Thank you for this, couldn't have come at a better time. Just bought the take off panel and been looking for info on its ability to mount on third party desk mounts. This clears things up.
My combat panel arrived today so it was actually kinda fun going over some of the features with you. And you answered just about every question for I'm sure not just me but you're video should be all anyone needs to decide if they are going to get these at all. I have a feeling my instructions are in the take off panel box. I'll post again if my instructions were in the other box or I just didn't get a set at all. I’ve been using mine for a few weeks now, they did a solid job on them. Agreed on your thoughts on the INS knob. The sliders I’m using for my HUD and HMD brightness. One thing no one is talking about though is that the panel brightness knob on the T/O panel is actual 3 axises, so you can program 3 knobs to it, I usually have all of my consoles bound to it.
I just got lucky enough to buy both panels in stock. Next week they are jacking the price up to about 180 bucks from 150 bucks permanently so good timing.
In fairness to winwing. The laser designator switch in the hornet are very expensive. Even though a magneticly held switch is easy to make the only company I know off that makes them in this format is honeywell costing about 1000$ per switch. You can make one yourself for less then 20$ of materials but it's manual labor so that would have added to the cost.
I think I'm going to try binding those 2 slider controls coolant/ mixture flows for manual engine controls in games like IL-2 or WarThunder, *wowwp's included* J/K about World of Warplanes, the flight model in that game is catered toward the adhd child market so manual engine controls would ground 85% of the player base..
Thank you for the very informative review. I am still trying to figure out the Winwing software - it is NOT intuitive for me. Just wish there was more in your review on how to use it! Thanks again!!
Very nice, I keep looking at the whole setup, and I’m very tempted. But as I also am hoping to go full VR I’m not sure how useful they will be given the switches are all mixed together. For 2D it’s blooming perfect mind you.
If the special switches had unique caps it'd be better, but it is workable in vr once you're familiar with the panel. Going to 3d print some caps for mine.

I wish it wasn't so redundant with the Orion. There are some nice additions but many of the switches are repeats. They can always be reprogrammed but I would have liked to see it more complementary.
I really wanted these, but after two month of waiting to finally be online the right moment to see one of the short moments of availability, I chose to pre-order a virpil control-panel 2 instead. I will have to wait, but atleast I have an order in place.
If only they were made to be modular boxes for each control section, so that you could use them together like the panels are made or to spread them around a home made f18 cockpit for realism in case you'd be using a vr head set, I guess they may be doing this in the future
I’m 15 and got a decent paying job this summer. These panels aren’t terribly expensive, and they look like they will go great with my winwing stick and throttle
Great review. Clear and concise. The only issue I have is I prefer flying in VR and thus, such a detailed panel is not very useful. It think this is much more suited to players flying using Track IR5.
I've been flying in VR with these panels for the last few months. While I do still occasionally look through the nose gap to see what I'm reaching for, it's become fairly simple to home myself without looking. One thing I do recommend is binding the Hornet's flaps to the grey leaver to the left of the gear handle. The labled flaps switch is too small to find reliably while around the boat. I've got it set to HUD declutter instead. One big thing these panels DO make easier in VR is the Hornet's FLIR and laser switches. Not having to crane my head down to them in the cockpit every time is a godsend. I've also started using the self protection jammer now I can reach the switch for it

Hello I am looking to buy the winwing throttle and Joystick I also have placed orders for the panels but have not heard anything back yet. How long did it take for you to receive your products after placing order.
Do you know if the buttons , switches and encoders included in the panels duplicate most buttons on the orion 2 throttle? Can some of the switches on the panels, or the orion 2 throttle be used as modes to duplicate actions, such as those on the virpil mongoose T-50?
I'm just curious: would the DCS options "sync hotas controls" (or something like that) help with the "after flight reset"? Because this is actually a good point: having to reset all the buttons (rotaries don't matter) might be more of a pain in ass then the functionality these boxes will give you...
Yes, and no. If you sync with hotas on start, then all your physical switches will command the cockpit to match. Which insures your controls match up, but may also place your controls in the wrong position. I'd certainly enable it, but of course you need to make sure anything important is reset before you start a flight, meaning you've gotta take a quick cockpit switches check (just like real pilots!)
@@RedKiteRender Thanks for clearing that up! How exactly these panels connected to PC ? Via regular USB port or it requires some additional controller or anything else? Is it able to work stand alone completely independent ?
Still very useful, but you'll need to adjust and learn by feel where everything is which will take a week of usage. I'd recommend 3d printing some extra switch caps to make up for the lack of unique switch toppers on some controls, but otherwise it works well.
I was wondering that about the MFD Cougars - I learned to use them on the left side of my stick and now I klick them easily in VR by knowing their Position and Feel of the MFD Casings. No need to have them positioned exactly like in the VR Cockpit to use them, really. As soon as you get used to your real Controls Setup, you can use them for many different Aircraft. This may take away a bit from your VR Experience but it helps you immensly not having to use your Mouse or many different Aircraft Cockpit Layouts.
looks great, but who need somthing? I got a Hotas Warthog and clearly never use the Buttens around the Trottle. Also i think its nice to have, but not for this expencive price.
Sure! it'l work just fine, obviously, having a different layout it's better at the hornet, but the switches are useful in just about any aircraft for the most part.
5:23 yup thats bout that. bad desing. they should just made 2 bigger panel left and right all buttons and both of them front side is engled to have all landin gear left panel and hook things right panel. then can make center panel unless all those other påanels still MISSING buttons even they allready should be there lol. why i want buy when they not represent real one
WingWing is nice, but way overpriced IMO. Where’s my hotas
looks great, but who need somthing?
I got a Hotas Warthog and clearly never use the Buttens around the Trottle.
Also i think its nice to have, but not for this expencive price.
How hard is it to map to dcs
tin foil on the nub of the switch could help
These have been out of stock for a long while so I’d anyone here is willing to sell there’s I’m interested in buying one
Hey does it work well with the f16
Sure! it'l work just fine, obviously, having a different layout it's better at the hornet, but the switches are useful in just about any aircraft for the most part.

Is this made in China?
5:23 yup thats bout that. bad desing. they should just made 2 bigger panel left and right all buttons and both of them front side is engled to have all landin gear left panel and hook things right panel. then can make center panel unless all those other påanels still MISSING buttons even they allready should be there lol. why i want buy when they not represent real one
Work with Arma 3?
Sure, it's a USB game controller, so, as long as you configure it in controls, you can use it.
WingWing is nice, but way overpriced IMO. I'll stick to Helios and a touchscreen monitor. $150 used, and all controls at my fingertips as well as lights and readouts (and a heck of a lot easier to read MFD's/DDI's than the constantly slightly-out-of-focus in-game ones, c'mon ED, fix the bug for high resolution setups already!)
They need to fix the mfd display export too, the day/night modes result in wildly different images in cockpit vs mfd export.
@@RedKiteRender I'm so used to editing .lua files that iIdidn't even think about it. I spend more time playing DCS admin simulator than flying at times.
Anyone know when their stock will be back?
Look on the store, they usually mention a restock date.
@@RedKiteRender yeah it says no date
@@PeteV80 wwsimstore.com/STORE says 10th
