Def seen some issues lately, there's been an update since this vid dropped but it didn't solve anything for me...I've noticed the same crashing when trying to freeze a track that is routed to take it's audio from a VST3 as well, it doesn't crash if I "un route" the track 🤔🤔🤔
Mine freezes up and I usually lose everything so I just got in the habit of hitting Ctrl+S every time I do something. It seems like a hassle at first but when you get in the habit, you just do it unknowingly. I love Sonar Platinum and I know it like the back of my hand and I'm not planning on switching DAW's anytime soon so this habit actually saves me lots of headaches.
So there’s one issue I found. I’m making a swing hip hop type beat and I’m using the step sequencer built in. But when I try to add swing but turning the swing knob, it doesn’t add anything at all

Hi! For some reason over a short bit of time of using piano rolls (like 10 minutes) they break. They only break if I adjust the length or position of the instrument's audio.
Hey XEL, I think I can help you on a few of these issues. The Groove clip thing is probably because the files you're getting from that one guy are Acidized wav loop files. These types of files (along with REX files) have information about the key and tempo and audio loop points encoded in the wav(or rex) file. Cakewalk will always import these as Groove Clips. So that's why they generally always fit on an measure boundary in your song. When you Control-L to cutoff the looping feature, then Cakewalk ignores this information, which is why it shrinks, it reverts back to the tempo it was recorded at. So then, I see you try to stretch it, and that causes another problem. I believe when you stretch a clip, then it re-samples it in real-time as you play it back, and depending on what on-line rendering algorithm (it's a setting in Cakewalk) this might be CPU or system intensive, and that might cause dropouts. Your best solution is the one you already are doing, which is to bounce to clip, which then uses the off-line rendering algorithm, which then re-renders the clip and creates a new one. As for your other audio issues, it would help to know your audio interface as well as your computer and processor. Also, what type of driver are you using? Windows 10/11 have newer driver modes that are better than the old WDM or even ASIO. You are right to check the buffers, but also what is your reported latency? Also, Cakewalk streams audio from the hard disk, so if it's too slow, that can cause issues. I don't know if you have checked this part out in the documentation, but if case you have not: www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=AudioPerformance.24.html For the VST3 issues, haven't had any issues with them. I have some of the IK multimedia plug-in's that I can test and see if I get the same issues you do. I'm running a very old original 1st gen i7 board that I upgraded with a server chip, which added two cores and sped up the machine, increased the RAM, and changed out the main disk drive to an SSD, and it's been rock stable with Cakewalk. Even without bouncing, I rarely use more than 10% of my CPU. When I upgrade, it's only because I'm being forced to meet Win 11 requirements. Hope this helps!
The groove clip thing is good to know... I always wondered why some did that and some didn't... Always learning... The issues with the vst3 only happens with Cakewalk when I try to do to much I guess... The real issue is when I needed a project and it wouldn't pull it up due to the vst3 but worked with the regular vst.. and I had to use Reaper to open the project so that I could see what settings I used to set it back up with regular vsts but they work now I will just avoid vst3's in Cakewalk for now... I would also check if you are using the vst2 version or the vst3.... The vst3 do crash Cakewalk more for me so since I do have the VST2 versions for most of the plugins that I do have I will use those instead and have had less crashes since then... Hope this helps

one question do you need a scarlet or what ever interphaser to record without sounding robotic or delayed or is it the mic/bc i have a usb mic just bought a 300$ laptop for my vocals to sound low and muffled at the same time
No you do not need a an interface to get good sound but I have one and would suggest you get an interface as well it helps with the sound load the computer takes, that's what they are made for ... But you can use a USB mic and get good recordings ... Make sure your setting are good for buffering. The lower the latency the more the computer will struggle to make stuff clear. The delay will come from latency so try to get it as low as possible without crack or breaking up. That the best advise I can give with no specs on your computer... Like processor.. windows version... Ram and all that stuff that make the computer tick... Hope this helps

Xel, I had that problem with Sampletank 2 years ago. What it ended up being was my saved custom "combi" presets/templates. At first, I moved them to another folder and it would still crash. Then, I totally deleted them from my PC and Sampletank worked normally again. After discovering this, I then pasted the combis back in to their Sampletank directory and booted up Sampletank again just to check what would happen and, sure enough, it started crashing again. Try deleting your actual custom "combi" presets and see if it works. It might be the same issue I had. 👌
It works if I pull it up one at a time for sampletank but if I do more than 1 at a time in vst3 format it will crash Cakewalk.. I can use the vst2 all day no issues no crashing .. but the vst3 sometimes if I scroll through sounds to much it will crash... @@XELOhh1 the UA-cam overlords love to hate. VST3 is obnoxious to dev for and support (ask Ableton), which is why u-he and Bitwig came up with the open source CLAP. Yes, other DAWs like the incredible Reaper can handle them better but the VST3 spec is fundamentally flawed, hence CLAP. All the big guns are developing for CLAP now, a big FU to Steinberg.

No VST3 issues on my system, so not a fault with Cakewalk. There are so many things that can cause conflicts, hope you track down the culprit.
im new to recording and also to pc, why do i sound like a chipmunk bro help me 😂😂
Hi. After the last update last Wednesday, a lot happened, or rather didn't happen in Cakewalk. 1. The Play head does not move anymore when I record or playback what I have recorded. 2. Earlier when I Zoomed in/out with the mouse the Playhead and coursor always stood in center. It is not working anymore. 3.Whe I delete something went wrong during recording, everything get deleted and or when I delete the start part where it is empty, Everything in that part in all tracks are being deleted. I fixed other issues, but these once I can't figure out. Pleas do you know how to get it back? Richard

What kind of controller do you have? I haven't herd of this issue before... have you tried the controller in a different DAW?. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment... Let me know if you have questions or any videos that you might want me to cover ... Welcome to the channel.. if you want to build with the community you can join the discord..😀🙏🏾
You deleted my totally rational fair comment. Comical.
I was about to open your comment but it was gone... not sure what happened but I didn't delete it... I wanted to read what you were saying but it never opened up..😞
@@XELOhh1 the UA-cam overlords love to hate.
VST3 is obnoxious to dev for and support (ask Ableton), which is why u-he and Bitwig came up with the open source CLAP.
I would just use the VST2 instead of asking the Cakewalk guys to fix a broken spec. Yes, other DAWs like the incredible Reaper can handle them better but the VST3 spec is fundamentally flawed, hence CLAP. All the big guns are developing for CLAP now, a big FU to Steinberg.
@@j.du6 I never herd of CLAP I will have to look that up... But yea I will be sticking to vst2 in Cakewalk unless the vst didn't come with vst2
