been a lot of work but it has actually turned into a pretty decent little car. I kind of wish I had the opportunity to drive it on the street a little bit before tearing it all apart again, but I did drive it on the dyno, and there is no driving something like this in the middle of winter.
@@tecmotiondyno absolutely agree no winter runs lol
I had like 6 of those factory exhaust back n the days, & wish I had kept at least one set. 😪
This is a sort of Frankenstein deal. The mid pipe is stock with gutted cats, the mufflers are Flowmaster, and the tailpipes are who knows what, with bit long tips welded on the end of them. But hey, it was free. Doesn't sound too bad either.
Wow... Sounds great!
It’s not bad for a stocker
Guy showed me one time to heat those indentations, were the clamp was, cherry red and they will slip right out an they did
Could be. These were crushed pretty hard and although I have an acetylene torch I don't keep the gas around to reduce the fire hazard in the shop a little. My Dad would have been all over heat on this though!
I have the same year and model. I know it is silly, but would you mind adjusting your passenger side tailpipe?
@@dreally7029 yeah, it is brutal. I have since messed with it a bit, but what is really going to happen is it is all coming out and a Godzilla setup is going in. I really just needed it for the inspection!
Nice work Mathew! The exhaust clip will make a great before and after Godzilla😁
Prolly have a few extra cob webs on your shop floor now 😂
I laughed when I saw the video of the first start with the exhaust. For all I know, that exhaust has been sitting around somewhere for 20 years without being run!
