    Picked up golden ones for the Giant trance, I just painted a one up carbon bar with gold paint to match. It says 24h dry time for plastics, not sure no cats of kids will mess it up but it looks sick hanging up 😂

    hold up better 😐 they're weaker then steel for the dimensions exactly why they have a lower torque setting.

    The only Ti I have is on my BMX. Ti axle on my secondhand rear hub (came that way and it has better features than the steel) and a Ti tensioner bolt because steel was out of stock. Never saw the point in spending all that money on Ti. If I replaced the 8 caliper bolts, 6 stem bolts, 4 lever clamp bolts, 5 shifter bolts (yeah, I counted) and compression bolt I'd save about 300g. 6g would be saved from the bike and the rest would be from my wallet. Cost to benefit just isn't there.

    I bought a bunch from Better Bolts, in the same bronze color. My color scheme on my bike is black and tan so these look great, although tbh it's getting a bit exoensive, i think I've spent nearlyy $150 on these bolts so far and there's still my brake lever clamps, stem bolts and bottle cage bolts that need to be upgraded.

      @@EvansMTBSaga Absolute legend! Thanks so much! So how do you like them one year later?
      I’m a new subscriber (since the start of the hardtail series), so still catching up on older videos.
      I’m just building a new steel hardtail (Radical All Mountain Grim Ripper - maybe something to consider for Season 2 of Hardtail quest). And brakes is the only thing I’m unsure what to go for yet. Love shimano levers so keen to explore the Shigura options.

      @@vilimiryordanov8502 I liked them a lot at first, but that was when I was in the desert. I needed really strong, stabby brakes to avoid cactus and stuff. Now being in Bentonville, they're a little too touchy, so I'll be looking to replace them soon.

  • @trailjockeytj6160

    Why did you go with a gold color?! Obviously red would’ve been the first choice but I would’ve chose Oil Slick finish that matches with everything! Or just raw Thai to get all that shiny aluminum to pop! Although I guess if you get a gold chain and a gold eagle cassette and some other accents may be brake levers and so forth that would look kind of cool silver and gold!

    • @EvansMTBSaga
      @EvansMTBSaga  11 місяців тому

      It's bronze. There is no red with ti bolts. I've seen black, silver, blue, purple, bronze, gold, and rainbow. But I have a bronze chain and a gold cassette. Kind of a mismatch but still looks good

    • @Hiasibua
      @Hiasibua 7 місяців тому

      With galvanic anodizing You can't really get a pure cherry-red out of titanium, pink to magenta hues are the closest, that are possible.
      It's like pick any color of the rainbow, but then add some extra blue to it. :-)

    "hold up" to what? Technically you are only saving on a minute amount of weight as those 4 standard bolts holding your deity copperhead could withstand the hanging weight of a range rover with ease.
