    One of your most enjoyable and educational videos yet. Early in the video you mention trapping or stretching audio. I think I understand stretching audio (you pull an audio clip to extend the time a clip lasts so a 28 second audio clip lasts 30 seconds for example but some people also call compressing an audio clip to shorten it stretching.)

    • @XELOhh1
      @XELOhh1  4 роки тому +1

      Yea.. I call it time stretching because that what you are actually doing your are stretching the time of the sample to make it longer or shorter.. But to each his own no right or wrong way to say it just do what you need to do lol... Im glad you enjoyed it.. Thanks for the comment..😄🙏

    Beat was nice actually. and Ive been using cntrl+home forever now. never knew "W" did the same thing. haha that is a little easier. now ive just gotta make it a habit to use W instead. thanks

    • @XELOhh1
      @XELOhh1  4 роки тому +1

      I glad you caught that... Lol.. It took me a minute to figure that out... I was using control + home myself.. And was like there has to be an easier way I dont like letting go of my mouse... I think when I was looking through the key commands I found the control+home was the same as W and the rest is history.. Lol.. Thanks for the comment..😄🙏

    Do you prefer making drum beats like this or with midi? It seems like this way sounds better. Is it possible to get the same or better drum sounds using midi and a drum vst?

    • @XELOhh1
      @XELOhh1  4 роки тому +1

      Putting the audio in like this puts the velocity at the original volume.. When you use a vst to do the midi style it sets the volume a little lower for some vsts or samplers... Doing it with midi gives you a little more versatility in cakewalk... If you feel that the kick is not right and want to change it you can on the fly with midi but the audio file is not interchangeable if you want to replace it you will have to redo all the drums that you want to replace... Thats why I usually use midi for my drums .. I would only do it this way if im 100% sure thats what im going to use .. Hope this helps..😄🙏

    Very informative!! Totally relying on u when it comes to cakewalk lol. I'm new to this and I was wondering how to automate filter and pitch in cakewalk, and looks like the options only show panning and volume automation. If you could do a tutorial on that it would be sooo useful :D

    • @XELOhh1
      @XELOhh1  4 роки тому

      You make almost anything automate for midi you can do pitch..and filter.. By just turning on the write button then moving that parameter you want to automate it will make a lane... I will see about making a video out of it... Thanks for the comment..😄🙏

    How to connect external editor to bandlab? I have sound Forge 9. After select audio clip and choose from menu sf9 a sf9 run and nothing, no clip to edit

    • @XELOhh1
      @XELOhh1  3 роки тому

      I remember seeing this on the Cakewalk form... You should try there I think there is a way to edit in soundforge from Cakewalk and once you finish the edit it automatically goes back to Cakewalk

    Hey man, great content as always!
    I was wondering whether it's possible to use piano roll for drums in cakewalk to change the pitch of the drum sounds themselves. I've seen people make drum beats in FL studio where they use the piano roll to pitch their high hats up/down within the pattern they draw in piano roll. Also for 808s and such

    • @XELOhh1
      @XELOhh1  4 роки тому +1

      You have to get a sampler to do that currently Cakewalk dors not come with one... I highly suggest Komplete Kontrol it is free to download and comes with sounds... Its my go 2 sampler... Then once you load a sample you can use different keys in the piano roll to pitch up and down... If you need help with using Komplete Kontrol I have a video dedicated to how it works... Hope this helps...😄🙏

      @@XELOhh1 yeah that makes sense. Is it then possible to manipulate the pitch in the piano roll after loading it as sample?

    • @XELOhh1
      @XELOhh1  4 роки тому +1

      Yes then you can use the piano roll to pitch the samples once its in a sampler.

    BTW, you can slice clips faster by CTRL + click.
