- In this video I will show you the process to make a software update on a BMW using ISTA P , and I will explain you a little bit of the steps and process !

Dear, this is a great video tutorial!!! I have just 1 important question. In best cause all processes will be like shown in this video BUT... in my cause ( and not only ) ISTA/P ask to replace some module??? For example FRM3 module that have no any problems and work OK ( and is OK according ISTA/D too ). This module was updated outside the car because of software crash and I thing this is a reason ( updated with last possible version ). How to update other modules without problems with this one. Cannot remove it - remove from measure plane but still exist after determination plane is calculating. Is there any solution???

Hi there. I liked your video. I have a 2017 bmw 3 series touring and want to change my display unit from 6.5 to 8.8 inch and change my head unit from ID4 plus to id5-id6. Just curious: why only reprogram the DME to a firmware which it already has?
Then why write the new I-level when only the DME is running at that integration level? BMW takes great care to release only a complete configuration. This way you have an untested set of firmwares running together. Probably the reason why ISTA+ only lets you program the whole configuration.

esys can be used to program individual ecus, but it's not user friendly

Hello! Good question! I recommend you buy the 130 one , the 50 is ok ish but is at its limit.
So the Code C @7:23 is not the same coding that is used to ie.. fold mirrors when key fob lock button is pressed, or activate DVD in motion to allow for watching movies wile in Drive?

Nice, i have always wondered how ISTA P works, i have only used D. Do you know if there is somewhere we can see whats changed in newer software updates? Like a changelog.
Do you have the orginal icom from bmw or is it a copy? I saw the orginal for sale and it didnt seem to expensive actually, the clones seems to almost cost the same. Guess the software is what costs.
Is it „allowed” to do software update with ENET cable? Can I do software update of entire car (all modules) in single session?

Maybe someone can help, I successfully installed ista P and can read the car but before I can do anything I asks me a IBAC code, don't know what it is or where to get it, if I close that window it will shut down ista P, I changed my TRSCV module but need to program it as it comes from another series

I have a 2011 F11 and it is on the factory software. I wondered if there had been any refinements in the gearbox control and DDE unit over the years and would like to update some of my modules. I wonder if you know if the updates for these example modules would show any difference to how the car operates?
Im not clear on the i-level and how updating a single control unit affects the operation of the other control units.

Hello! istaP will work on f series with I level 17 or lower!
Can someone please tell me some examples what features, function are added, or refined with an Integration update. Are there any noticeable changes when driving, using the car, or perhaps a more efficient operation, so it is worth the hassle?
I usually keep all my PC software updated the very moment a new version gets released, and I feel the urge to do it on my 2017 F15 X5 also. Are there 'release notes' from BMW somewhere that lists what changes between versions (integrations)?

Done this a couple of times on E-series. Never seen it done on a F-series. Very good 👍
Do you need / can you use the MOST connector on F-Series?
No, you don't need it, even on the E series you use the most adapter only if you do a software update on multimedia systems

What a knowledge about BMW, chapeau bas. This update of module is via internet from modem or IstaP have the new data update inclus from installation or Ista P? What's difference before and after update DDME?

My question is why does the navigation fail when i level is 2018+? Is that the case with genuine ista p/+
You didn't understand, the navigation can fail when programming in the software writing step, and from ilevel 2018 on the car, you can't use istaP anymore, you need to use ista+ and in ista+ you can't deselect the navigation modules from programming if you have a newer ilevel ista

Salut ! Am o oferta sa iau un e60 cu m54b22 la pret de bicicleta. Full M, evacuare dubla de inox. Singura chestie care ma preocupa este faptul ca a fost conversie de la RHD la LHD si are unele erori pe partea electronica. Mecanic se prezinta decent. Un sfat ? Multumesc.

You need to have voltage over the threshold , I have set the power supply to 14,5 because will be some voltage drop across the wiring and connection..

Is the 40 Amps of the charger really needed? I have 8 Amps on my car battery charger. If yes, as an option I have a huge Agilent lab power supply device (it weighs 30kgs) capable of 0-30V 0-60A (I'm an electronic engineer). I guess I set it to a voltage limit of 14.7 and large enough current limit, it'll do it.
For flashing the modules absolutely, BMW recommends up to 100A for latest models.

o intrebare: daca portul OBD2 nu are power (pt Vlink wifi) pot sa folosesc cablul si ista sa verific err de pe FEM(am facut un scurt la plafoniera si nu mai am 12 v pe plafoniera si OBD port s-a ars FEM ? toate sigurantele sunt ok, am verificat cu tester- F30 2013) Multumesc si succes!
Salut! nu ar trebui sa se intample nimic daca ai facut scurt in plafoniera ,scurt la becurile plafonierei! dar daca nu ai alimentare pe portul OBD va trebui facute niste investigatii amanuntite, intri manual in istaD cu seria masini si acolo ai acces la wiring diagram pentru a incepe diagnosticarea..
Unde intru sa dau restart din fabrica la module ?.

Hello, it will work widout coding, ideal is to code it to be associated with the car, if your car is LCI you need an LCI antenna the non-LCI won't work. And if you have the correct antenna and still doesn't work you have a different problem or the antenna is bad.
