    Great video that def helped with install. Precision part that fit perfectly in just a few minutes. I am very pleased with both the engineering and the implementation of this mounting system.

    I followed this video last evening on my 5.25 .40. It took me maybe ten minutes total and it was done. My front sight cross pin came out easily, one light tap and the rest of the way with my fingers. For me, the position of the 507c is going to take a little getting used to in comparison with opens, but that will come with use. This mounting plate is made perfectly and when installing it, that becomes obvious.

      The OSP has a different slide than the XDm 5.25. I'm not sure what you are asking, but this video is specific to the Xdm 5.25, NOT the OSP-2, per the video description.

    I ordered for my XDm 10mm 5.25 Works great. What about milling on the slide? Do you do that type of work?

    • @SpringerPrecision

      The safety system and narrow top of the slide make milling not feasible. We do mill for models where there is enough material to do so.

    Has anyone that has installed this plate on their XDM Elite 5.25 had issues with not being able to adjust the dot elevation down enough to co-witness level? I just installed one on mine with the Holosun 507c x2 and the dot is well above the front sight when moved as low as it will go.

    • @SpringerPrecision
      @SpringerPrecision  Рік тому +2

      The dot should not line up with the front sight, as it is higher on the slide. If it lined up with the front sight, it would shoot much too low.

      @@SpringerPrecision The 24-hour locktite time was just up and I dialed the 507CX2 in at 25 yards and there was plenty of adjustment for the elevation, so thank you for the advice. I shot a little over 50 rounds and your mounting plate seems to have held up perfectly. I checked the torque on the optic thanks for the advice and it looks like I will not need the shim I ordered after all. The XDM Elite 5.25 with the Springer Precision mounting plate is a perfect combo with the Holosun 507C optic. I cut the center out of my target at 25 yards. A very pleased customer.

    I see a lot of reviews where this mount comes loose after several rounds fired. I understand there is only one mounting screw, but what can be done to secure it 100%? I want a optic mount that is 100% secure. Suggestions?

    • @scottspringer5698
      @scottspringer5698 3 роки тому

      If you take the time to install it properly, it will not loosen easily. There is a pin in the front that also holds it into place. We can machine an additional hole and custom mount the part in our machine shop, but the vast majority of users do not have an issue with it coming loose.

    • @steveg6365
      @steveg6365 2 роки тому

      @@scottspringer5698 "We can machine an additional hole and custom mount the part in our machine shop, ....". The slide has two factory-made holes in it that allow your optic mount to be readily secured into position. One hole accepts a screw, while the other one is for a cross pin. Where is that custom, additional hole located? Is it made to accept another screw or does a second cross pin go through it? Please elaborate. The custom route may be "overkill", but I see nothing wrong with that.
      If one adheres to the "do-it-yourself" approach, can you provide torque values for all of the screws used here?
      With the factory rear sight on it, my XDM 5.25 was very reliable, regardless of the cartridge's bullet weight. Is it possible that the weight of the mount/optic could now negatively impact the slide's ability to fully cycle with some ammunition? Will different types then be required to in order to have reliable functioning? Rounds with heavier bullets do tend to generate more recoil than those having lighter ones.
      In the video, the presenter suggests placing some blue threadlocker between the mount and the optic before securing everything into place. Regardless of the manufacturer, any of these dot sights may unexpectedly fail. How does one go about safely removing the optic if the need to do so ever arises if the threadlocker was applied?
      Watch the video starting at 0:32, when the presenter begins field stripping the pistol. At around 0:40, he dry fires the pistol right before pulling the slide forward off of the frame. Is it necessary for this to be done? When disassembling my XDM 5.25 for a basic cleaning, I have always left everything in a "cocked" state. Is there anything wrong with my method?
      Thank you in advance for answering all of my questions. I hope that your answers will be helpful to all of the other Springfield fans out there!
