This bike was a design I wanted to try. I feel good because it seems to have been restored better than I thought.
I installed my Shimano Claris groupset.

Yeah, right only a moron would do such a thing.. The new owner is a poor kid who deserve such bike and i will tell you why : first of all since he fights to be a national champion not letting such bike to rust throw on streets & letting it in such poor shape to rust !! and secondly he is poor he could never afford such bike because his parents are old and one has medical needs & treatment that is why he use the bike to compete & fight in championships on top spots to have a better life for him and his family not doing what first owner did..
@@poplaurentiu4148 bruh this is a super low end road bike, the frame is trash and nobody would ever race with a 2x8 groupset, the kid would get destroyed by anyone with a cheap 1k road bike

What is the bikes name?
It's nice to see a bike get restored and find a new owner. Irrelevant if this is for racing, grocery getting or point a to b transportation. A saved bike is a saved bike and someone can put on their own miles or kilometers, the way they see fit. What is apparent here, is our passion for bikes..some people are not fortunate enough to buy a 3k or even a 1k bike. I've had many poorly taken care of trashed bikes. I fixed them, resto-moded them and enjoyed the hell out of them almost more than off the rack new ones which I've so owned. Everyone has to start somewhere. Enjoy the bike ride.... regardless of what it is. Well done 👍 on the rescue, one more person in this world has a bike.

I agree! Even the rusted chain was restored to like-new. This truly was a bicycle restoration!

I could have used that trick a few days ago...doing the same thing to a Cannondale M300. Simple but effective.
If you have the short one from park took this works great but if you have the bigger one you might have to get a bigger m9 bolt or which ever size it is or Pedro's makes a tool just to hold the bottom bracket

the trick to prevent the bottom bracket special tool from moving is great !!
I cursed so many devils when the Miche tool ripped under 75 n.m torque thanks !!

Thanks a lot! You showed me a solution in correcting the hanger propetly. ! ;D
that tool is pretty expensive, but it really does the job well. I've improved the shifting on several bikes using this tool. Even when your eyeball thinks the hanger is straight, this tool will help you make it straighter. Now that I've plunked down the cash, I'm sure The They will change the hanger standard. In the meantime I'm always looking for an excuse to use it. And great job on the vid OP!
Don't use it on a stupidly bent one otherwise you will compromise the hanger even more, so only use it for minor adjustments which shouldn't be needed with less precise 7-9 speed cassettes

No talk, no music. Perfect. Found that saddle post fairly ridiculous. The whole frame really. Normal tubing is just fine. You want to go faster? Lose weight. Good job dealing with a tough bike. And finally, a bike repair that has a front derailer braze on

I believe he has all the gear and no idea (except painting) because as an actual bike mechanic I can tell you his methods are not effective and he uses his gear just well enough to not be hated
@@hollownexus9316 He did the job better than many professional mechanics. I corrected errors of bicycle services many times. You are embarrassingly low on many levels.
@@daniels3531 true. iv'e had many friends that still have some problems after going to the bike shop but normally it's an easy fix and not the shops fault because of how many bikes they get per day. also i'm very embarrassed by this comment and was stupidly drunk

I've been contemplating getting an old junk bike and restoring it as a commuter, for the past couple of years. Watching this video has just convinced me to now get on with my project and build it - excellent work!
where do you buy one, I want to do it, it seems fun.
Don't, it's extremely unsafe and not even worth it, only do that for the sake of doing it, but not to commute on
The cost of the parts would get you a new bike that is safe to ride

In Asia there is a lot of bikes, so a lot of abandoned :). In Europe for example, there are a lot too, but they all chained to a fence 😂and stay so for years
