For anyone who used DeX before this is an upgrade since you have dual screen. And it's a much bigger tablet to draw on compared to the smaller note series.
android has a vibrant non apple locked ecosystem. i know its hard to accept reality sometimes :)

SoulRefractor I’m sure headphone jack and no notch, expandable memory, the best displays in the business along with how customizable all android phones are. Samsung is the leader in developing everything you see on all phones including the iSheep phones.

I bet the average user has no desire to fill up their 512GB internal storage on their Note 9, I mean I can hardly fill up the 64GB on my phone. Besides, expandable memory slots are proven to have slow down performance.
@@thepolice4063 I have the 256gb Tab s4 with a 128gb SD card, I have 109gb left on internal storage and 10gb on the card, so for me expendable memory is a key factor when I choose a tablet or phone.

@@Mike-t5r9q yes i use a 5tb hard drive for video editing and backup so it should work with your phone just fine! check if its a fat32 or ext4 drive because android itself only recognizes some of them
when comparing prices always add an extra 100 for the pen if you are comparing it accuratley

Good honest review. Although DEX on a 10.5" screen alone and more so on the Tab S4 with its narrow aspect ratio would be nothing more than frustrating to actually use as a sort of desktop computer. The aspect ratio of the iPad is designed purposely for apps and production. The Tab S4 is designed purposely for media consumption yet they put DEX on it. It certainly is not needed on the iPad as multitasking on it is well designed for a tablet.
Because Apple is in control of iOS, the number of apps specifically designed for the iPad is quite large while Android has but a few in comparison due to the broad spectrum of Android tablets on the market. A lot of Android tablet apps are just phone apps expanded resulting in poor quality.
It comes down to preference as both tablets are great but I think those are a couple points to consider.

I have the iPad Pro 10.5, and I can say that it is an amazing device, but I really hate how it has really terrible WiFi and LTE, and the lcd screen is not to my liking, will most likely switch to tab s4

Watching videos, gaming, taking notes, MS Word . Almost everything. And no, im not an artist. Which one should I go for ? I dont wanna regret it later.

If you like iOS interface get IPAD if you prefer Android get Android. Apple most likely do apple event in September with new IPAD Pros if you interest in it and price hopely in september and Maybe iPad Pro 10.5 2017 might be cheaper when the new IPAD Pro 2018 if it comes out this year.

PITCH BLACK see as the current iPad Pro 10.5 will be getting updates all the way up like iOS 15 or maybe iOS 16 while the tab s4 won’t get a single android version update cuz google already killed off the future support for android updates and why would they bother to make an android update just for Samsung’s tab s4 when even google themselves don’t even have a new tablet

I just got myself the Samsung Tab S4 having upgraded from my S2 Samsung tablet. I am still having mixed feelings about it. As a writer I am pleased to see it has Microsoft Office on it so that helps. And I like the Dex app. I have to agree though that the app store for Samsung for tablet use is disappointing. That's where IS let's itself down. I had thought about swapping it for an iPad pro 11 but then I thought to myself steady on, I can expand with an SD card and when I get my keyboard next month it will be awesome together with the mouse which I already have (Star Wars one!) Plus I am due to upgrade my mobile in the summer and I can hopefully bag a free iPad as part of an upgrade deal. That's the plan.
I DO have my Star Wars laptop though. Got no desktop at the moment and I need to save up for one. The one I have died and should be in a museum!!! Ancient pc!!!! Several years out of date now.
So. For a writer such as myself what apps do you recommend for my S4 tablet?

Why get rid of the home button when you still have huge bezels?
The heels is for handling since it's a huge device it's not a phone like the galaxy note phones
it means nothing and how knows how the bezell screen will survive it it fall down
My old Samsung galaxy tab s2 9.7 had terrible slanted/wavy/crooked scrolling when scrolling text heavy Web pages in any browser or twitter etc... But it only happened in portrait mode.... Personally I prefer to use portrait mode, so I was stuffed lol

It's really easy to replicate, just browse a text heavy Web page whilst holding the S4 in portrait position, are the lines of text crooked? ,looks as though the left side of the screen is scrolling faster than the right, giving a crooked look to the lines of text when scrolling.... Like I say, the s2 9.7 definitely had this problem.... Bit scared to buy the S4 if its also present to.
Like I say only happens in portrait, never in landscape.

I like Samsung and I have their products however when comparing these 2 devices, I'll say this if you want a tablet with desktop performance capabilities and professional software you'll need the iPad pro. I didn't say want, you will NEED it! If you want a tablet for lighter use and you just need the basic on the go portability then the S4 is better because of price.

Ugh you couldn't see any icon and it made a mess of the icon pages the colors just blended in to much. On a AMOLED display with scattered or zero icons it may look nice. But that was just to much, messed with my eyes lol

Android has NO tablet support. All the apps are made FOR ANDROID PHONES and expected to work on android tablets. Just get the iPad Pro the 120 hertz screen will blow you away
As someone who owned the iPad pro, I never notice the 120 Hertz. Tbh I think it's EXTREMELY overrated. Like, really overrated. I never notice a difference. I would take oled for it in a heartbeat

What about pushing the performance of both tablets?? edit video? 4K render? things that actually matter? I would buy either one for my wife, she doesn't care as long as it can browse and show netflix, but for me as the second user, I need to know how good it is in rendering some video when it's necessary.

Not gonna lie the front of the ipad looks better (but the back of the tab s4 is more gorgeous) and i like many things about the ipad, but i just love my galaxy tab s4, is amazing and i truly dont want to change it anytime soon.
Deal breaker for me is you can no longer store the pen inside the casing of the tablet like on previous version. So I will wait for the next upgrade.

U forgot to mention the brilliant OLED display & the massive 7300 mah battery I’m getting over 15hrs use out of this great Samsung tab S4 plus u also didn’t mention the fast charging that is great it fully charges my Samsung tab s4 with the huge battery in just under 3hrs is fantastic & u forgot a lot more features etc. Anyway peace cheers

The cpu is very fast. Is from last year but it is perfectly optimised for this new tab s4, is got the same Snapdragon 835 as the galaxy Note 8 & is also a very fast device. So there was no need for Samsung to put an 845 cpu it probably would have cost £100 more with a faster cpu. Cheers for your response peace.

Samsung and Android has no proper apps for pen. Procreate, trace, notability etc. iPad environment is much more productive.
Medibang and Airflow are great on android
Its little brother note 9.has the same feature as the tablet version. And its akg sound dac.its worth it.beleve me it's much louder than iPhone 8 and 10.

Finally we got good cameras on a tablet. Almost every tablet except some ipads had terrible cameras like the tab s2 and 3.
How does comic books look on the S4 compared to the iPad pro? Does it scale well? How does the drawing apps compare?

@@aussiesul the comics look as they should judging by how they look on my note 8. I image the Samsung Tab AT would just be a bigger version of the the Note 8. As for the drawing apps, the iPad pro has better selections of apps. I'm hoping for a price drop for the S4 and the release of the new iPad pros next month before making a decision myself.

Ahh decisions decisions,, I feel the current ipad pro is seeming more superior then the tab s4 which would mean the new ipad pro set to launch in a few days would be that much greater. However 2 reasons that would make me want the samsung would be that i like playing on retro game emulators and also like download torrents. Unless I'm wrong, those tasks seem to be next to impossible on IOS/ipads. But apple's processor, camera and speakers seem to be outstanding and are almost swaying me in that direction. Would definitely like to see apple do more of a dex like docking set up.. although they do make the HDMI adaptor for connecting to a big screen i hear that they are nothing but problems.
mrportfoleyo don’t even go for ios if you want to play emulators. It’s hard to set them up and usually unoptimized. So basic games like sm64 might lag even on devices with beast processors due to different coding.
But I believe torrents are easier than installing emulators on ios. But still I wouldn’t go for ios for those reasons.
The reason you want to buy an ipad is to get constant updates(where andriod tablets struggle so much here),way better performance and better optimized apps.120hz display and stuff like that are a bonus.

rudy boumon is the same battery life for these activity (10 hours) but if you are a gamer the iPad is far better.

Andriod tablets (usually) come with worse specs. Ipad pro series aren’t that impressive looking at the price but you have cheaper ipads like 6th gen that performs better than other brand tablets at that price.
Not to mention ipads crush andriod tablets in constant-update support.

Juegos como Fornite son muy estables en iPad, PUBG admite 120 fps en gráficos medios, Vainglory al máximo en 120fps y en general los juegos se sienten mejor en el iPad Pro que en la Tab S4 (tiene el mismo procesador que el S8). Para usos artísticos quizás el iPad también sea mejor porque su pantalla es más sensible y tiene un color más natural y puro ya que tiene gama cromática P3.

koolkatken exactly, google already announced they are no longer planning anymore android updates for tablets so we already know that the tab s4 will never get any firmware updates
plus very little android apps get updated to be optimized for tablets so most are just stretched out android phone apps
I have the S3 and an iPad and can tell you first hand viewing videos on my S3 is a far better experience than my iPad. Additionally, my S3 is far more of a business tool when compared to my iPad
In android, you can use OTG for transfer huge file quickly from fd without PC, meanwhile ipad can't do that. No doubt, Android tablet more useful for business than ipad.
