I have to agree Melonie, Jake has it,he truly does. I love this style I wish more hairdressers would watch the true professionals, many are too old school. I’ve had three hair cuts in the last six months they’ve all turned out the same. 😩

You can get them for really cheap but good quality on Ali express just takes a while to get here. Amazon is the next best place but it will be a little bit more expensive. If you don’t wanna wait to have them shipped you can go to Sally’s but they’re pretty pricey there.

ua-cam.com/video/itsFr072trI/v-deo.html I commented once I don’t see it here, but if it does show up, here is his video I mentioned where he links the chunk texturized scissors in the description and he will get a cut 😂 Incase your not familiar click the teeny arrow lookn button ^ (but facing down lol) and it will drop down to the description of the video and there are the links😉 my other comment had the direct Amazon link ..you can also switch over to the smaller texturizer scissors I believe too

Will this haircut look bad on hair that's naturally wavy without any heating required??? I'm saying 2a waves thought and hair growing on the crown area are 2b waves.

Not at all Tweedle, what i would suggest is to not cut it to short, as w/curly hair you know it springs back a lot. So i would suggest cutting longer to balance out for the spring back. You can always cut it again if its longer than you like.

Can you actually follow this awesome technique and keep the rest of your hair very long? I'm tempted to do it cause my hairdresser doesn't speak English and I don't think she knows such techniques anyway, she's more like a traditional hairdresser. So I think I may attempt to do it by myself, after Pascha, of course, I'll have to be decent for now (just in case) ☺️🤷😉

Gave up on waiting for my stylist to have an opening. I fell in love with her when she first cut my hair and I stupidly told everyone I know. Now because they all go to her and then the pandemic, she books like 6 months out! 😫 so . . .
Just gave myself the wolf cut last night. While I loved it, I had the exact issue of not enough texture, volume, or lift at the back of the crown. After doing this cut, I noticed volume before I even tousled it! And I have TONS of baby fine flat hair that barely holds a curl!
Finally a cut that gives my pancake hair some texture and lift! Thank you for your thorough explanations!

I started cutting my own hair when I moved to a rural area, most stylists don't get my long wild wavy curly hair that grows like a weed, I rarely got what I wanted anyway, so I started with the unicorn cut , but it wasn't really giving me the volume I needed, I tried your last two diy cuts and I'm getting compliments left and right! Even though it's hard to do because I'm doing a longer version it's hard to see what I'm doing lol, I'm definitely going to add this video to my routine!

Anyways I have a huge mess in my hair where she chopped off a bunch on the left, none on the right and I can’t figure out how to fix it. Or where the deficit is. I’m hoping if I try this it helps. But how would you cut the back interior section to make the overall cut into a shag? The under layers are one length and thick. It would be nice to know how to blend the crown section into the overall bottom/perimeter.
Everyone else is right, all these students that graduated in the last ten years are only doing lobs. They are so boring and they are gonna need to take many continuing credits to catch up on their layer cutting.
What I really like that you did was that your crown section layers are connected and you didn’t razor it to within a cm of it’s life which is the only other way I have seen it done. It’s so good you kept the overall inherent thickness of the hair and didnt start going all Edward Scissor hands with razor layering which seems to be the only other way hairdressers now know how layer. SMH
    Great job.

If you ever come to Thessaloniki, Greece, please, let me know! I need a decent haircut, my hair is very thick and it needs some volume and change!!😇 I'm tempted to do it by me self but my hair is very long, I don't think I can do it the way you did it!😞

That's the same hair cut what I imagine for many times... But i don't cut because I thought if I cut that way then am I looking cool or not... And i also thought that type of hair style exists or not....
But u show that practically... And that too cool totally my type...... Thank u ❤ I really love it....
    U are really amazing😍👍

I've been cutting my hair for 2 yrs with a CreaClip, but I lacked volume. I followed you, did point cut to thin out & love it! Actually, it was doing my video editing for my YT channel that made me realize my hair was not how I wanted it to look. You saved the hairdo! Thank you.

Omg...for real, after COVID i couldn't get to my hair stylist, and no one could do my layers properly....i just did. Thank you, this is beyond amazing, i have amazing layers, wish I could post a pic. ♥️

My only concern when doing a big section layer cut like this is if your hairline dips in quite a bit on the sides of your head there tends to be a shelf-effect because there is no hair there to bridge the gradation in length, especially on thicker hair. Just be careful. You can try to blend if this happens...

Hey Angelamc142, absolutely. Only thing i'd recommend is to always make sure whoever cuts it, cuts it to compliment your face shape, hair texture & density.

I showed this to a professional and he just started tooling and he did what he wanted, like "oh, I see what you want" but he didn't so, I will try to do it myself and see what the result comes out to be. Wish me luck!

Do you have a video that shows the hair style you just did, but removing the hair off the face on the sides? I don’t know how I can cut the top and sides to blend in with the longer hair. Also can I use texturizing shears on top to give stand up volume on thin hair??? Thank you so much!!!

Hair dressers only want to color now$$$. I’ve been turned down for hair cut appointments bc I don’t do highlights anymore. I’ve gone natural. My hair is so long for me. My daughters as well.

I just did this today and I love it. I have wavy hair ( 2b-2c for reference) and I loved the results. I have volume where it's supposed to go. I love layers, but I'm not ready for a shag yet and this one is ideal. Thank you.
