Honest Trailers always pull their punches when it comes to Disney’s Star Wars. It became evident with The Last Jedi: instead of making fun of the many bizarre plot points of the movie they focused on the fan backlash.

yes and no. they both didnt have the best start. ashoka was introduced horrendously and was super annoying for a bit (she was barely 14 so cant really blame her) but she got better with experience till she became what she is today. one of the biggest fan favorits Iden thou is weirder. her game was good and the character thou kinda rushed (ending) was solid. her issues a few things. her being EA related, the fact that she defected almost immediately and that her outside showings in comics etc are both rare and haven't been the best. people like her its just not as big of a base as ashoka. shes wildly underused, hell that hole sect is wildly underdeveloped in general in all honesty so it ant her fault just bad luck.

lets see the magic of good writing. Example 1: Ashoka Tano was introduced as a boring by the numbers Character in a terribly written movie, Result? Fans hated her, second only to Jar Jar. Example 2: Ashoka Tano was put into a well written narrative as a headstrong yet compassionate hot head that was flawed but lovable. Result? She became one of the most beloved Characters (not just female characters.) in the entire Franchise, To the point that many have said that her and Vader in rebels is amongst the best moments in all of Star Wars.

Played the game the last two, three weeks and had a lot of fun. Don't understand all the hate it gets. It's not perfect, but I enjoyed the worldbuilding, the characters and the storytelling. Looking forward to the last dlc.

None of those female characters shown got any more hate than the several male characters that have pissed people off im recent releases. Using "but its a girl. What are you, an incel" as a shield is both cowardly and malicious. Plenty of female protagonists have come out and been ignored or even embraced by their respective communities. Just make good characters participating in good stories. It really is that simple.

The fact that this got 7/10 while Black Myth: Wukong got an 8 is fucking egregious. Especially since they removed points from Wukong for 'lacking diversity and inclusion'...for a game where you play as a monkey demigod fighting animal people and gods taken directly from Chinese mythology.

This is a very DISHONEST game trailer. After the Deadpool Wolverine one too, which has not been well received either. Female protagonists are welcome; poor game mechanics, basics like swimming being removed and, falling out of environment are not acceptable in a £70 AAA product.
Well to be fair the live action one put me to sleep faster than any sleeping pills available in the market. She was so boring she single handedly corrected my sleep schedule.

Example 2: Ashoka Tano was put into a well written narrative as a headstrong yet compassionate hot head that was flawed but lovable. Result? She became one of the most beloved Characters (not just female characters.) in the entire Franchise, To the point that many have said that her and Vader in rebels is amongst the best moments in all of Star Wars.

@@braccc2640 I especially loved the unfinished textures, endless deserts, no mini map, shitty stealth that was either too easy or impossible, the making the main character manly, and the not being able to do outlaw things as an outlaw. Besides that it was a game at least.

They mentioned the game’s generic gameplay and general mediocrity so what more do you want? Calling a game crap just because you really don’t like the publisher is not being a good reviewer.
Played the game the last two, three weeks and had a lot of fun. Don't understand all the hate it gets. It's not perfect, but I enjoyed the worldbuilding, the characters and the storytelling. Looking forward to the last dlc.

nothing about bad ai. nothing about only stealing from the guys u fight.. even though ur supposed to be an outlaw. man u could have gone so much heavyer in to this.
None of those female characters shown got any more hate than the several male characters that have pissed people off im recent releases. Using "but its a girl. What are you, an incel" as a shield is both cowardly and malicious. Plenty of female protagonists have come out and been ignored or even embraced by their respective communities. Just make good characters participating in good stories. It really is that simple.
It's not that we don't like Female leads, its that we don't like poorly written Female leads.
That they also make Manish for no reason with the excuse "softer features are harder to make" even though it was easy to do 5 years ago.
Yeah, I don't remember people hating female characters like Ripley from Aliens, Sarah Connor, Lara Croft, or even Aloy from the Horizon games.
They know this. It's just a weak attempt to get attention without making the effort to earn it now. Make a good product and people will by it. If they don't find anything to interest them in the characters, then they won't care. It's that simple.

IGN giving this game a 7/10 is more subtle in being sellout than this "honest" trailer.
Dude the problem isn't female characters. It's that the ones star wars has put out recently have sucked. Ashoka is honestly my favorite character in the franchise.
The fact that this got 7/10 while Black Myth: Wukong got an 8 is fucking egregious. Especially since they removed points from Wukong for 'lacking diversity and inclusion'...for a game where you play as a monkey demigod fighting animal people and gods taken directly from Chinese mythology.
7/10 games are really good. This isn’t even a 5/10.

This is a very DISHONEST game trailer. After the Deadpool Wolverine one too, which has not been well received either. Female protagonists are welcome; poor game mechanics, basics like swimming being removed and, falling out of environment are not acceptable in a £70 AAA product.
Want a real honest trailer? Go see Mauler's review is actually funny and honest.
At least the obligatory de-aged original trilogy cameo doesn't break the immersion because everyone is already in the uncanny valley.
