ABOUT JAY LENO'S GARAGE ON CNBC
Hosted by legendary comedian and “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, the series explores our obsession with all things automotive. From classic cars to supercars and everything in-between, Jay is hitting the road to discover the most exciting, weird and wonderful vehicles ever made and meet the passionate people behind their wheels. Each one-hour themed episode features a mix of stunts, challenges, reviews, and celebrity interviews that showcases the colorful history of the automobile. About Jay Leno: Acclaimed TV late night show host, admired stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, much-in-demand corporate speaker, lovable TV and movie voice-over artist, pioneering car builder and mechanic, and philanthropist…it’s no wonder that Jay Leno is widely characterized as “the hardest working man in show business.”

Jay Leno doesn't age, he just becomes more denim.
@@tpmarkham you recon she could make it long term? Jay seems like out of body driven spirit, could she have kept up?
@@tom69pl She was from the hippy days, late 60's, probably would have been a stretch to keep up with Jay.
Like the Porsches, he gets refined.
This one got me. More denim, hahahaha.
@@nicholassandoval6661 Its true, were just a few months from seeing his ears turn into torn back jean pockets
The older I get the more I come to appreciate the 911's design.
Which design? This car is a far cry from a 1964 911. It's gone through half a dozen evolutions.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH And yet somebody from 1964 would recognize any of them as a 911 immediately.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH The 911 has a unique shape which means that it's easily recognisable regardless of the model year
I love old 911's more and more every passing year. They're so timeless and elegant. The new ones look nice, though a bit big in comparison. This one looks great, except for that plasticky lower front bumper which is very, uh, Dyson-like.
what is striking is how the front overhang at 4:07 has lengthened versus '64-'73 , it's now almost longer than the one behind rear wheels
this Patrick guy is amazing, he really knows his stuff (intellectually and practically), hes enthusiastic about it, feels part of the company.
That's the kind of person you want representing your brand
Always appreciate jays garage, fun and informative.
Owning a Porsche makes everyone feel like they're part of the company. I've owned 3 of them in my life, amongst many other very good cars. Nothing compares to Porsche as a driver. If you aren't interested in pure driving, get a Lexus.
It’s his job. He’s a brand ambassador as much as a race and development driver. He’d be fired if he didn’t display exactly what you’re impressed with.
He sounds like a dealership salesman to me..
That's what I was thinking as well. There's a line between representing your brand and still sounding like a human being.
the lighting in Jay's garage is second to none. Whoever set that up, just makes the cars POP
I’m glad someone else noticed. They amount of lighting in there props to the electricians lol
they have a huge light directly above the car, you can see it in some videos
I would imagine he used show business lighting people who are the best in that business.
@@tommycasidy3031 Knowing Jay he probably uses ex Tonight Show guys when he can
I love how Jay has a conversation with his guests vs an interview.
And is so inviting for others to share in his passion. He's an infectious automotive enthusiast!
Jay was great on the Tonight Show but he really shows and shares his real passion in the garage
Usually that's the case, but here the sales rep was so rehearsed he didn't sound spontaneous at all. Felt like I was watching an ad, unlike other JLG videos
This seemed kinda awkward because of COVID he was always keeping the car between him self and Patrick
Jay does great. This guy just looks for gaps in the conversation to recite more stats. Ugh
The lighting in his garage is fantastic.
Yes, I actually prefer his "Pandemic Edition" episodes but I must admit that horrible iPhone camera looks horrible. The lighting inside his garage is really horrible.

Yeah. I bet he stood in front of the mirror a lot. All the answers were perfectly rehearsed.

I think he's just the right guy to push the Porsche brand to north Americans.....tire of hearing an overly technical guy go on about tangibles....I feel this guy gets how guys like jay feel about elite vehicles
Eh, I was getting too much of a "rapper" vibe from him. Like he's trying to sell the car to a 20 year-old kid.
@@DaveSimkus Yea, he wasn't Jay's best guest.
If I were Patrick, the moment Jay puled out of the garage, I would be running around checking out all the cars like a kid in a candy store.
Patrick didn't miss a beat. Senior Porsche management in no time.
RIGHT! A marketing blerb at every turn!
@@alk7934 He's made the seamless transition from racing driver to marketing guru!
At a Porsche Rennsport Reunion a few years back at Laguna, Patrick took the time out of his day to talk to my then teenager about getting into racing for about 10 minutes. Such a cool guy. He and Porsche are a great paring.
Not often a racing driver admits to being broke , way to be real!
He sounds more like a politician. Completely skirts over Jay’s question at 9:56 with random bs about heritage and has nothing to do with the question Jay asked 😂
Never heard Jay compliment a vehicle more than when he drives a Porsche. Watch all his Porsche videos. Especially how he smiles when pressing the throttle.
That tells something !!
👏👏👏
I wonder if he got on the phone later to Jerry Seinfeld and rubbed in what he just got to drive!
The last ten minutes are him praising the Car over and over, drink a shot every time he says amazing.

Jay, I love watching these. I haven't driven since 2008 when I was in a car accident. Prior to that, my license was suspended because I had a heart attack. Because of other health problems, I haven't had a license or been able to drive, but now my goal is to get a car and drive again. I will be 69 on Sept. 6th, and I have made it my goal to get a car and drive again! I grew up in S. Calif and cars were everything there. My first car was a 57 Chevy I had bought from my Grandpa! Wish me luck Jay...I am on SS now, haven't any money saved, but I am a man of faith and I am on a mission. It will be so great to drive again. 4 of my 5 grown children live out of state and I will drive from Reno to New Jersey, Oregon, and S. Calif, to see them and my 10 grandchildren. Thanks so much for this show. It has been my motivation.
Good Luck.
That's amazing to hear.
I hope you got out to drive!
I was getting worried he would not mention his F1 but right near the end Jay does it. Thanks Jay you almost had me there.
Porsche is a brand that listens to their customers and gave them the manual back. Great
You do know that this car has paddle shifters.
@@rayray7405 they make it in a manual too.
no they dont. they want you to buy a car without test driving it.
@@rayray7405 Please don't comment if you don't know what in the hell you're talking about.
@@FenrirYT13 Why should they let you test drive it? Everybody already knows this is an awesome car, there's way more demand than supply (so they don't need to), and those that actually get to buy it don't want to buy it if it's been test driven. That's the way it is with cars of this caliber and the types of people that buy them. Mine arrives in 4 months and I can tell you right now that I don't need to test drive it and I don't want anybody else test driving it before I buy it. We all know it's amazing.

I liked how Patrick always gave Jay just enough info to process and that kept the conversation flowing. Patrick knew when to let up and allow Jay to catch up. That gave Jay the opening to compare all of his 911's to this one. Perfect balance between Patrick and Jay.
jay is probably one of the best car dudes ever. he just has a great way of describing cars that only comes from his vast experience with so many different ones.
Some time ago someone spoke about Mr. Leno and his car collection and how his relatively large personal wealth had allowed him to indulge in his interest in a way most of us could not imagine. At the time, Mr. Leno's car collection was around 250+ vehicles and his motorcycle collection was slightly larger (I think). He has made it possible for everyday people to see and get a 'feel' for vehicles they had not even heard of until they watched the video about that car, truck or motorcycle.
Thank you once again Mr. Leno, we are blessed to have had you in our lifetime!
Jay Leno is a national treasure. From comedy to love of the automobile. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jay. Also, how frickin’ sweet does that GT3 sound ? Whooooo very nice

I bought a brand new Porsche 912 in April 1967 for $4790 plus tax. I loved the car drove it to California and back to Philadelphia, It may have been well made for the time but: The throttle linkage ocasionally came off leaving me to coast to a stop, the clutch wore out in less than a year, a valve spring broke in the engine, the leather cap on the center of the steering wheel came half off, the heater on the passinger side stopped working because of a detached cable. I loved the car and remember it fondly. I think having it when I was 22 years old was perfect. Only gave it up because I had to serve in the Army and the pay was not enough to allow me to keep the car. I put 30,000 miles on it though, including a trip to Monterey California where the Army stationed me for a year, and back to Philadelphia. Driving it through the Rocky Mountains then down the California Coast to Big Sur was unforgettable.
Absolutely agree. It is the most fun you will ever have driving a car. I own a 2001 Porsche Cabriolet and I love it. By far the best purchase I made. Happy motoring Jay. Keep the videos coming!

9:38 "form follows function" what an excellent description from Patrick, you could feel his excitement of the 2022 911. People buy the 911 because they like its appearance, unlike other manufacturers who change the design of their cars, and rely on customer loyalty in order to to sell them.
Maybe some people buy Porsches because of the appearance. Years ago someone said that all the wrong people buy Porsches and Mercedes for all the wrong reasons. It is amazing that, given that, that Porsche continues to build cars that are absolutely the best driver's cars in the world and have been since the 356. The cars simply beg you to drive them hard.

All four cars drove there. That's what's so cool. Stuff like that. They need to do more of.

Has been washed a good few times and the colour is starting to look a little washed out you could name it the jay limo special edition and at least it would look like it had been driven
The camera car being captured in the back window showing all the grip gear is kinda cool.
I met Pat Long quite a few years ago at Mid-Ohio when he drove for Flying Lizard Motorsports. He was a super-friendly guy and took the time to speak to my son (who was quite young then). I still have the team banner hanging in my garage with Pat's signature on it!
Ha... love it... Jay... my wife and I were traveling east on the Freeway up in the Valley... and saw all this smoke ahead... we thought it was a fire... but it was you in a Stanley Steamer... we happened to pull off on the same exit.... Woodman maybe... and there you were ... waiting to turn at the light... my Russian wife gave you a thumbs up and you waved back and said.... "I've only got one more payment"... ha... and made it a perfect encounter... that was maybe 10 years ago and I still smile.... Bravo to you...Jay... love your work and your vibe...... Joe
That color is absolutely perfect for the GT3
