The rs3 is not just a entry level RS, It is the embodiment of Audi's heritage. The inline-5 engine and the quattro all wheel drive
Except the heritage cars were longitudinal 5 cylinders combined with true Quattro not Haldex 😁

Another heroic video. My only regret is I’m so busy that I have a massive backlog of carfection reviews, as I will only watch them when I have nothing else on the go so I can truly appreciate the incredible work that goes into your videos.

Agreed. It's been a long time coming. This seems to be pretty much the same concept as Mitsubishi's AYC diff from the EVOs of over 25 years ago.That was a great system.
@@somewhatodd1 "The same" is a little bit too much. Evo had center differential, rear differential and two clutch-packs which were changing the gearing in rear unit. RS3 doesn't have any of these solutions, it has only rear clutch-packs which are directly powering the wheels.
Still fwd basis. Still not a real mechanical diff. Will eat tires like the haldex eats brakes. Likely won’t hold as much increase torque as the haldex at higher power levels
@@JD-op6vn Why would you need a mechanical diff? And how do you know how much torque can it handle, is there any official info about it?

Mountains in Greece makes for great scenery for such a test. I know for a fact you had a good time going uphill with that thing-though the RS3 might be a little too fast for those tight roads and short straights, so close to the city center. I've driven that same route, spiritfully, very early in the morning, several times as a stress relief.
When you say "city", do you mean Athens?
It is indeed beautiful scenery, but if it weren't for that little tease of the Greek flag, then I would have been left wondering where it was. Is this route a favourite 'lap' among keen drivers?

@@richardconway6425 Yes that is Athens, it is the route to the casino, in mountain Parnitha. I would say it is the "easiest" way to leave the big city behind you without going too far away. It is hardly a 30minute drive from the center and there is a mountain shelter to reward yourself for it. Other than that I would say big speeds are out of the question, the roads are too narrow. Just do it early in the morning to avoid the traffic jam afterwards!

My one disappointment with this car is that only the sedan (saloon) is available in the US. The hatch looks so much better.

Spot on. If they brought the hatchback here it would be my next car. Instead I'll probably go the with Golf R or maybe the new Civic Type R when it comes out depending on the specs.

It’s been a while , but Awesome review.
The cinematography has always been a cut above but this and the last review with Henry have been 4-5 levels better then anyone on UA-cam and the music was great too and I usually hate music in reviews but u guys know when to cut the music. Then throw in a world class review from carfection

Because it’s an Audi exclusive only option. Well the drivetrain can be found in some of those exotic race cars built for the road. I forgot the name of them.

Beautiful video. I recently purchased a 2023 Audi S3 and I love it. If today I were still in my 60's I probably would have given serious consideration to the new Audi RS3, but I stopped doing track events about 7 years ago. Well done!
The opening shots gave me goosebumps, even after rewatching. Great cinematography and music choice to underline the beautiful scenery.

Opening intro looks like a genuine Audi TV advert. Fantastic production quality and cinematography.
I loved the sound of my 15 plate RS3 in Nardo grey. Annoyed that the TTRS had the digital dashboard and the RS3 did not. Great build quality and what a sound. Switching between normal and dynamic is the easiest. No, I do not drive in _Dynamic mode_ all the time?!
The 13 plate A45 with AMG performance kit was faster than the RS3 and the exhaust pops and bangs were louder; even with the Audi Sports exhaust. The AMG _Sports_ button was the size of a postage stamp, so switching it on and off was annoying... build quality was not as good as the Audi or BMW, but had excellent Recaro seats.
The 14 plate M2 always felt alive. More so then the other two, but I never felt like I could push on down the country lanes like I could with the other two. You could lower the seat onto the rails like you were on the floor, which I like. I also had a spare set of wheels and winter tyres which the local BMW dealer stored and swapped for me, so another expense I did not have with the Merc or Audi.
I would have any of them again, the RS3 sounds great, the A45 would deliver excellent mpg as it is 2-wheel drive until being pushed. The BMW always felt better balanced...

I'm so happy the RS3 has completely eliminate understeering which was a big problem in rs5 and rs3 models, the new rs3 sedan looks like a perfect car to me, if a hatch was available like old(er) models in a 3-door variant I'd go for it, but 5-door kinda reminds me on sportback which I kinda don't like, and the sedan reminds me heavily on rs4 b7 sedan which I had (for exactly day less than 6 months when I ended it's life with a kiss with the tree :P) and I just love it

Ah... so this is one of the rare "good" (handling) RS models. Excellent!!!
He mentioned the car being affordable on more than one occasion and even said it costs £45k. It doesn't. It's £50k in base spec. Add on the necessary packages and trim levels and you're easily in the 60's. This may be the most affordable RS car, it certainly isn't in any way an affordable hot hatch.

First, great video...beautiful. I can't get over the profile of this thing no matter how many fake vents and angles you slap on the front end. You can tell at the bones this thing is a FWD economy car with the engine pushed toward the front. The M2 is inherently far more aggressive and clearly looks RWD.

Pleasure to watch. Great edit. Wished there was more of this creamy/dreamy vibe with more focus on driving this car thru tight corners, with shots from inside like you did with 911 manual, so that a viewer could have dreamed into driving it himself. Less words and more organic feeling. Think more people go for sensations than tech data and not many people could deliver that. Although there is plenty of content creators nowadays.
I for one like the details and don't mind it blended with the imagery. I do however think the tech is more smoothly delivered by Henry than by Drew.
Another tremendous video. Carfection consistently hitting it out of the park.
I usually don't pay attention to lighting gimmicks, but I have to admit that "RS3 🏁" Easter egg in the headlights was pretty neat. 😁 But the "increasing revs downward" graphic in the dash is a bit counterintuitive. 🤔
Also, please don't call nearly-vertical black plastic trim pieces with strakes "diffusers." I know that's what Audi's media info packet might call them, but it is plain to see that it has zero aerodynamic function and is simply a styling panel. Sorry, pet peeve of mine 😅
Man, I could die for this hatch. There is something about fast hatches that gets my blood pumping. Even more, than, dare I say, "true sportcars".

I specifically got the Golf MK6 R over the MK7 R because i hate the digital dash.
I think manufacturers are missing a trick (although a cost dilemma for them..) by not offering limited edition 'analogue' versions. If we think about those Porsche 911's from 30 or 40 years ago that now fetch silly money, they're the ones with hound's tooth cloth interiors and paint schemes that pay homage to race colours etc.
Having worked for VW/Audi when the Mk1 GTi was still a daily sight, i'd gladly opt for a modern sports version of the Golf/A3 etc with some proper retro touches. Tastefully done... not the Civic CRX interior in this thing! 😬😆
Thats exactly what i love about alfa romeo guilia and stelvio. I don't mind at all the absence of a big digital screen behind the steering.
