37yo and still playing like that, absolute goals for us 30-something year olds
Have you seen Djokovic?
Bro you’re comparing him withone of the best If not the best player of the history of the sport let Gasquet alone@@levihalperin7649
@@levihalperin7649 djokovic and nadal are exceptions, not the rules, gasquet is closer to someone normal...
@@levihalperin7649 Have you seen Nadal? Djokovic is a pathetic cheater and a clown, dont count.
@@levihalperin7649Nadal and Djokovic and Federer are once in a lifetime athletes. Richard isn’t close their level but still able to compete with the best in the world.
At least the first set was competitive. That backhand wow
That BH down the line was absolute craziness. Thiem kinda produced the same against Aliassime, a shame him and Gasquet had to lose so early.
@@user-cy6xl3vd3fNow they could lend the backhand to Tsitsipas
@@patrikmarflak6559 exactly 😂
@@user-cy6xl3vd3f At least Grigor is still there to represent the art of one-hander.
@@patrikmarflak6559 I agree, Grigor's backhand is a beauty to watch. He also mastered the art of slice as opposed to Tsitsipas. It's really a shame that the 1HBH is slowly disappearing, I did a little inquiry on it and found that back in 2003, there were 44 1HBH players in the top 100. In 2013 they were 25, and in 2023 they were only 12 left...
Gasquet probably lasted as much as he could at this age opposite a beast of player.
The first set was so competitive I really didn’t expect that.
That Gasquet backhand tho… 🔥
Would've been nice for Gasquet to win that first set - even if it wouldn't have made the slightest difference in the long run.
Yeah! But yeah, gasquet just not offensive enough, just trying to survive somehow wasnt gonna get him many games
@@TheRealSuperwiesel he doesn't have the physicality to deal with these hunks over 5 sets... he's old-school in the very best way
Then whys he competing? Obviously he has the physicality but does he have the game to last?
@@pauljohnson6019 i think it's difficult to say goodbye to playing tennis if you love the game. And he's still a formidable opponent. Bzt Alcaraz in best of 5 is a tough ask
Could watch that Gasquet back hand all day long. He's one of those players that everyone likes, like Ferrer, Dimitrov etc. Was always a longshot against Alcaraz but you just know he's going to give anyone a proper game. Class act.
Stan Wawrinka
Absolutely. Couldn’t agree more.
He gave a proper set then didnt play well.
first set was just great
Does ANYONE use the forehand slice as effectively as Alcatraz?? Just completely out of the blue, unpredictable, laser-precise shots. Wow
Reminds me of Federer with that forehand slice
@@Durnyful exactly! I thought the same thing.
Santoro was a forehand slice specialist, but he used the shot differently.
That's how he beat Djokovic at Wimbledon with variety not just sheer pace.
@@pauljohnson6019 It's his variety that makes him more entertaining to watch than most others
3:30 OMG. THAT. POINT. 😲😭😍 Especially the special backhand finish. Pure beauty. Richie, you made me cry. 🥲
I halfway through watching this realized it was Nick Kyrgios on commentary 😅😅
Actually a very good punter. Good insight into players.
His voice is much smoother on commentary. Must be the mics or smtn. But really nice to hear, i found him insightful and just a joy to listen to honestly.@@onskyk
7:37 That angle for god's sake !!!! 😍🤯😯
Great 1st set and Gasquet played well anyway. Alcaraz was on fire 🔥🎾👍
kyrgios doing a great job as a commentator great insights and knowledge .. and the way he enjoys alcaraz seems to me he loves the sport a little more than he wants to admit 😝
Wow Gasquet, amazing, respect.
What a classic backhand, so beautiful.
We need Kyrgios commentating on all the slams - really great to listen too.
Kyrgios is great on commentary. He's definitely got a future behind the desk.
Too bad he's not coming abck at the AO...
He said maybe Wimby, not even sure... what a shame
he is awful, doesn't even like tennis
I agree, it’s nice to hear him speak on a game of tennis. Feels natural for hin
I agree, it’s nice to hear him speak on a game of tennis. Feels natural for him
I agree, it’s nice to hear him speak on a game of tennis. Feels natural for him
Let s go to win the first AO alcaraz
Alcaraz a new legend of tennis 🎾
Muscles on fire.... I hope Nole keeps the god mode for the final because alcaraz is on great shape..😮
Steroide works but He will get injury remember 2022 and 2023.
Yes I believe Alcaraz will dethrone the king of Melbourne if he keeps consistent over bo5.
Richard vous êtes formidable.😉
pourquoi?
Charlie is back to business, hope to see him on top of the tour by the end of the tournament.
Stan, Gasquet and Federer best backhand in the history of tenis
Almagro.
@@AA-le9ls Nicolas did have a beautiful backhand 😍
Federer? Are you serious?
Nalbandian
Yes did him no good at 40-15 though? 😅
I love how Alcaraz “mastered” the drop shot, the 95% of the time he won the point
3:30 Imao, that's the best point of the whole Richard's carreer
No question Alcaraz will become the GOAT and surpass Fed. The only question is, how long will it take him.
To early to predict .Nobody knows what future holds ..
Ominous shape 🫨 Could he play Sinner in the final?! That would be so dynamite 🧨
Yes, but that means he has to beat Djokovic in semis.
Alcaraz 🇪🇸 super gra ! Tak dalej ..Powodzenia ! 🎈🎾🇪🇸🎈🎾🇪🇸🎈🎾🇪🇸🖐😎🇵🇱
That backhand 🥲🙏👍👌
Unbelievable alcaraz
How can you not just LOVE Gasquet !!
Very nice 👍🎾🤗
Well done Richard ! be proud
I love how they play and special the arrangement as in the Matthaus Passion with two orchestras-sections.
So what else? It's absolute perfect. Congratulations to everyone of them.
Bonita exhibición,bonito partido
I loved Nick Kyrgios commentary. He really praised and described Gasquet style and how long he’s played the first set honestly could have gone either way. But Alcaraz just kept changing gears. Excellent match
Magic ✨ Carlos always plays forward
If only Gasquet had learned how to hit a forehand
and still he dosent miss
I've been watching tennis since Becker / Sampras. It's a pity that hardly anyone plays the one-handed backhand anymore
I love the new Federer-like way to celebrate points from Carlos. More mature.
Which One
Federer like? He celebrates every point he wins, barely saw Federer do it 😂
First set was always going to be for Carlos anyway. Had most chances by far. Blew a 0-40 lead at 3-3 and overcooked two forehands in a row. He is too agressive at times. Glad he composed himself after that.
U could see right from 3 first games that he just couldn't keep up with almost 20 years younger spanish Bull. Only Djokovic can keep up for now but in next 1-2 years he be also done.
Super 1st set for Gasquet
Alcaraz been hitting the gym!
Roids
💉 I hope that no needles have been hitting Alcaraz.
Its not good to have too much envy.
He’s still developing. He’s only 20 years old.
He is double and waz already huge.
Alcaraz 💥
The commentary is coming like 1sec before the points finish, somehow, you notice that on the first point of these highlights
Gasquet plays very well as a pro but is eclipsed by Alcaraz. We cant apreciate enough the good level of Gasquet.
Alcaraz muscles got double.
Great
When can we expect tennis 4K highlights?
When you will watch 'em on live TV
¡Vamos Carlitos!
When I watched till 3 mins I thought it's 5-1 for Alcaraz. and then I note it's 6-5 for Gasquet :)
Single-handed back hand just doesn't cut it anymore in today's game
Gasquet's single handed backhand cuts it just fine, but there is less cut in his forehand.
Anyone else enjoying Nick’s commentary?
Que abuso Carlitos orgullo ESPAÑOL
Vive Gasquet !
Alcaraz the Best
Stop showing the winner in the thumbnail
C est pas tout le monde qui va au tb vs Carlos ! Vive Ritchie !
Never heard commentator ever breathing so loud as kyrgios
2nd set gasquet just out of fuel. alcaraz barely seen tired
Love Kyrgios
what a level of tennis i see on 1st round matches it's just amazing
If you wanna win Alcaraz you cannot give him a smooth runway to killer winner shots. If I played Carlitos, and one day I might, I would make it a snooze fest with endless low-skipping /skidding deep cross-court slices and rhythm disrupting wicked drop-shots. WInk Wink. - Respect to Richard G though. He showed his worth in the 1st set. He is a great player, still.
😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
Gasquet was a junior star that never materialized as pro.
But he is still enjoying playing
Far too harsh. He never quite got to grand slam winning level but he's had a fantastic career. Multiple grand slam semis, consistent top 10 player, 16 titles, part of the super exclusive 600+ career win club, 20 million quid in prize money and a backhand that will be remembered for as long as tennis exists. He'll retire with few regrets.
"a junior that never materialised as a pro"... I don't think you know the player. He is a pro since the early 2000, he has won something like 16 titles as a professional, he has been in the top 10,and stayed 20 years in the tour ,playing in Slams semifinals and more.
This is the dream of any boy that want to play the sport,to be able to live from it.
@@michaelfoley906 I agree. Although, what really messed his career up was the ban due to illegal substances.
@@juanquintana6070 i don’t think you understood the point, and that is fine, not everyone is the same.
He was touted better than Nadal as a youngster but even if he was a player with achievements as you said, they are far from what he could have been.
Dont show us the winner on the thumbnail…
They forgot to tell Gasquet that tennis is a sport, there are still legs and you can take more than two steps per play
Not enought stamina, but Richard is still an uncredible player...
More his game just wasn't good enough to keep up, if stamina was an issue he'd be cramping and playing with more errors, just didn't have the variety or power in his shots to trouble Alcaraz.
@@pauljohnson6019 don't know how old you are, but without camping, you Can decrease during a match because of tour stamina. I'm more than 40, so i can testify.
The problem with Gasquet is his backhand is a thing of beauty but his forehand is a terrible loopy shot with no depth or pace. He should have completely changed and flattened his forehand when he was like 17 or 18 and he could have become a real force in the game.
So sad listening kyrgios commenting. We want you back on court , and possibly against tsitsipas
Arthur Kyrios is not prepared to put in the hard work to be a top professional tennis player. You have to accept him as he is .
I feel very sorry for Gasquet, that he hasn't one any big title in his Pro carreer. He beat everyone as a teenager but couldn't show it in his pro career.
Yes i bet 3 0 for alcaraz im scared
Pues como ya vez lo venció 3set -0,Alcaraz se llevará el OPEN DE AUSTRALIA🙏🙏🙏💥💥💥☀️☀️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Alcaraz is peak human performance 😳
e poi trovi Sinner......
Too passive after the first set.
Tuvo q aguantar a rafa Nadal y ahora a carlitos alcaraz. Pobre gasquet
amunt Carlitos
alcaraz extreame
We all know what a phenomenon Alcaraz is but that grunting needs to stop, it's virtually every point!
Alcaraz is male Sabalenka
🤣🤣🤣
Why Richard tanked after the 1st set? Its annoying and predictable, same old same old
he uped hes level
cant stand Kyrgios commenting
Gasquet hasn't won against a Spaniard since he was 13 yo.
Alcaraz was in serious trouble, very serious, Gasquet ran out of gas, if not...Alcaraz was really worried in that first set
Why is Alcaraz pumping his fist/shaking his racquet in celebration after every single point?
Excess youthful energy.. will subside over the years..l
Spanish passion .Nothing wrong
Se dirige a su entrenador para motivarse.
To be gay or not is nothing to be with his tennis. He has been in the top 50 for almost 20 years.
exactly its ok for me no problem his backhand is nice
....what?
nobody is gay

He's only 21 and I'm already fed up with that grunt.
He is 20, only.
He is 20.
We the Spaniards have blood in our vains. We are expressive people, something cultural, nothing wrong with it
He wont be 21 until May.
Bravo,💐
trucs? 🤣🤣🤣
after every point,he looks at his team like a child,i mean if he is so great why does he do it
Gasquet could win the match, he has done some wrong tactical choices
No, he is getting old, even if he won the first set, he wouldn't have been able to keep up the intensity, bo3 maybe, but not bo5.
@@pauljohnson6019 yes maybe tha's the case for a 5 sets match, but at least for the first set he should have win. And if you win the first, who can expect what is the end ?
His backhand is still a masterpiece !
Aucun respect. Il devrait être disqualifié.
Carlos can be lucky that he didn't had to face prime roger ...37old no hair gasquet even won a set vs so called next gen wonder...shame. Söderling would have smoked this guy😎
