Just got the beats studio pro. Im coming from the XM4’s and I like the sound quality better on the beats. The ANC isn’t as good, but I’m using these to study in an already quiet environment and turn up the volume high for the gym. The beats just look sportier and fit snugger for a good workout.
I prefer them as well. I picked up a pair at best buy for $199 and couldn't be happier with them other than the comfort isnt the best ive experienced but they are just fine.
Overall the XM5's have superior sound, bass and clarity. They're also much lighter and comfortable and the ANC is amazing. I also own the Air Pod Max which I love as well, I use them mostly for work. I love how they seamlessly connect to all my apple devices. The XM5's wins for me. I was actually shocked at how good they sound over the APM. But I understand why the APM costs more because of the higher quality materials.
XM5's have elite ANC. Other than that, they're not that great. Sound quality is meh (just like every other bluetooth headphone out there, 90% have awful sound quality). *except Focal Bathys, Mark Levinson N°5909, Hifiman Ananda-BT, Hifiman Deva Pro Wireless* Obviously most people can't afford those if they can't get there money up but sony bluetooth headphones are all garbage, it's literally just bass and unrefined highs. at that point you might as well just save $200 and just get an anker Soundcore q45, the sony's aren't $200 better. Airpods Max definitely have a far superior overall soundquality than the sony's. Clearer highs, mids that don't get lost because of the bass and bass that's good enough. They're kinda ugly but you're wearing them so how they look doesn't matter. Overall, people can talk about convenience but don't talk about 'superior sound' on a bluetooth headphone unless you actually know what you're talking about. Drop the money on the Focal Bathys and get an actually good bluetooth headphone.
I have tried AirPods Max in the Apple brand store and I was pleasantly surprised in terms of comfort, sound quality, noise reduction, etc. It is an excellent product!😃
To me the xm5 and air maxes are good for travel studio the home and light work, the beats are good for working out or traveling in more risky areas basically the head phone pair u don’t care a lot about losing getting stolen or getting broken or just regular wear and tear
Right. Looks like they’re on sale everywhere for 199.99 which is a steal. I just bought a pair and it was just such an upgrade over a pair of Sennheisers I had, but couldn’t justify the AirPod maxes with them being due for a usb c upgrade. I can ride these out for a few years and upgrade to that then
I like the way the Beats sound, especially with Spacial Audio. The Studio 3 not so much. Too muffled. This hit the right spot. I get that they are tweaked to be crowd pleasers (deep bass and top end for vocals and cymbals) but I just like them. Impressive review though and I feel its on point, sound is very subjective.
Me personally, as I’ve tried both xm5 and the max, I’ve found I just prefer the beats. I love how they look, they sound great, the case isn’t such a behemoth, and the anc and the transparency modes get the job done for me. Beats wins
The headphones are cool, but I have the AirPods Max. I think that after the metal feel, it’s hard to go back to plastic. I’m also afraid to break them considering how beats has been in the past
Your ears are broken 😂 Xm5’s sounds nowhere near as good as the APM. They have more bass, less sub bass, worse soundstage, worse detail and mid range even after playing with the app.

My sister has the sony XM4's and I have the Airpods max. Personally I prefer the max for their aesthetics, sound, and the seamless integration all thorough my apple device’s. The one thing I hate about the Max's tho is the case and the fact that they get so dirty very quickly (could just be bc I have the white ones tho.)

Dude, Amazon sells replacement ear cups for your Beats. I replaced my wife's black headphone'😊s cups with cups that have a rose design, she loves them. Better than new. Revive those headphones. You won't regret it.
I really liked xm4’s and the smaller case, the xm5’s are lighter and feel better not as warm but the material is definitely cooler on airpod max but will like to see the 2nd Gen of them next year likely
I just bought the AirPod Max’s to give my husband my XM5’s. I will say I can’t believe you preferred the AirPod’s controls, the one thing I’m not excited to live without is the silent mode provided by the XM5’s just by pressing your palm against the ear. As someone who is always in noise cancellation mode, it was really convenient when someone was speaking to me

The same thing happened to me. I bought mine in September 20 23 and in April 2024 both haircuts and where you adjust them are broken and now the hinges are broken so I’m trying to decide what new headphones I’m gonna get to.
I’d describe the xm5s sound as veiled. Even after tweaking with the equalizer. If Sony would concentrate on the sound quality of the xm5s, they would be king.
I don't necessarily disagree but sometimes veiled is deliberate. Sennheiser is famous for this even in many of their audiophile headphones. The veil creates a bit more of a relaxing, warm sound. I actually wish the Airpods Max had a bit more of a veil. They sound amazing for 10-15 minutes but then can start to sound very harsh and fatiguing. The XM5's never do.
Max all the way for me. Sound quality, noise canceling and transparency is unmatched. Most comfortable too in my opinion but a lot of people think they’re heavy, I just think they have weak necks😂 Oh yea and modularity

1000xm5 were my favorite but just returned them for beats mainly because xm5 took forever to switch between my mac and iphone. Biggest downside on beats pro…call quality is so bad people tell me sounds like an echo…

I disagree with the on/off switch I only wanted the Max connected to my Mac . I notice sometimes when I switch from sound bar to airpods max it doesnt turn on then I gotta plug back in lightning cable for a sec then unplug and it connects. doest it like every other time I want to wear them .... other then that I love max but I switched to the Beats Pro I can turn on or off and overtime I turn on it comes on . Beats much improved love the bass and mids and highs way better than before !! slight advantage to AirPods Max for overall sound quality!

Honestly, after watching this because I just broke my solo3s ….. I think I’ll just buy another pair of solo 3s for $100 than worry about any of these options right now. The Studio 3s were pretty bad for Noise cancelling but at the time they came out they were cutting edge. All this time waiting for a proper update…. For them to just lazily muddle through. Apple is holding them back on purpose so they don’t beat the airpods max. And if I want actually good anc and call quality I will just us my airpods pro. Not paying $250 extra just to not get any meaningful improvements other than a mid tier ANC. With worse physical quality than previous generation.
I love the beats. But make sure you find them on sale. I got them on Black Friday weekend which was about $169. It’s not worth it if you are getting them for $350. Airpod max I feel like you are asking to get robbed if you wear them outside. Plus I wouldn’t want to spend over $350 on headphones
That's funny. Some people buy Beats for it's fashion statement. But most people buy Sony XM5 & Airpod Pro's for it's quality built and sound. Most people who spend $300 to $500 on headphone WANT quality over fashion everyday of the week.
I’m currently using the xm5s, mainly for the gym and when I play video games. It is very good. I’m going to also be grabbing a pair of AirPod maxes this Friday mainly because I’m getting them for a great deal but I’ll update which ones I like more

Overall I think I do like the xm5s way more especially for the gym too they can take a beating for sure. Both are great headphones but I think the xm5s are just more reliable.

beats studiopro are too tight and stiff because the small ear cups dont swivel. feels a alittle cheap. airpod max doesnt feel cheap but too big and heavy. both leave hot spots on top of the head. both sound good though. XM4's are more comfy than the XM5's. shure Aonic50 is better than beats and AirPods but Sony is still king
Everyone saying Sony is the highest on the bar which weird to me. Sony is great I have all three but I feel people sticking to Sony by default b cause of there track record just like apple. The name says it all and all beats had for them back in the day is the looks and a little bass heavy and cheap feeling so the track record haven’t been as good for them I can honestly say this time is not the case beats stepped up in a big way. Bass sounds more cleaner yue music is more define. And play these using your pre amp eq in Apple Music changes the overall experience once you start tweaking it they sound better then the Sony to me and it might be because once you add the Dolby atmos and lossless audio with spatial audio and the eq pre amp. You just don’t get the same sound you would with the Sony least not on apple products but android and windows might be different
The problem with beats is that they put pressure on ears and i feel like they’re on ear more than they’re over ear and the clarity of beats pro’s are amazing but the bass is almost forgotten on them aswell both are good but you’ll feel like the beats is not in the same premium tier of the sony, bose and sennheiser
10:00 very ignorant statement. I have a XM4 and it switches off automatically if it detects that the user hasn't worn them for 10-15 mins. Pretty sure its the same with XM5. Airpods have the worst battery management I've seen. They can't switch off unless you put them in their case. Otherwise they will switch off after 72 hours. That's just ridiculous. With the case, they will turn off after 18 hours. Who the fuck needs them to be on in their case! All that battery wasted for Find My. It makes sense for Airpods Pro because they are tiny and its easy to lose them. But why do we need this for over the ear headphones?
not great. That's where the weight can come into play. On a treadmill it can feel like you've got this big metal weight on your head. XM5's would work much better for that. Maybe the Beats too

Ive owned the sonys xm4 and 5s. And the sound is a bit better on the beats. The Sony's xm5 headband is made out of cheap plastic and in some cases break. Also the right driver makes a rattle noise with some deep bass tracks. Ive also owned the B&W px8. Im going with the Beats pro. I never thought i say yhose words. The sonys don't go loud enough either. The xm5 after 85% of volume they don't go up in volume. That shit is wack 🤦

After trying the headphones out at the store I went with the Xm5's they were the obvious choice in sound quality and ANC

Great comparison. Sony xm5 and AirPods Max are legendary. I’ve always thought that beats sucked and overpriced
I might hold off the AirPods Max until late 2024 or early 2025 when AirPods Max 2s come out

I’m currently using the xm5s, mainly for the gym and when I play video games. It is very good. I’m going to also be grabbing a pair of AirPod maxes this Friday mainly because I’m getting them for a great deal but I’ll update which ones I like more
Be careful using them to workout they’re not water/sweat proof
@@JJ-006 Yeah it’s all good my xm5s have been doing good for the last 5 months they can take a beating I’m sure the maxes will a lot shittier in quality I wouldn’t be surprised if those broke down on me lol

@@FAISAL-od4zx I like them they’re not bad at all the bass is surprisingly a lot better like it tickles my ears (if played loud enough) but they do get uncomfortable and hurt after a while. Overall I think I do like the xm5s way more especially for the gym too they can take a beating for sure. Both are great headphones but I think the xm5s are just more reliable.

Great vid, im getting yhe beats for my bday at ariubd 220. But no matter what at like half the price and the fact my buzz cut needs a good looking pair of headphones im really looking for it. Beats are sexy asf and will be a outfit addition
As an add-on, I have like 110k mins with artists like Mac miller and j Cole, ext ect ect, beats just makes sense 😂
i just got beats studio pro and i have found that people around me can hear my music quite clearly even if my volume isnt on max, does anyone else have this issue and know if there is a way to fix it?
It depends on the seal. If it’s not sitting securely around your ears there will be leakage

They have eq on the iPhone and MacBooks but the app itself for android. Not so sure. Which is why Sony don’t have the same features on iPhones.

Could someone explain regarding the beats what's the point in having ANC when you can hear everything around you?
07:30 useless feature if u are in the gym.. the music in nonstop pausin... or if u a sitting and layin down.. the music or videos stops.. i hate it.. i have it on my jabra 65 e2 annoying if u sit and strech or lay a little dowm.. it stops the video... and if i manualy stop the music or video and i put them down.. the video or music start again playin.....
btw the jabra is the best on ear headset ever! my ears never hurts
beats studiopro are too tight and stiff because the small ear cups dont swivel. feels a alittle cheap. airpod max doesnt feel cheap but too big and heavy. both leave hot spots on top of the head. both sound good though. XM4's are more comfy than the XM5's. shure Aonic50 is better than beats and AirPods but Sony is still king

Everyone saying Sony is the highest on the bar which weird to me. Sony is great I have all three but I feel people sticking to Sony by default b cause of there track record just like apple. The name says it all and all beats had for them back in the day is the looks and a little bass heavy and cheap feeling so the track record haven’t been as good for them I can honestly say this time is not the case beats stepped up in a big way. Bass sounds more cleaner yue music is more define. And play these using your pre amp eq in Apple Music changes the overall experience once you start tweaking it they sound better then the Sony to me and it might be because once you add the Dolby atmos and lossless audio with spatial audio and the eq pre amp. You just don’t get the same sound you would with the Sony least not on apple products but android and windows might be different
The problem with beats is that they put pressure on ears and i feel like they’re on ear more than they’re over ear and the clarity of beats pro’s are amazing but the bass is almost forgotten on them aswell both are good but you’ll feel like the beats is not in the same premium tier of the sony, bose and sennheiser

10:00 very ignorant statement. I have a XM4 and it switches off automatically if it detects that the user hasn't worn them for 10-15 mins. Pretty sure its the same with XM5. Airpods have the worst battery management I've seen. They can't switch off unless you put them in their case. Otherwise they will switch off after 72 hours. That's just ridiculous. With the case, they will turn off after 18 hours. Who the fuck needs them to be on in their case! All that battery wasted for Find My. It makes sense for Airpods Pro because they are tiny and its easy to lose them. But why do we need this for over the ear headphones?
How are the AirPods Max for gym use?
not great. That's where the weight can come into play. On a treadmill it can feel like you've got this big metal weight on your head. XM5's would work much better for that. Maybe the Beats too
sony should just do a button like the airpod max, touch control is just not it, feels clunky. Imagine swiping and all of a sudden it does something different, like wtf?

Ive owned the sonys xm4 and 5s. And the sound is a bit better on the beats. The Sony's xm5 headband is made out of cheap plastic and in some cases break. Also the right driver makes a rattle noise with some deep bass tracks. Ive also owned the B&W px8. Im going with the Beats pro. I never thought i say yhose words. The sonys don't go loud enough either. The xm5 after 85% of volume they don't go up in volume. That shit is wack 🤦
