      I hope these exercises help, as *both* of my shoulders have been out of commission since April. 😩 I've been through physiotherapy and it honestly did squat. It only seemed to exacerbate things. Doing the exercises just seemed to be nothing but agony. My shoulders seemed to literally blow out suddenly in late April after I did what I thought was light gardening. I know I'm out of shape, so I thought I was careful: only moved small loads at a time, did things slowly and did everything I wanted to over a period of weeks to be careful of my joints (I have arthritis and a mild heart condition). I'm normally a side sleeper, but I can't sleep on my side anymore, so I've taken to sleeping on my back as that's the only position that doesn't hurt like blazes. Some of the first bouts of "Holy sh*t, that hurts so effing much!" have since gone away, but my mobility is shot. The exercises you guys suggest are very different than what my physiotherapists gave me, so I'm going to try what you guys suggest and see if it keeps me from a future of possible surgery or cortisone shots.

    Off topic, but I chased you guys down in order to thank you for your knee pain videos. Long story short, degenerative joint disease in my knee had me contemplating a total replacement, which is for several reasons financially prohibitive, as I could not work for months. I recently exacerbated it trying to tug a too small overshoe onto my foot. Your videos addressed patellofemoral pain syndrome and recommended the use of kinesiology tape. As OTC medications, rotation of heat and cold, and kratom all did nothing for the pain, I gave it a shot, and was *freaking amazed*. Two days now, my pain has been reduced by at least 50 percent, including walking downhill. I still can't flex the knee more than 30 degrees, and certain postures are impossible (kneeling, squatting). But I sprung for exercise bands as well, and will be implementing your strengthening regimen tonight. I humbly thank you.

    Hi

  • @aresmars2003
    @aresmars2003 Рік тому

    Great start to try! I fell on ice 8 months ago, landed hard on right arm, and can't do any motion of arm above horizontal without pain (mostly no discomfort below that, although arm around back also pain), so hopefully if I ease into some of these it can slowly get better. I'm afraid if I fall again next winter, I won't be able to safely catch my weight and will hurt myself worse. I suspect some of it was a loss of motion before fall, and I just didn't notice. My right arm was always tighter than left, but also stronger.
    I was never diagnosed exactly but at a free annual checkup in April, doctor said probably a rotator cuff injury, and that I'd need to do stretches to recover range of motion. I'd have to pay more for any more detailed diagnosis, and I didn't want to with a $7000 deductible. I've not done much so far, just avoid the pain. Maybe I'll make a daily chart to check off to help.

    About the rubber tip:. What if you got a couple of hand balls and cut an X in the side and slipped them on the ends of the stick? If you can slip them on the the edges of the ball sticking out, so you have four "V" sticking out, you can staple the Vs onto the stick and wrap electrical tape around it to make it more presentable.
    OR... You can cut the ball in half, place the stick inside half the ball, draw a circle around the end of the stick to mark where the end of the stick will go, cut from edge of ball down lengthwise in several places to the edge of the circle you drew, cut "V" shapes so the strips won't overlap, then place the stick in the ball, staple the strips on the stick and wrap electrical tape around them. This way, you can use one ball for both ends. Or you can use two balls and double up to make it thicker.
    OR... You can use a pair of sylicone gloves, cut the fingers off, stick the finger in the stick and wrap it. If you're using glamorgloves (thick rubber cleaning gloves), you can stick the pinky finger on...then the index finger, then the ring finger...then the middle finger and then the thumb, and wrap with electrical tape.
    OR, you can use silicone pot holders cut down to size.
    Or...you can buy chair leg tips.
    OR...and this is a cute one...baby sneakers! Wouldn't they be cute? If you can't manage to sneak into your kid's house and slither into your grandchild's room and pinch a pair of old baby sneakers: I'm sure a thrift store would have them. Or just go to Walmart and buy a pair of baby sneakers. It may make Thanksgiving less awkward when your guests find your stick and begin questioning your source of rubber tips.

    To help you with the lie/lay problem just think lie as present and lay as past so I lie down every day. I am lying down now. Please lie down on the bed.
    Yesterday I lay on the bed. But I didn't lie on the floor.
    Last year I lay in bed for 9 months.
    Lie down on that table please. He is lying on the floor
    Lie down in bed and relax.
