I suppose it's the nature of things that some out there can't just enjoy your videos the way I have for a long time now. I'll admit I probably only truly understand half or even a third of what you put out there as content, and yet I fully enjoy every video you make because it's blatantly clear you love what you do and love showing US how to do it and learn in the process. Thank you for always being honest and trying to light that spark of ingenuity in the rest of us.
I love the tip regarding recharging an apparently death battery pack. I experienced the same issue with my scooter's 48V 28Ah battery, I didn't use it for more than 2 years so when I checked it for total charge and recharge I could see several strange issues with the leds, eventually after a while the charger started its normal operation and it recharged the battery!
Thanks for all the info you have and continue to put out, going to start working on a homestead for the family and I will be building several power walls for it because of your videos. Will also try to get the batteries and anything else I can off your site to try to support you for all the info.
Thank you for all of your videos. I am so tired of the doom and gloom people that are all around this lithium battery market. I like how you just tell it like it is. THANK YOU
I'm sure that a very smart person with a 3D printer could make a suitable plug/adapters to fit that battery. Personally I think your Xt60 solution is so simple and adapts to a wide range of applications.
Me i'm learning all that stuff too and worked on putting four 24volts kobalt drill batteries to make one pack of batteries at 18ah and i did it with the help of 2 friends. Now i know how to do it myself. Thanks for the video i kept your link in my favorites and will be buying some batteries. So much less expensive on your site than in stores or already made up batteries!
Yea sir all true sometimes they don’t see behind the scenes and their is a lot of hard work and yes it toke me about two years to learn about batteries before I jump into off grid will not 100% off grid I do some of my electronics off grid like things that need to run 24/7
For those really wanting to learn but find this way above our pay grade, do you have a basic FAQ? I WOULD so pay for an ebook with step by step instructions.
count me in for the next batch for 3 of them. one for electric bicycle, and 2 for for an solar backup microfarm. I want to add whatever connector, shrinktube, cabblekit and recommend me please an invertor for 220v,50hz Belgium ,standard.Thx man! You are number 2 in the most influential people from my viewpoint after Musk 😃 Good job!
The British typically add a syllable to Aluminum. They say Aluminium ...Al u min ee um. That's wrong. It's Aluminum. Al oom i(small i) num. Love your channel. Cheers from the Fjorgin Highlands!
The website listed does not seem to ship to the UK. Maybe you could list a website that sells similarly cheap batteries in the UK. Very cool video though.
I see how you used the pack in the video. It would also be nice to see how it could be used with something that would output 110V AC (without having to pay a few grand for the larger battery pack). Something like this could be useful for a laptop, or stringing a few together for a job-site table-saw.
Sir you never seem to amaze me with all these new tricks ! I don’t see nothing not safe about them ! Those who see it as dangerous should not be trying to mess with batteries you hire people like us to hook up you power wall and we make the money and take the shack lol while you stay safe indoor where should be
Ooh sold out. I bought a pallet of modem back up batteries with Samsung icr 28A SDI. 4 batteries in each pack. They were new but headed to the recycler. These are the best pack batteries I’ve ever used. I have one 48v battery pack with 4 years of heavy use showing no signs of degradation. They are rated to a charge of 4.3 v per cell with 5 amp discharge. Grade a cells. I’ve used a lot in projects however still have a lot remaining. If you see these cells for sale ... buy them!! However there are a lot of fake cells out there. Weigh them on an accurate gram scale they should weigh 42 grams or more or they are more than likely fake!
I just picked up a ecoflow river battery powered station and I was wondering do you have any 500 watt hour or any 750 watt hour new batteries with connectors that I could purchase for an add-on for my new device great Channel by the way love all the stuff you do on here thank you
these batts are used in the older type dutch QWIC ebike, and cost arround 500 euro here :) i guess they are left overs since QWIC only uses in frame batts now, i would have liked a pallet of them, to make a DIY home battery
the excessive current draw i think is what causes battery fires or helps shorten the life if it is over discharged. if the charge is not current limited then it pushes too much current and a chemical reaction maybe like electrolysis (like crack water into hydrogen and oxygen) but releases gasses that can build up pressure and blows out the cells and starts fires.

It’s not Unfortunate This Is DIY channel. It’s Unfortunate People Cant Figure that out on their own. Near as I can see, if they complain then they are just trolling. Haters gonna Hate. Love you Jahu.
First I will explain the difference between *Series* and *Parallel*. Series is when you connect the positive (Red) wire of one battery to the negative (Black) wire of another battery and do this with as many batteries as it takes for the voltage you want. ie. 3 - 12v 5A batteries in *Series* makes 36v 5A. Connecting in *Parallel* is when you connect the positive (Red) wires and negative (Black) wires together. This keeps the voltage the same but increases the amperage. ie. 3 -12v 5A batteries in *Parallel* would be 12v, 15A. I sure hope this helps.
How did you get the battery to slide out of the case? I can’t get it to move What direction you have to push? Even a rubber mallet won’t move it Thank you
How can batteries be available at $100/kWh? Latest reports suggest prices are heading TOWARD that, but I didn't think we were there already. Are these used?
He is using a 2 amp charger for a 500wh battery. That is 0.2C for a couple seconds. Then it resets. Then 0.2c again for a couple seconds. That is very close to your 0.05c expectations. So I don’t understand the complaint.
I could run my workbench lights for a month off that pack...lol...right now I run them off my Anker power banks...do you test them before you post them for sale?
I adore your efforts man! As I’m your follower i want to order items from your website but apparently says that no shipping option to Italy. Just sad I can’t reach you.
Hey homie I like what you said and I my self have just began to use these type of batteries, question I am getting a Bluetti EB 70 and would like to get a back up battery or like you build one I would like to pick your brain what is a good match for that eb70 also I really like the solder gun or iron you use what kind is it thank you so much for all your vids , I live in the mountains in Northern Cali there is not a lot of Solar stuff or stores around here I will look for your answer and I thank you again Amigo. PS the EB 70 is for camping that is what I intend to use it for fyi.
Im building a recumbent trike and had myself a battery custom made by a guy from Sanyo cells. 58V 42Ah for €650. Absolutely awesome pack. Not brave enough myself to make it, and a normal ebike battery this large would be like €1300.
I have a Ecoflow Delta Mini. I also have a few 48 volt ebike batteries (10.4, 14, 15ah). Solar input specs are 11-75VDC, 10A Max, 300W max. With the proper connectors/wire, can I safely use the batteries to add juice to the Delta Mini? The voltage seems OK, I'm mostly concerned with the amps and watts.
Thanks Jehu. I just bought one. $49 for the battery and charger. $13.67 for shipping. Pretty sweet deal. I'm going to put this to use on the ebike I made following your other video (the $150 ebike).
Probably wise to have the battery on charge inside a metal container for a first wake up charge. Unlikely that they will catch fire but why not take the extra safety step?
Can you modify one of these to be used as a car battery replacement or even something more simple like a ups system for your modem router or other computer hardware.
I saw this when the video was 11 hours old. I was super excited and immediately disappointed. I actually need to get a good 36v battery for a lawnmower conversion I'm doing (have the motor and controller).

Well said Jehu! DIY rocks, and those of us who pursue learning and using the components you make available. Keep at it. I enjoy what you do.

This is the battery that came with my converted Lime ebike. Would have loved to get one to extend my bike's range.
Please keep listing any ebike batts you run across, cuz there are many good inexpensive E-bike conversion kits & almost none come with the batts
And those that do come with the battery, want $200.00 - $400.00 for the battery.
Well Jehu...you moved that pallet pretty QUICK lol....sold out in an hour?? 😁😁 🎶 Everyday I'm Hustlin....(batteries)
Didn’t even get a chance lol
Yeah, not fair. One person probably bought them all.
You are a great guy! Your channel is fantastic for DIY-eMobility.

5:33 that moment when you gotta justify the way batteries work.
Nothing wrong with trying a pack unless it’s visually or internally damaged.
What a super great form factor for an E bike using your community post from Wab about mounting an ES4 ebike battery pack!!
The website listed does not seem to ship to the UK. Maybe you could list a website that sells similarly cheap batteries in the UK. Very cool video though.
Last year I bought 2 pallets of those, they are great. I think they are from lime e bikes
That is correct. I have a converted Lime ebike and that's the battery it came with.

Laptops are DC and around 17-19v, and to get AC mains power all you need is an inverter which can be had cheap.

Sweet. Looks like this will pair well with one of your bent up $29 hub motors. Time to convert my 24” into an eBMX and hit some sweet jumps!

Only if the individual parts are not already UL approved.
