Thanks for the review, I have two 1950 8n’s on our farm and I am considering one of these to replace them and the headaches of them needing constant work lately.
Thanks for the review. I also own a 1526, it’s a 2013 model and bought it new. Same tractor as yours but mine has the L90 loader. It only has 150 hours on it but I’m very pleased with it. It’s used for loader work, rototilling and brush hogging. The 1526’s are a nice size tractor that’ll go just about anywhere. I agree it can be stiff to get it in and out of ranges, especially if you’re on a hill. I just bump the pedal a little and it’ll go right in and out. I’ve already lost my toplink bracket just like you said. I added a little toolbox to mine behind the seat, I made a bracket that bolts behind the smv sign, it fits perfectly there. I’ll be checking the seat safety harness next time I go to use it, thanks for the tip on that and the internal filter.
Thank you for the post. Currently have 1725 and it pushes around in the snow pretty bad. Want to run a post hole digger too, but the tractor is physically a little small for that.
I've been looking at this MF 1526 and the Yanmar equivalent. After watching your video I think I'm leaning Yanmar. The MF looks like a nice little tractor but the Yanmar seems to be thought through a little better.
I just bought a new 1526. My sales guy recommend MF over the TYM. The main reason I chose is it’s 100% manufactured in Japan. Also the axel & differential seemed bigger?
What year is your Massey? I've got a similar one I bought used and we have no idea what year it is. Looks like yours, except the air filter is way out front and the transmission is manual. I really appreciated you showing the places to watch out for and where the filter screen was located. My used machine has 500 hours and I doubt it has been serviced since the 50 hour mark. I'm working on it today. Thanks again.
Im buying a new tractor this week however dealer has made me a super lowprice on a 1723 but i feel it isnt big enough,,the 1523 look like its the one i need,,,do you feel yours has enough power to run the bush hog and loader etc,,id also be pulling a small disk and plow in spring
No problem running a bucket and bushog. I ran a 5' bushog on it for 700hrs. I have traded mine since then for something larger, but miss my little tractor. It had the power I needed but each of us use them differently. I picked up hay, cut for hours. Its that in between little tractor. A four foot disk, 5' bushog and a two bottom plow will do the trick. If your plow, you have to use 4 wheel drive. If you bush you need 2nd. It was a really good tractor.
I just bought a ‘17 1526. When I removed the loader, I failed to note where the hydraulic hoses connected to the joystick box (silly me assumed they were marked!) Can you tell me where to hook up #1-4? Thanks!
Great info. Just got one and will adders those things right away.
Nice review! I am considering getting a tractor and your review is really helpful.

No PTO guard?
I clipped my fence post too. So I’ll have to detach my front end loader.

I believe my 1526 is a 2017 model. I'm almost at 600 hrs now. Time to do some maintenance!

Looking at mine, there are no marks or anything that would help.
@@TheJlbrown my hoses are marked 1, 2, 3, & 4. No markings on the joystick box unfortunately 🥺
Let me go back out and look
Facing from seat one and three top, backside two and four
@@TheJlbrown thank you soooooooooo much!!!!
You can't shift a hydro into gear when it's off.
Exactly and he’s jamming the thing in with his fist smh that’s exactly why I would never buy a used tractor
He’s the type of person that has the loader arms and cylinders all bent to hell
Why can't we shift into gear when it's off ? I got the same tractor and i want to take care of it
