This is not the problem I am having with the Tab S4 Book Cover keyboard my issue is that when I start typing the keyboard starts adding random characters to my searches and I can't fix it Samsung is no help whatsoever
I found one on Amazon that arguably looks better and is only 25 bucks. It has a detachable keyboard and pen holder. It's called the infiland Galaxy tab s4 keyboard case.
Does it use bluetooth, or pogo?
@@earlobe8673 unfortunately, as far as I've seen, Samsung is the only company that makes POGO Keyboard for their Tab S4, but there are multiple manufacturers for non-bluetooth keyboards for iPads

I'm in the UK and have just got this tablet through my mobile (cell) provider, the keyboard book cover came with the tablet, I was prepared to buy separately. The only drawback I have with the pen holder, they should have the pen clip on either side

Thanks for taking your time for sharing. It's funny, you mentioned my only concern I have, and that's viewing angle. I wish the case was designed to have a 2nd angle for using on your lap. I find the angle a bit too vertical. Luckily I got mine at a discount...I guess Samsung realized they needed to lower the original, overpriced amount if they really wanted to push productivity and DeX on the tablet.
Yeah, it's pretty good. I like the fact it doesn't need to be charged and doesn't connect wirelessly. Never have an issue connecting. Takes a little getting used to with the smaller size, but I haven't had any issues.

Just got the whole Tab s4 plus Keyboard for $150 😁 I know its old but I think thats still a huge score. Super excited for it to come. Ive been working off of iPad for a while so its gonna be nice to have the best of both worlds. Maybe play some Fortnite finally lol. Mostly I wanted it for the DEX mode when im working or at school.
The display will be the biggest difference. AMOLED is King! Glad for you!

I bought tab S4, thinking about this keyboard cover. Samsung does make a fresh new design to attach btw tablet n keyboard, if we compare btw Huawei mediapad m5. Just this keyboard cover is quite not so worth for it's price. Maybe wait for few months to see if this cover can have price slashing down or buy a used one.
I agree, the keyboard cover is high as crap. You actually get half off the keyboard cover when you buy the Tab S4 from Samsung.
Man I was gonna get this, but found out about the Galaxy book from last year. 8gb of RAM and 12 inches with stylus and keyboard for around $600 nowadays, it's a no brainer. Only thing is it uses windows 10 but that's kind of not a negative.
That's true, but Windows as a tablet sucks.
That was reason enough for me not to get it, I use windows enough on my desktop🤣

A friend works at TMobile and told me that the Tab s4 were down to $350 dollars for a few days and bought mine to replace my Tab e =) now I need the case/keyboard

Just got the Magnetic case for my wife's Tab S3, it's pretty slick too. Just not as secure.

Is there any other case or support in the market to stand the tablet in a landscape and in dex mode and equally use a third party blue tooth keyboard without using the custom made keyboard to make d tab stand while u use it ?
Samsung makes a case that didn't have the keyboard that would give you a stand in landscape. Also there are a lot on Amazon as well.
i want to PO galaxy tab S6 lite. in my country they offers the Book Cover Keyboard. the problem is, Dex feature is not supported on it. can the keyboard still be used? tab S6 lite is also have no connector like that

Hey, I'm glad you asked that. You just reminded me to buy the pogo, lol! But you actually can't use it with the case on.
Good review. One problem I am having with my keyboard - the keyboard is physically a German keyboard, and the tablet is set up as German, both in language and in the on-screen keyboards, but when I type on the physical keyboard it seems to be set up as US English. How do I set the language of the cover-keyboard to be the correct one to match what it physically is? Rather bizarre that it is not set that way by default, or that there is no obvious way to do this on the tablet.

Does the new Tab A 10.5 inch support this keyboard case? I noticed it also has the POGO pins on one side, together with those two little holes.

Does anyone know how well the Finite Wireless Keyboard works for the Tab S4 vs the Samsung Book Cover Keyboard? I like the idea of the Finite Wireless Keyboard have a removable Keyboard.
Does anyone know of a keyboard layout manual for this keyboard case? I 'googled' around, and found nothing. And Samsung actually told me they don't have a downloadable layout manual yet because it's a new device. What!? I can't believe I haven't run into issues until now, but I can't even use the 'number key'. I've tried various combinations of shift, alt, ctrl ... and I cannot use some of the keys on the top level of the keyboard, and some are different from what's displayed with the number keys. Let me know if anyone has figured this out, because it's ridiculous paying that kind of money on a keyboard, and not having support documentation for it. The way I get around it for now, is activating the virtual keyboard with the key between 'search' and 'alt' and using the special keys from there.
Holding shift should be all you need to do to access the special characters at the top of the keyboard. The only thing I can think to do is go into Settings>General Management>Language and Input>Physical Keyboard and make sure you select the Samsung Keyboard .
@@thetechgentleman I have found out it's only on the non-US keyboards where there's 3 character options per key. I much prefer the US keyboard version which only has 2 characters per key, where the Shiift key would activate the upper character. In most cases, I don't need to use the 3rd character options, but it would be nice to have a map to know how to use them.
I have the same problem, there some letters and signs that i cannot use! (Spanish) Any solution?
It is a problem for me too. The tech support on the phone could not solve my problem, similar to yours. Press shift 6 and I get a French accent not the question mark I want. Several keys do not match up. I went back to the Samsung store and the tech there made adjustments and got it working aok. But now, a week later, the board is back to its old malfunctioning form. The tech did not explain how he fixed it. Samsung needs to have a clear explanation. For the cost, this should work better.
I have a question. Should I buy the Samsung keyboard $150 or buy another bluetooth one only $50 like Logitech? Please give me an advice. Thanks lot

You can. You can use the USB to Type-C adapter that comes with any Samsung phone to plug in a wired mouse.

Actually when the S-Pen is on the display it doesn't detect your hand at all.

I haven't noticed any, the part the tablet sits in it's a softer plastic so I don't see it every scratching the aluminum sides of the tablet.

Is the S-Pen still functioning properly when the tablet is in the case?
Because I am currently using an IVSO book cover, and the S-Pen is virtually unusable - it keeps lagging in all areas possible: placement accuracy and consistency, pressure, latency.
The S-Pen works great with case. Does that case you mentioned have magnets in it anywhere? Sleep/wake?
@@thetechgentleman Yes, it does - that, I figured out, was the problem, as without it my S-Pen works fine (still, only in Landscape mode, though). Thanks for the reply, will probably order the keyboard, then!

When I first connected my tablet it connected. Then when I disconnected the tablet and then reconnected it was not there. How do i get DeX back on my tablet
There is an option to turn on Dex in the notification pull down.

@@pamgonzales8265 is it seated good? I know on mines sometimes I have to wiggle it a little. There is also a setting to automatically launch Dex when the keyboard is attached. I would check those.
It is seated tight. Will not wiggle. Looked to see how to do a factory reset on tablet and see if that would work but no luck there either. I really liked having a keyboard but right now it is useless to me.

Are the speakers muffled by the case? I've read people saying it does not sound as good with the case on.
It actually doesn't. There are perfect cutouts for all four speakers.

I can share the issue I personally had ... my keyboard case had tiny plastic strips around the case (like you see on most Samsung phones). I had no idea the holes were blocked with plastic. So when I cranked up the music, I was getting a horrible, loud distortion, because the air pushed out from the speakers was actually rattling the plastic. So I pealed the plastic away, and everything was fine ... the speakers sound incredible. But I wonder how many other people who picked up this case, didn't notice the plastic tape over the speaker holes, and took their Tab S4 back for a refund or exchange.

Watching with my tab s4.. I have 2 questions to ask, does this tab need a tempered glass ? Will it not affect the S pen function ?
I don't think it does a along as you have some sort of cover for the screen when you're not using it. If you do it shouldn't affect the S Pen functionality because the tablet actually detects the pen before it actually touched the screen.

I'm not sure about the pressure. It shouldn't though.

My samsung pen keeps on dropping out of keyboard case. Seams the hole is too big. Anyone else with the same problem?
Are you pushing it in until it clicks?
@@thetechgentleman I pushed and pushed, but no click. Seams there is nothing to "produce" that clicking.
@@thetechgentlemanyou're right, it has to click! So, thanks to you, I payed a visit to Samsung shop today and got a replacement that does click. So, it was only my bad luck to get a keyboard with fault part.

Happened to me four-five times as well. The solution was pressing it stronger with all the power.

Where does the pen charge ?
The pen doesn't need to charge. It gets power from the tablet screen once it gets so close.
@@thetechgentleman really ? Didn't know that, I thought because of the low energy bluetooth it needed charging somewhere else but that's cool
@@kostas_n Yeah, it's pretty cool. It uses a Wacom tech. That's actually how all the Samsung pens work. Even the newer ones that have Bluetooth in them still work on the screen when they die.

It won't fit. Even though they have the same screen size the Tab A has bigger bezels and is thicker than the Tab S4.

The keyboard stays exposed, but since the keyboard is powered by the tablet it won't work while it's disconnected.

Good question. You actually do have to have the keyboard. It's permamently attacched.
Also, you don't have to use the S-Pen. You can actually take off the S-Pen holder if you want.
