- Just how much will a Massey Ferguson GC pull? In this video we test the static pulling power of a GC1725M tractor. We found the max pull to be about 715kg or 1575lbs which for a tractor of this size is pretty impressive. We've tested larger tractors that barely beat it. Great Video, Thanks for Sharing this Video on the Massey Ferguson GC1700 Series - The Best Sub Compact Tractor in the Industry!
Great Stuff! Interesting what the GC1723E versus GC1725M or GC1725m vs 1526 vs 1825E. Cool idea and very interesting test!
As always Doug it means a lot coming from you.
I am literally laughing right now. I am SERIOUSLY considering buying a MF 1725M as my very first (and hopefully last) tractor to do some driveway maintenance and materials handling. I'm talking like I may go pay for it TODAY. But I've been waffling over stepping up to the the MF 1526. I won't go into all that. This morning I've been wondering if such a tiny tractor with dinky little wheels as the 1725 would pull a box grader up my hilly driveways. I decided to consult the oracle of UA-cam to see if I could find anyone who videoed using the tractor to grade a driveway. Before I could even type in the search term up pops your video with a static pull test. WONDERFUL! I'm grabbing my checkbook and heading for my local Massey dealer. Thanks for easing my mind. And I've enjoyed watching many of your videos as I sifted through the list of candidates and learned about tractors and implements. You've been very helpful. Thank you.
Glad we can help and thanks for watching. Be sure to let your dealer know that we helped in your decision. Love making a new dealer friends.
That's a new tractor, after about 50 to 100 hours, my little red beast (GC1723e) did far better than it did at the start. Perhaps y'all can do a test again on one that's been broken in.
This little tractor has not stopped surprising me.
Thanks for the suggestion. Next one that comes in on trade we'll try to retest.
Whenever I use mine with the box blade I always fill the bucket full of gravel too so you get a little better traction
Hey Nick, I've always wanted to know the difference in pulling power of a larger 2wd vs a smaller 4wd. The purpose being, if I'm on a budget, should I get a smaller 4wd or an older larger 2wd? Like this GC17 4x4 vs a 2wd 1726 or 1825? Basically how much extra weight do I need to make a 2wd outpull a 4wd? Thank you!
Hmmmm I don’t often have 2wd tractors but I suppose if I used a tractor with 4WD off it might tell us what we want to know. Let me see if I can’t figure something out in the future.
@@prequipmentsales thank you very much! I appreciate the willingness.
Was that in 4-wheel drive? Or single rear wheel drive?
Four-wheel-drive. We were getting a true stall test.
Willmit pull a 2 bottom or 4 ft disc
2 bottom plough no…to light. 4’ disc depends on weight of disc. Remember this is a subcompact tractor
