Your volt stabilizer, is it similar as the battery maintainer as fas functions?
Don't you mean a power supply (with fixed voltage)? And they usually have stabilisers in them. This thing is plugged into the wall socket to supply a fixed voltage to the car right?

Batteries are very good voltage stabilizers but if the curent demand is high they may not be able to keep a steady voltage. Also at high current there is likely the voltage will drop below the threshold. If you needed something like between 12 and 13V I think it could have worked but with a high current charger. Anyway yes, the voltage stabilizer is the best way to go since the program is very sensitive about voltage.
Exactly battery charger is not so I’m glad you put that I thought u was going to say a battery charger works it does not work at all nobody even recommends battery charger you either pay the high price for voltage stabilizer or don’t use programming simple terms or if your like me and can get them made like I can for cheap price your laughing which most people cannot
What about just using jumpers on a running second car?
It depends, I let my dealer update all units due to clunk of my 6HP19 after vehicle startup and they told me, at least 70A power supply is a must for proper programming
I am not saying AT ALL that you can safely use a battery charger for programming, but saying it is a must and you cannot do it etc... it is a bit far-fetched...
I have done plenty of programming using my 30 amp battery maintainer, and never had an issue...
Now, what you need is to know what the programming is going to be...
First I ensure the car battery is good, if the battery is already dropping voltage quickly, then it is a no... if the battery is good, I connect the battery charger, that will keep the battery at the required 13v plus...
The next thing is, I never do a full car programming, that is rarely necessary, and yes, can take hours!
In that case, I would say a get a voltage stabiliser...
I do individual module programming, even if I want to program more than one module...
When you program individually, the programming and coding is fairly quick (depending on the module of course, some can take some time...),
So the battery charger if good is more than capable of keeping the battery voltage OK during programming...
The tool, whether you are using ISTA-P or other programming capable tool, should tell you in the programming plan how long the procedure will take, so you can make a fair judgement from there.
Now, don't go and start to program using a battery charger and then blame me for it when it goes wrong... lol
All I am saying is, if you don't do programming often, a voltage stabiliser is an investment that you probably don't want to do, and that with the correct precautions you can do it using the battery maintainer.

Hi, i replaced my dsc pump and module on a 535xi (f10)
i installed insta d, insta p, and bmw tools.
Insta d for some reason keeps freezing on scanning the car, unless i manually scan the modules..is it faulty?
i also need to code my pump and do the bleed procedure..
no local shop wants to touch it, And bmw dealership wants $800 usd to code it and a mandatory 400 brake flush with computer assistance...

I should update the Kombi module of my 2004 E60. It was suggested to me by the xHP flashtool team after installing their gearbox mapping which also shows on the Kombi display the gear it is traveling in in D, while in S it shows the gearbox failure gear icon. They advised me to do it with WinKPF but after numerous attempts I only receive errors without being able to update the Kombi. Can it be done with ISTA? Could you give me some advice on this?
Made the mistake of selecting complete car programming, everything programmed up all ok except the multimedia entertainment modules. ISTA P saying BO, GW stuck in programming abort status 12. CIC screen is blank. Calculated measures plan says 5 hours to program nd code the above modules, I'm using voltage stabiliser and ICOM. Is it worth attempting again for 5 hours to see what happens or is there a work around?

Is ICOM the same as the ENET cable? I have ISTA-D and just a normal ENET cable is needed. Is a ICOM a box module? Why is it needed if you can use ENET?
Hi. I have a 2016 BMW 435i xDrive convertible. A few months ago, the horn started honking twice every time I unlock or lock the car after leaving it for 10 minutes whether I use comfort access or the remote or the key even. Is it a simple software reprogramming to get this back to the factory chime instead of the horn honking?

Had issues with reinstalling my whole NTB setup which I used for years. No VMimage but all deployed straight into W7 x64. Along with other diag SW. So not really that easy to keep all in one system :) Now once I had all set up again I wanted to install ISTA-P as a last add on. Bad for me not enough space on the SSD anymore. Been studying more and more about that and ran into this video. ISTA-P and ICOM only. Thought for a time there was more to it and my gut was once more right again :) thanks for the info, gonna stay the way I am only without ISTA-P, since an ICOM is a bit overkill for me right now.
If you have a spare car, fuck the stabilizer off. Throw some jump leads on a running car and connect it to the beemer. Works every time

Is it possible to code a temperature gauge into F20 N20 2012? I have coded the gauge with bimmercode but the temperature stays constant all the time. I went to BMW and they of course said that it is not possible. We all now that information is already there in hidden menu. Any options to code this info to scroll menu?
I took my car to an Indy garage for a repair and he managed to wipe all of my coding(stuff like mirrors automatically closing when locking door, start stop reverts to On upon starting the car, horn beeps when locking doors with motor running), he said he’s unable to code the car because I have problems with a couple of my modules, such as RDC and no communication possible with KAFAS, but the strange thing is, my car doesn’t even have KAFAS system, the guy was baffled by this and just gave up. Any advice on how to get the car to align with what is actually installed?

Great video. Very detailed and informative. I have a 2007 bmw 530xi wagon US model. I believe my EHC (electronic height control) module for the rear suspension and also my tailgate module got damaged by water intrusion into the trunk area. Prices for a brand new modules are quite expensive. If I went ahead and purchased used modules from eBay would I be able to just plug them in without coding? Or do I need to code the used modules to my car? If so, is ISTA P capable of coding these used modules to my car?
I live in the U.S. and I have a 17’ 328d. My state doesn’t require emissions inspections on diesel vehicles...just safety inspections. Is there a way to diy code my vehicle to disable emissions systems such as EGR, DPF, DEF, etc? What software would I use? Are there any plug and play systems that let you just disable things with the click of a button? I’m not looking for performance tuning here. I just want to delete those systems without throwing error codes or going into limp mode.

Hi I need to ask you a daft question please. After watching this video I notice you don't state that you need to be online. Is programming done from the insta p program and not reliant on an internet connection or did I miss the internet connection part. Thanks for the great tutorials.
That's kind of my question. If the vehicle requires an update, does ISTA just source the new firmware through the online connection? Or am I required to already have the update locally on my computer?
I was always hesitant to program because I thought I had to have source information to give it.

Hello! I got KDcan cable, I am trying to activate my corner lights (us style) on a E39 with Ista P. I am searching in the program and the only option for exterior lights is ECE.

Just picked up the XS Power PSC60 Performance IntelliSupply. Nice PS, it provides a constant 14.4 volts, and I no longer get the voltage error when attempting to run ISTA/P on 2015 BMW.
That’s it mate Ista p does that to save yourself and your car if it let you program the car without a stabilizer and then it didn’t finish the programming your car would be fucked so thank Ista p for actually doing that and not let you continue without otherwise the amount of people who will try this without one my god I would be rich you don’t realise how many IDIOTS there are around the world who think it’s simple to just program a car and that’s it I’m skilled and make it look easy yes but even ME I can still make mistakes it’s only normal

Hi, thank you very much for your video. I regularly use Icom A2 to program bmw of friends. We have changed the ACdelco valve body of a GM transmission (BMW 320i 2012). When connecting a standard scanner, it does not recognize the new transmission valve body. Can I code ACdelco valve body with ISTA-P? The valve body is new and has never been programmed. Im working on a voltage stabilizer for an F82 under load the vehicle DME is reading 13.28V at 60A load what is the minimum voltage you want to see so that you dont brick your modules while programming?

No mate you cannot it cannot be done like that I can do it for you unfortunately it doesn’t work like that as the rolling codes have to go with it and you cannot do it with the software you have I can do you a new ecu which will be straight plug and play if you wanted but I would need your original water damaged one and the donor one you have buddy

Is there any software that I can use? Or is it possible to programme this used ECU to my vehicle? Just to save me sending it out. I got my customer to get an ECU kit and he got a DME, CAS, and key and key module but immobilised with this and won’t try to start
That’s because you cannot do it like that because you have EWS code mate that you cannot get with your software it needs professional software you won’t have and cannot get only software engineer people like myself have this stuff that is why you are better to send to me and let me clone original ecu doing this you cannot move gear selector into gear system will lock you out I know how all this works my friend I’m very very skilled I do it for many many many people in the USA and I have them send me there modules weekly for this

Great info about ISTA! Subscribed. I got a question about the vo codes. I also use ISTA + & ISTA P, but sometimes when I program a CCC or CIC unit it asked me for the enable codes. I'm kinda stuck here at this point. (voice control etc)
Yeah it always asks for that mate mine has voice command also just ignore it and I think it’s called exception or something just ignore it it won’t affect the voice command or nothing

-and nothing pops up
And I have 3 options
-cancel
-refresh
-input manually
If I click manually
Then input IP address
And what address do I need and where I need to find it

I liked the instructional video how to use ista p, my question is, how do I keep updating the modules when I have a broken module. for example the pdc module my car is broken it asks to replace, but I don't have to automatically stop updating, ask to replace.
