Sir you need to do some tutorials for those of us who trim own hair in between full salon visits . I wish i could find a stylist that uses your techniques . I used your fringe twist technique on my ten yr old great niece and it worked great and she says she feels beautiful !!! you truly are amazing . You or someone you have taught could probably fix the poorly done cut i am currently attempting to grow out . Love your tutorials and look forward to each one !
I have been cutting my hair for several years and trying to copy things I have seen stylists do in the years that I did have my hair cut. The way he explains it it wouldn't be hard for someone to get a friend to learn to do this to your hair. It's worth a try.
Wow! You are Fantastic! In all my years that I have cut my hair and gone to the salons I never seen such Wonderful idea! You are Awesome. I wish the person who cuts my hair can see your video, she can learn so much from you!! Fantastico!!
Thanks so much for the idea of a diamond shape! I cut my own hair without any real knowledge. I have experimented with different ways of layering my thick, curly hair but the top layer always seemed too heavy. I just cut it like this and it looks great!
You makes it look so easy. The way the comb works so nicely for you is amazing. I always learn something when watching these videos. Thank you for taking the time to share
That was one of the precious technique u shared it with us with all detailed explanations. Many many thanks to the expert 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌😘😘😘😘😘💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
You’re a true master Sam and I don’t even cut hair. But I’ve had my share of BAD haircuts I’ve had to fix on myself 💇♂️ this makes me want to become one and change the world one haircut at a time.
Lord knows how I got here, but it was fascinating. He's like a scientist hairstylist. No negative comments yet many thumbs down...by whom, and why? Oh that's right....lesser stylists.
i think the thumbs down are due to the fact that its just too complicated for the common person who is not such talented hairstylist ..we obviously will never be able to recreate this lol
@@ellieengel2188 well there's the watered down version and my little hairdresser did a variation of this for me. Is it Sam Villa's exacting procedure HELL NO. Did my little gal do a decent job? HELL YEA!!
So, I’m super ambitious and risky when it come to cutting my own hair...because we’re poor and I’m generally not awful at it. Most of my hair is on the crown of my head and makes for some serious heavy floppy locks when layers grow out. I was at a loss as to how to improve my look when I happened upon this video- I have to say, I’m really rather pleased with how it turned out! Thanks for doing such a great job explaining!
Love all the unique tips. Don't know if I can do it on my own waist length hair. I am going to try it on my husband. With Covid he has given me full charge over his hair.
I have a hard time finding a hairdresser in my area who is good with fine hair. I tend to cut my own hair because of this. I am familiar with pivot point but never really learn the details in school which reminds me of your technique. Decided to try it and I have to tell you it works fantastic! But you knew that! I have very thin, fine hair where my scalp is visible in front and flat in the back. But now I actually have volume in the back! This gives me a lot more options for different hairstyles. I admit cutting my hair short on top of my head was scary but what do I have to loseI I did it and you can't tell other than I have fantastic volume! I LOVE, LOVE this technique!! Thank so much for sharing your knowledge! I am now a true follower!
Caressa Brady I use some Goody thinning shears that I bought at Walmart for under $10. Might have to cut in smaller sections than he does because they’re not as sharp. But it creates the same volume.
Jessica Hill do you live in Sacramento area? I have semi long fine blonde hair that just lays flat and curl is gone in 10 minutes so I just pull it back in ponytail
I loved that!! With my fine hair, I've never had anyone successfully add fullness to my crown without using a couple of (always) expensive gels or foams. Never achieved with just the cut. Now how in the heck do I find a salon in southern Texas that follows this guys teachings????? If anyone can answer that for me is be very greatful!!! ( I'm in the Corpus Christi area.) Doe165
Wow! I need you! What a great teacher you are. I wish I had you for a teacher when I was in Beauty School! I'm gonna buy these shears. I love the way this cut give volume and puff to the crown of the head. Brilliant. That's what you are!
I cannot tell you how good this system appears. I can see exactly what he is saying! I have actually held my hair on top because the hairdresser want to take it all off. They have actually said "let your hair go" and my answer has always been "NO." If one more suggestion is warranted, I would say, ask the client if they prefer to leave the hair longer or shorter. When they say longer, DO EXACTLY THAT! If they say shorter, don't make them look like they have a mini head. Hairdressers just are not interested in what YOU want, they were taught one way and that is, in their opinion, good enough. I am 74 years young and had at least 100+ different stylist. Only TWO were worth returning to for a good cut.
Bravo! I won't go to a hair salon because the layers are terrible and not graduated. They are cut hair at a 90 degree angle so it looks awful and then they keep going over it again and again. Your analysis and cutting are superb.
This is a well thought-out process. The way it is demonstrated is easy to understand and I'm taking notes so I can try this out on my hair! Thanks for the tips!
Formerly a hairdresser back in the day. Really enjoyed this vid. This man is much more knowledgeable talented and has an expertise light-years from most hairdressers. That's why you won't find people being able to cut your hair like this could he makes it look very easy but trust me only a very competent capable hairdresser with a gift could replicate this haircut. If you notice it is nothing like a layered cut. This is how you would get Height in the crown with long hair. Also note he's talking about the size of the diamond. His model has very nice amount on the thicker side of medium textured hair. If you were working with someone with my type of hair which is fine and naturally curly you would use a much smaller diamond. Trust me ladies I can't find anybody that could cut hair like this gentleman and if so I'm sure I'd be paying well over $200 for a haircut.
Wow ! this was amazing,.we need you everywhere..I'm no hairdresser either but your so educational, and that's the problem out there with so many stylists, they like it their way,.thank-you..
This is exactly how I want my crown to be dealt with (cos I NEED volume up there). Surely I hate the straight, blunt cut, and always request they point/spike cut, but still. However, after seeing this fabulous demo, there's H O P E for lil ole me, lol. I'll be sure to show this video to my girl in the hopes her cutting style will change, Thank you, Sam Villa!
the final effect is PERFECT. completely invisible layers, wow. It looks great with hair down, but I wonder if she will be able to put them in a ponytail or a bun
***** That was one of her wants - to still put her hair into a ponytail for the gym and on the go. We were able to achieve that and still add volume in the crown. Thanks for your comment!
WOW. I definitely could tell where the hair is cut because I am a blonde and recognize things like that on similar colored hair, although mine is natural. But it looked like she had 2x the hair she started with. I have a really good pair of hair sizzors. I often have to do my own hair styling. I have a scalp issue and no one will touch me. I am not good at working on something I can not see. But I do think I could do a diamond zizzag and layer. Thank you so very much for a wonderful demonstration.
You are a genius. I pray I find a hairdresser who watches your videos and learns. I am yet to find one who truly knows what they are doing. Especially the part where you mentioned how one can have a weaker side. With lower density of hair on one side. I have that problem, but no hairdresser to address it.
I really enjoy and learning a lot with this tutorial. Sam is best artist and the best instructor in the world. Thank you Sam for sharing. Anna from Seal Beach, Ca.
The good ones know. The shear was created by Sam; obviously not too long ago. We see all kinds of head shapes, hair density and different textures. No two heads are alike👍🏻
Zoe M ..he obviously has many years of training advanced training...not just basic license to be hairdresser..diff between $15 hair cut & $200 hair cut..he’s good 👍
Many people no matter their job choice will do the absolute minimum to get by until they find something better or get fired. Why quit if you can't find another career path and are still getting paid? This causes incompetence everywhere.
That client was holding onto those shears like her life depended on it 😅 beautiful cut! I can't wait to try this technique on my own cloents! Thank you Sam! You're a master!

I always learn when I watch Sam work his magic. Education to its highest level. Great job Sam!
I wish all hairdressers could learn this!
wow, this man is really making cutting hair a true art! i learn so much watching his videos! i went to get my hair cut at Hair Plus where i usually go, but the woman didn't even section my hair for the cut i wanted, so of course i had to come back home and fix it. Stylists should go on youtube and watch these tutorials!
Sam this is how I want my hair cut next thanks I will show my stylists this video see if she can do this and has everything to do the cut !!!!!

@@donnarutledge3386 don't kidding yourself that never going to happen, first they don't know that technique they don't learn anything like i even bring pictures to show how i like my hair cut, believe me never happened and they changed a lot and is sad to say they don't know anything about hair
I know exactly what u mean! J once had some hack hack my hair. I get home snd I had one side longer than the other donof course I had to fix it myself. Since then I’ve been trimming & cutting at home & my hair is very long 😳🙄
Not.to watch a tutorial but go back to school .
Thanks sam i use your scissors for 12 years now! never ever had a problem. happy with your products .
Thanks so much for your video Sam. This actually gave ma a wonderful solution for a non straight part on very thinning hair. It made a huge difference and you can't see any scalp.
Wow, thanks for that Sam! I need that volume on top as well. Now I can do it myself. InvisiBlend shears, eh? Bring em on. Years ago, went to hairdressers and they always told me my hair was this and that, never positive because they did not have a clue. Every head of hair is different but I believe a good stylist knows how to cut and style all kinds of hair and is able to deliver excellent results in all situations.
Love to watch you cut hair Sam, I cut my own because so many stylists can't read the hair like you do...what an artist. Would love to have you cut my hair:) I'm a nurse, not a stylist and I learn so much from your videos, so thank you
your amazing Sam! your so talented and the first thing that I thought was ...He is a hair mechanic and a damn GOOD ONE!! your doing exactly what God put you on this earth for..to make women happy with a perfect haircut ..Thanks Sam

It's so difficult to find a hair stylist who really knows what they're doing! Where can we find you Sam Villa?
No $hiT
@@janishaldeman3339 miserable are you?
Yes, that is what I was thinking. I asked for volume on top and got none, nada, zip.
Brilliant stylist who is clearly at top of his game. I will bear this technique in mind when I want to add some lift to my own hair.✂️
that hair looks amazing, you canNOT tell where the blending started or finished. seriously incredible
Jill
It's our pleasure Traci!
This woman has stunning hair!
I've learned so much from you !! Love your teaching on how to cut hair. I get so many people who love their cuts and styles . Thank you.
That was one of the precious technique u shared it with us with all detailed explanations. Many many thanks to the expert 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌😘😘😘😘😘💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
oh I must order those today!!!! I can see just how much faster the entire hair cut would be and the results are amazing!!!
You’re a true master Sam and I don’t even cut hair. But I’ve had my share of BAD haircuts I’ve had to fix on myself 💇♂️ this makes me want to become one and change the world one haircut at a time.
OMG!! This is exactly what I need and am showing my hairdresser!! I hope she "gets' this and has those shears!!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
Lord knows how I got here, but it was fascinating.
He's like a scientist hairstylist.
No negative comments yet many thumbs down...by whom, and why?
Oh that's right....lesser stylists.
Word. I just discovered him. He has figured out the science to hair cutting. I need to find out how to get my hair cut by him!
a math genius LOL
JEALous...NARcissus🎭
(The thumbs down reasons)
i think the thumbs down are due to the fact that its just too complicated for the common person who is not such talented hairstylist ..we obviously will never be able to recreate this lol
@@ellieengel2188 well there's the watered down version and my little hairdresser did a variation of this for me. Is it Sam Villa's exacting procedure HELL NO. Did my little gal do a decent job? HELL YEA!!
Sam is a greatest educator, every mostly important littlest details he has it, so much experiences. Thanks Sam. You're best.
Thanks so much Tom :-)
This is great, I started cutting my hair this way in my late teens, 43 now and I still cut my hair using this fantastic technique.
This guy is awesome!!! you can tell he loves what he does and those are the great teachers!!! I don't cut hair but i loved this video
Finally!! Someone that knows what they're doing!! God I wish I could have you cut my hair!!
Omg my goodness ! That is the best on adding volume and no lines ! I’m getting those shears and thanku for the video ! I’m following yall😀
Love all the unique tips. Don't know if I can do it on my own waist length hair. I am going to try it on my husband. With Covid he has given me full charge over his hair.
Hi! Did u end up trying it on waist length hair? I have thigh length hair and I want this but idk if it will work
I have a hard time finding a hairdresser in my area who is good with fine hair. I admit cutting my hair short on top of my head was scary but what do I have to loseI
I did it and you can't tell other than I have fantastic volume! I LOVE, LOVE this technique!!
Thank so much for sharing your knowledge! I am now a true follower!
Hair dressers do not care about giving a good hair, all they want is to get thé fut donné
Ruth, so happy for you! ^ 5.
Ruth, what did you use on your own hair in place of the magic cutting shears he used?
Caressa Brady I use some Goody thinning shears that I bought at Walmart for under $10. Might have to cut in smaller sections than he does because they’re not as sharp. But it creates the same volume.
Jessica Hill do you live in Sacramento area? I have semi long fine blonde hair that just lays flat and curl is gone in 10 minutes so I just pull it back in ponytail
Thankyou for sharing as hair dresser for 17 years..hey never stop learning thanks again you are a great teacher
It's my pleasure
I loved that!! With my fine hair, I've never had anyone successfully add fullness to my crown without using a couple of (always) expensive gels or foams. Never achieved with just the cut.
Now how in the heck do I find a salon in southern Texas that follows this guys teachings?????
If anyone can answer that for me is be very greatful!!! ( I'm in the Corpus Christi area.)

Sam, you're a haircutting genious! Amazing technique, beautiful to watch and amazing result!
I wish i had sam i hate my hair every time i have it cut i need you sam ♥️🇺🇸🙈
Master Cutter. He takes haircutting to another level. Respect.
indeed
Sam, I love your word choice near the end - "Frothy" , and it really is! Cool technique. It's rather magical.
Wow! I need you! What a great teacher you are. I wish I had you for a teacher when I was in Beauty School! I'm gonna buy these shears. I love the way this cut give volume and puff to the crown of the head. Brilliant. That's what you are!
I wish I had him as a boss when I was an apprentice, my tutors were great but most bosses were crap at teaching, not you Janette, you were great.

Very great sir..ur crystal clear explanation reveals ur thirst behind to make us learn the art of hair cutting👌👏👏👏
OMGOSH THIS IS SUCH AN EXCELLENT WAY TO ADD
VOLUME BUT KEEP LENGTH! Only going to a stylist that will Agree to
This technique!👍😁❤️🎈
I kr i told.my hairndressser oh whoccares. Noone can cut hair likenSam
Amazing shears! I love Sam Villa. He's a hair genius. He seems like a lovely person too.
Fabulous I’m a retired hairdresser this is great, wish they had this when I was working , your fantastic.
Love this man!! I was told years ago that this cut couldn’t be done and would not look good..Yippee for utube ❤
Appreciate you, thank you my friend 💜
This is a well thought-out process. The way it is demonstrated is easy to understand and I'm taking notes so I can try this out on my hair! Thanks for the tips!
Can you really cut your own hair? I'm curious how you're able to see the back of your head to be able to do such an intricate cut.
Oh what an awsome product Ssm! Gotta have those shears. Thank you for a great video.
You are such a wonderful teacher. I can tell you really love what you do. I cut my in hair so it's really great to come across your video.
Sam, you're awesome! What an incredible teacher.
Thank you Vanessa! We appreciate you :-)
WOW! You are absolutely wonderful . TY so much for sharing this hair tutorial. May all your dreams come true ! 💕🌸💕🌸
Awesome cut. I love those blending sheers!
Excellent ,professional and artistic ...very rare hair dresser could have such a sense of touch. Bless you
great teaching! easy stuff, not overly complicated with smart sections and tools!
this guy is incredible! I couldn't even see any layers in her hair at all even after her fluffed it up. I gotta get me some of those blending shears
Wow ! this was amazing,.we need you everywhere..I'm no hairdresser either but your so educational, and that's the problem out there with so many stylists, they like it their way,.thank-you..
You got me
This is exctly what ivbeen waiting for many many years its extraordinary thank you Sam wish you were in France
Wow! This man is amazing! He’s a master.
I love this hair style and its so hard to find someone to cut like this. It's beautiful
Idk how I got here but thats the coolest thing Ive ever seen.
Lol. Me as well:)

OMG! Her hair color is stunning!
You’re hairdressers genius. Thank You.
What an amazing finish! I see no line where layers start! I wish you were near meeeee!
Love that hair cut and volume she has. GREAT JOB!
I’m not a hairdresser but this guy is fab!
You are a genius. I pray I find a hairdresser who watches your videos and learns. I am yet to find one who truly knows what they are doing. Especially the part where you mentioned how one can have a weaker side. With lower density of hair on one side. I have that problem, but no hairdresser to address it.
Love your videos. Great volume results. And after all, isn't that what we all what. Sam, you're wonderful! Keep teaching. 💋
Thanks Karen! We will definitely keep the education coming.
I really enjoy and learning a lot with this tutorial. Sam is best artist and the best instructor in the world. Thank you Sam for sharing. Anna from Seal Beach, Ca.
Brilliant skill levels - you’re an amazing stylist and teaching it perfectly to boot 🙌🏻 also she has lovely hair..... you’re a genius 👏🏻😍
I started using your diamond cut during Covid and have loved it ever since thank you so much for what you do!
You are so welcome!
How can i get an appiontment to get my hair cut by this man! He is the god of hair cutting!
Sam I appreciate all that you conveyed to us, you provide us with a means to be successful, even if we are just the average person.
If I were in the hair industry I would definitely be in all of your classes!!!
Amazing. Precise, informative, easily worded, clear and instructive. How can you not learn from such expertise? Thank you Sam!
Aw... thanks Barbara!!!
Why don't hair "stylist" know any of this???? I've been searching for one like you for YEARS!!!
At who's expense?
The good ones know.
The shear was created by Sam; obviously not too long ago.
We see all kinds of head shapes, hair density and different textures.
No two heads are alike👍🏻
Zoe M ..he obviously has many years of training advanced training...not just basic license to be hairdresser..diff between $15 hair cut & $200 hair cut..he’s good 👍
Many people no matter their job choice will do the absolute minimum to get by until they find something better or get fired. Why quit if you can't find another career path and are still getting paid? This causes incompetence everywhere.
If you are not in New York or Chicago then you can't get a decent haircut. His cut probably cost $150 or more.
That client was holding onto those shears like her life depended on it 😅 beautiful cut! I can't wait to try this technique on my own cloents! Thank you Sam! You're a master!
