So in Nayarit, the officials running the INAPAM and 65y más pensión proram were EAGER to sign me up for the cash pensión. I've only beena residente for a few months, not 25 years. Mexico federal law and actual local implementation may often be different. I had to travel and ducked out of the pensión signup. I have a U.S. pensión and
Mexico shouldn't subsidize me.
Thanks for taking the time to present this, Paul. Every little bit helps!
You're very welcome!
Great. I agree - if you qualify - give the money to needy elderly Mexicans.
I cannot believe expats are so greedy!! The people born and living in Mexico should be the only people to get this! We live here and during renovations, we donated a ton of furniture, bedding and donations to a church here in La Paz who dispense to their congregation. Bless the locals, many don’t even have beds let alone electricity yet open their arms to us from other countries.
While Mexican illegals here in the US get food subsidies free medical care education and you complain about expats?
Yes they are, and yet they have the nerve to get pissed off here in America when foreigners take advantage of benefits in the United States, what a double standard
Hey you never know if the person applying for this has fallen into poverty and is in a dire situation. If they have been in Mexico for 25 years they have have more than paid their fair share of dues to the local economy. I’m usually against all these type of help except for old and / or disabled people
Great informative video! I shared with my family!
Is not a pension, it is financial aid to all Mexican citizens over 65 even if you never work, regardless of their financial status if your wealthy, professional, farmer, land or property owner etc, etc. If you are a retired professional you get your regular pension plus this one from the government. Similar to Canadians.
Well done, Paul !
Thanks, Phil.
@@qroo Great job guys. I am totally blind out of Fort Worth Texas and I am thinking really really hard of moving to Mexico I am pretty good with all my mobility skills and traveling skills and all that good stuff, what do you think your opinion is greatly appreciated?
As always, excellent information. I am a dual citizen already on US SS and I just found out from friends in Mexico that I qualify for this pension once I turn 65. I did not believe them but this video info confirms what I was told. Thanks again
Don't drink too much. Que tengas un excelente día. Saludos!
Igualmente. Un saludo. :)
I know many people who qualify. My wife's uncle works at DIF and I send the people to him to get the process rolling. I personally pay someone's social security so they can get their Social Security pension (,different from Bienestar pension) when they turn 65.
I'm happy that older Mexicans get a little help from this program they really needed .
wow! its about time Mexico did something like this since I'm saddened to see elderly people dragging their crates around selling their stuff just to eat. The only mexican people lucky enough to earn a pension were government and bank employees.
Yeah, vote buying is a big step forward.
@@nachojimenez2420so durning the mid term in Mexico what % of the people approved of the presidents work? Was it 82 %
@@TheRjansen That is what happens when you have an uneducated population and you gut the long term infrastructure in order to give them cash. They love it. For now.
But he has a high approval rating !!!! lol.
Thanks to your great Spanish, I only today realized that "secretaria" and "secretaría" are two different words ✌️
Ah, yes they are. :)
Guess I should stop calling my secretary Bienestar! ;)
Great information! My wife has dual citizenship, and I expect I will at some point. While we don't expect that we will be applying for a pension in Mexico it is nice to hear that expats that may need the added income may qualify for such. We have many family members in Mexico that have retired from jobs in higher education, as well as the medical and tech industries, but their pensions are different, and higher, than what you went over (obviously), but this really is great information...
Got it
Just applied for this pension intending on giving it to the needy. One needs permanent resident status for 25 years . Travel visas are not counted as time in country.
O man ! I only missed it by 23 years !!!!!
Haha, you can always get your Mexican citizenship to get it earlier.
Haha
Hello Paul
Quick question on citizenship. We were recently told of a newer Mexican Court ruling granting Citizenship to grandchildren of Mexican citizens. My wife’s parents were born in USA but her grandparents were born in Mexico. In asking this questions and doing research we’ve had positive and negative results. Curious if you have any experience with this issue, suggestions.
Still waiting to hear about the first Paul and Linda Vacay trips. Say hello to Linda!!
Hasta la vista.
Jim
Hi don't quote me on everything I say BUT I have a parent who was from Mexico and who is now deceased and I am working on getting my mexican citizenship here at the mexican consulate in the United States, however, I have heard of mexico extending the generation up to great grand parents as long as you have documentation to prove it ever since they reformed their mexican citizenship by descent in their article 30 of mexicos constitution on april 17 2021, however, in order to do THAT particular process you must go to mexico to submit all the paperwork there because the mexican consulate in the United States only honors the paperwork process here of immediate parents being mexican, so basically you can get mexican citizenship if you have grand or great grand parents, you just have to go to mexico for process, if you have parents that are mexican the process can be done at mexican consulate in the United States without having to go to Mexico, from what I understand
I would sure hope if a expat gets that money the would give it to there favorite needy Mexician family. Expat living the dream and poor Mexician going hungry.
Exactly what I was thinking.
I'm sure whoever receives it is putting more money back into the Mexican economy than taking. If you have lived in Mexico for 25 years AND you are over 65 you are like a citizen anyway. Seniors also get discounts on all kinds of things in Mexico including bus fares.
INM has been doing address check on some permanent residents who have been here more than 20 years. You're supposed to notify them within 90 days of the address change but not all people does it, and are now grounded for losing their residency status.
Def change your address as soon as possible. But there's a misleading statement here - you do not lose your residency if you fail to notify INM of a change of address within 90 days.
@@MexicoRelocationGuide Exactly. There is only a fine between roughly $100 USD up to $500 USD for "forgetting" to change your civil status or address or in some cases your legal name. There is no jail time and no expulsion. But if a person repeatedly makes the mistake then INM will mark your file as someone they want to keep an eye on or remove from the country.
Some people who operate little INM help services, and advertise their services hidden within their Facebook civil list groups and blogs. They'll scare you into believing all the perpetuated common stories about expulsions and jail time and huge 5 figure USD fines. Then they say "We can help."
What proof does one need to verify 25 year residence? 1988 mexican tourist visa suficient? Does obtaining PR based on bank balance in 2021 disqualify?
They want records from INM showing that you have had a permanent residenct card, or equivalent, for 25+ years.
Winery? 🥳 lot-a-work? 🤔 I'll have your best bottle of red and just bring your favorite dozen best sellers just in case.🥶
Hahaha. :)
25 years residency? That's, let's see, from the 1990s. You can make $100 a month in other ways.

What is a Mexican pension!?
A pension given to older folks by the Mexican government. Like Social Security in the U.S.
Watch the video : )
An obscene amount of pesos.
My thinking on this is:
If you're retired in Mexico, it's because you have a set plan. You've been able to prove steady foreign income, aren't paying income taxes in Mexico, and you're not going to be a drain on the Mexican taxpayer.
If you're really trying to steal $100 from a deserving senior, you shouldn't be in this country in the first place, and should be on the next bus with other "economic migrants" on their way to deportation.
Lol, you can't qualify for residency unless you meet the minimum income requirements and if you don't meet at least that you should probably not move to Mexico.
Who are you to tell people to move to Mexico or not; many people had qualified for residency not based on income at all.
@@tdgdbs1 that pension money is for Mexicans who need it. Not for expats who never paid Mexican taxes, that is why they put 25 year limit on it. As for other people, if you are married to a Mexican citizen or become one that is another story, but even then, really?!
Pedrosa, if you go the income way of qualifying for temporary or permanent residency, then yes there is a bar to be met. There are other ways to qualify for residency that change or even bypass qualification.
@@MexicoAdventurer I guess you could try a student visa or marry a Mexican
Go check out those whineries! 🤣
Good luck! My mother-in-law hasn't received her little government check since AMLO became president.
Another pointless video. The big catch to receiving a pension isn't mentioned until late in the video to keep people watching. If 25 years years of required residency was enumerated at the beginning, people would have stopped watching. It's a shame that he didn't bring up the workaround.
Well Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed… Calm down and go have a cup of coffee and put down your phone.
I had my coffee, and a beer and it's still pointless. Jajaja
You obviously didn't watch past that point to find out the other way to qualify, but you don't need the money so forget about it.
@@andreawisner7358 I did watch the reference to becoming a citizen to bypass the 25-year requirement, but how many North Americans become Mexican citizens? The only reason will be to not pay for a land trust if you buy property near the coast or border. Plus, I suspect there are downsides to being a Mexican citizen versus a citizen of the US or Canada who live in Mexico. If it was a significant payment, then it would be worth looking into, but it isn't. So, pointless.
Humm let me see I got my permanent resident card in September 2022. So would I qualify...... Nah. Bugger
