Alex has the best reviews much appreciated! I have the last gen audi a6 and bought it with 80,000 miles thinking i could drive it for a year see what its like and sell it. Its now year 3 and i'm on 122,000 miles and probably going to jump into this gen A6 such a great brand. Great mix of luxury, design and performance for price.
Give it a few years and get a used one at a greatly depreciated price.
@@3ducs I always buy used
Previous gen facelift S8 Plus is my gem. That was the peak imo.
Of the three big German saloons, this is the best looking by far. And is more understated than BMW and Merc too.
There's also the Panamera
@@andreasenache135 I feel like the Panamera is more in league with the Quattroporte and AMG GT 4 Door
@@serevine9730 the quatropporte dont deserve to be on the list
Ima tell you a secret. If ever you're going for a German. Skip the bmw and merc. Go blindly for the Audi. It's the best. Everything is tested in audis before going to porsche. Audi's the real brand that deserves all the credit.
Congratulations on 1 million subscribers I thoroughly thoroughly enjoy your in-depth videos thank you so much keep up the amazing work
3:58 you can actually see it propping up the outside of the car on the turn!
I owned a 2020 S8 and it remains one of my all time favorite daily drivers. It is remarkably better than the 7 Series that I had for a brief overlapping period.
For me, this Audi looks better than rivals like the new 7 Series 😅😃👌. And personally, I also love those thumbnails :D
Definitelly...👌🏼
💯
well tbf the 7 series is just simply... ugly
Same here
Always been a fan of the S8. Great review
I have a 2016 S8 tuned with APR and I am in love. Very happy with Audi and the V8 branch!
Understated design, silver paint, 5 spoke wheels, and it can go like stink all day effortless. A true German luxury saloon.
Ok the So is beautiful. I fell in love with the luxury speed barge , fast, nimble and understated.
I like how the proportions on this car still work and it's a 3 box type of sedan, no silly swooping roof trying to be a fastback, just a classic sedan !
Loving the spec with the silver color and wheels and the chrome all around 😍
At first i thought what a awful rattle, and then i realised its the engine sound, on the exterior shots :D
Thanks for the video! I'll have one anytime over it's competitors and in black thanks.
Have a tuned 2015 and must say you are spot on. It’s one of the best all around do everything cars on sale. With the tune (ds1) it is shockingly fast while having the comfort to slug off 600 mile trips with ease. Great great car
My Audi was awesome when it was new. Once it aged a bit, it was a maintenance nightmare.
That's not a bug, it's a feature!
@@bobdobbs69 lol, not good.
Nice review, well done. (And no Henry gushing over a Porsche).
wow that bubbly muffler sounds is amazing
Alex, do you have multiple colours of the Outlaw??!!!
We need more reviews with Alex!
I met him once on the street and he was the nicest chap ever!
Alex, I miss your videos. You're the best.
That V8 does make a cheeky rumble... 😛
Alex always does a great job!
I've become a big fan of this guy! Heck of a presenter. Loved this.
You should check out the older videos on this channel when he was the main guy! My favorite is the Rolls Royce wraith video, look up Rolls Royce wraith xcar. It’s him in London and it’s an amazing video!
I agree he makes quality reviews!!
So down to earth it's refreshing
The last model was one of the only 4.0 tfsi engines with active mounts I believe
C7 RS6/7 also had active engine mounts with the 4.0 TTV8 TFSi engine.
Was waiting for ‘waft’ word. Nice review.
Audi has a complete handle on the big grille design
I find the use of hyperboles reminiscent to that of his Genius Dr. Jeremy Clarkson, and it is the way I enjoy watching someone who loves cars talk about them
When you put your foot down it does this…
Proceed to advertise
Haha love it 😊
I very rarely disprove of facelifts but I have to say I prefer the older model. I think its the lights that look like several generations previous!
From the front it looks exactly like an A3.
I agree, it just looks like a bigger a3 especially from the front.
Alex the best!!! 👍
Great review…. especially “piano surface” comment, my feeling exactly. Who wants to be monitoring your guests while maintaining a tidy visual environment, not me. there has to be a better surface material.
Sounds amazing

Loved the S8 from about the car chase in Ronin.
4:00 clever suspension in action ❤️
Auction? Where? Didn't find any auction!!
@@Mvrk63 ;p
I think the reason i can't take to this guy, is he always seems to be doing a
'Richard Hammond' impersonation. I get that the car presenter world has a specific presentation style all stemming from top gear, but he lays it on bit too thickly. That's why Jason Camissa is so good, he has a unique presentation style.
The irony in a marginal automotive 'journalist' criticizing people that 'dribble for a living' is certainly not lost on me. What a wanker! The good thing, as that deep down, he certainly knows that he can't afford this car, so he's literally talking about himself.
Adam sandler
I would undoubtedly take this over the 7 series
I like your jacket!
D4 Facelift, what a car!!
Some a fine machine.
Damn that interior is straight up fingerprint/dust collector. Might as well call the car Audi: Piano Black lol
@carfection - when is your Lotus Emira review coming out??
They might be doing some creative editing since Jethro B. hated it and Chris H. loved it...
@@juangaviria5723 Chris is compromised at Top Gear these days. He's never going to tell the truth as long as he's paid not to. Especially if it's a British mark.
A car made to be driven in and the back seats aren't heated? They must be and it wasn't mentioned. I had an '87 5000CS that had back seat heat.
I've owned the Audi S8, the Mercedes S600 and currently drive the Genesis G90. I have to say the Genesis is awesome and I still have $50 grand in my pocket... :)
If you don’t mind me asking sure what was wrong with the Merc?
@@haberdasherrykr8886 The Mercedes was a beautiful car that was custom painted at the factory (1 of 1). Luckily I had a full warranty on it, for it was in and out of the shop numerous times throughout the 4 years I had it. V12
@@gregmacmann1647 planned obsolescence is a crying shame
Audi S8 looks the most dashing saloon !
If they ever do a sequel to Ronin, I hope this makes it in.
Nice to see Chester Bennington alive and kicking about in an Audi
This guy does a spot on impression of Richard Hammond.
Still a thing this big saloons? Gezzszzz...nice toy!
Most underrated car. Way better than the 7 series. S class still king though
mitico il personaggio di XCars!
I’m gonna need more grill.
How much more?
All of it.
Stroopwafel, yes!
I thought the A 8 had the biggest grill of 7series and Sclass
BMW 7?
Mercedes S?
Audi 8?
which one would you choose?
Mercedes should make this as their benchmark to reach foe their cars and does BMW....
My 4.2tdi A8 was the best car I've ever owned
Was, until the intake ports clogged with carbon buildup. Ask me how I know.
So nice 👍
How long before it breaks down?
Just before the warranty expires. As designed.
They should make a rs8
Chester Bennington is back
An S8 makes wearing an ascott in a leather jacket completely natural behavior.
I like the S8 I do, but it's all ready out of date. If you had the money to buy this, then the E Tron GT is a serious rival at a very similar price point.
ok but they sell none of these. I live in a very upscale community (I'm not especially wealthy) and commute to work in a big city and the only A/S 8 cars I see are taking up space on the audi dealer's lot. By comparison, I see loads of BMW 7/8 series and Merc S class coupes/ coupes and SLs.
SUVs are basically obesse cars, 90% of people that have them dont need the extra space, weight
All the families that I know that have them often have them packed with lots of kids, stuff for hobbies, luggage for trips away etc.
I didn’t want one when i came to change my older SMax, looking at cars like the A8 etc but you can’t get enough stuff in them for my hobbies and day to day life and estates never have sliding, individual folding rear seats which I often use so I ended up getting a Q7 Vorsprung which is like a limo with more luggage space and a lot more flexibility
I like your scarf
Wish they had a plus version. Pity the previous generation is better looking and even quicker.
Stroopwafels
Hello Alex if You like to receive the "Dutch Stroopwafels" let me know. Kind regards Rinus
Could someone answer this?: why isn’t there an RS8? Hyper performance with hyper comfort, no?
Because the S8 already uses Audi's most powerful twin turbo V8 engine, same as the RS6 and RS7
@@t8506 Oh! Thank you ☺️ What about the V10 from the R8? Twin turbo that no?
@@GiovanniiRosa V10s are heavy, expensive and inefficient compared to V8s and there wouldnt be enough demand for Audi to even consider it
@@t8506 ohhhh!! I didn’t think about that, I was just thinking the most horsepower! Very good point, you cleared that up for me 😊☺️ thank you 🙏
RS8, BMW M7, E63 AMG Coupe. That would have been lovely.
A Good car but , sorry Carfection; I do prefer the S class. The 2021 version is impossibly elegant yet the grille is upright, imposing & stately.
Then the interior is like the Royal Opera house but it met NASA. The BMW, well this new one is too crazy but the 2020 one is solid.
My issue with it is that it still looks a 2013 car.
I’m surprised that with today’s technology that manufacturers are still using actual window blinds and not an electronic privacy system that darkens the windows. Obviously you wouldn’t use it on a cheap car but a luxury vehicle would not be out of the question.
Just reduces the profit margins, so you'll get old fashioned blinds, and like it!
For me, the most boring Audi next to the Q5. Big bland slab of a technology feast. However, the review by Alex is just the best. And oh, those subtle rumbles of that V8. Man, oh man. Audiogarsm.
The chainmail grille is the comedy part.
I’m sorry, but whoever is designing the thumbnails these days needs to stop
Ive promised myself one of these since Ronin, just never got round to pulling the trigger. Oh and never buy a new one, they depreciate faster than anythng I know of.
This guy seems like he's doing a paraody of a cliche car presenter.
He sounds like he's trying to be far more sophisticated than he really is. Which is typical for an auto journalist these days. He probably can't even afford an entry level Hyundai.
This looks extremely dated now compared to the new s class and upcoming 7 series.
It's better looking than 7 series but also looks like a streteched a4 which isn't a good thing
What a great used buy 3 year old 35k 👍
This is a quite uninspired and disappointing video about the fantastic Audi S8. There would be thousand different things about this super modern luxury car, but he didn't even explain the amazing 48 volt "curve/carving" function of the S8 at min. 4:00, which is like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Active Body Control system.
you have made my choice...no MB nio BMW its this AUDI 😅😅😅
Can Audi stop with facelifts already and be courageous as Mercedes but not outrageous as BMW.
Are we sure this is a new model? I literally see nothing new about it.
Sold lol
After many years of watching multiple videos on cars like this I have realized you Brits don't seem to understand that lots of people are not driven in cars like these around the world especially in America. I have had multiple S-Classes and never had a driver and none of my friends or colleagues with the same types of cars are either. I have a neighbor who is the Chairman and CEO of a Fortune 50 company and he has an S8 and he drives himself. Car dealer I know has multiple Rolls Royces including a Phantom and he drives himself. Go to Miami, there are a hundred billion Rolls Royces and Bentleys running around and they are almost all being driven by the owners themselves. You Brits are fond of tropes, especially outdated ones.
I somewhat agree, though your examples only show US owners. Do you have experience with such owners in European or Asian countries?
And in Australia too mate. We like to drive. Only the PM and airport transfers sit in the back.
It actually sounds like my lawn mower.
Unfortunately almost all the sporty German V8's these days despite the manufacturer...Here you can blame the opf filter and stricter noise requirements...
The NEW Genesis G90 looks THE BEST!!! Can't wait for the review.
Looks dated already. Grill looks awful too.
It came out in 2016
The design is starting to look a little dated just because it's been so similar for so long.
Totally agree. Just is so behind to S Class. Had Bob first and second generation and both were special in their own right. Now. Less so
BMW… take notes!
Big mistake by Audi to go for a facelift instead of a new model. It's super outdated compared to the 7 series and even more so to the S Class.
You have a million subscribers..so does my Ex wife...😞
Totally agree! BMW’a redesign is HIDEOUSLY UGLY!!
Couldn’t care less about another boring German saloon.
But will never pass up on an Alex video.
Why the hell do you sit/drive/ review a luxury car wearing a leather jacket and a scaf, didn't the climate control work 😲
