Thanks for this great tutorial! Keep posting more of Maya Dynamics stuff. Also i have one request please do a tutorial for ground shatter/destruction(like you did in 3ds Max) if possible. Regards :)
Fluids are still surprisingly useful, especially for driving particles as a field. They do not have the render fidelity for high res work, but many effects are simple. As long as motion blur is not required, fluids are great.
Thank you so much for an easy explanation! I have a question though. What's the difference between managing turbulance from fluidshape1 and managing turbulance by creating one from fields/solvers?
Thanks ,I'm glad it was useful, turbulence in fluid shape is built in for the container itself and will only affect the container, and the Fields and solvers is general for the whole scene they can affect as many dynamic objects as u wish it to
Nice tutorial. I just could not seem to get my letters smoky enough? Any ideas? The smoke just turned into a big clump. I changed the density settings really low which made it more into a mist. Is there anyway to change the individual letter emitters to smaller sizes?
Thanks ! You can try to increase the resolution of the simulation to get more finer details , and for the clumpy smoke just use the dynamic settings , like turbulence , wind and noise as mentioned in the tutorial
Hiya! Two questions, one of which I'm uncertain if you'll be able to answer. I saved a cache but when I imported it, the "A" is filled in and it looks like a triangle. It doesn't appear that way in the scene. So, I just saved the scene with a new name and finished the project that way. Second, and this is a general question. When you do a playblast, how do you hide the various manipulators?
Just so you know, in min 7:35 maybe it was not working because you selected the camera too, or at least that white dot in the background is the back view camera. Great tutorial tho!
hi bro, i am trying do this fx so i created test and i extracted it after i go to fx and clicked on create ncloth and maya as been closed. i tried so many times so please give the solution for this problem.
Hi FX ! PLease HELP ! Me and an another dude had try ( on 2 differents computers and 2 maya 2022 versions ) your tutorial but when we want export the cache of letters when we 'apply' export all to alambic : we have both the same issue : " fatal error : attempting to save in C:/Users/Yann/AppData/Local/Temp/Yann.202111101.1742.ma "
I've tried to add a fluid to a MASH repro mesh, it does work but it also renders a huge fluid blob in the center of the container? How can I turn this off and only add it to MASH points?
Of course you can use bifrost fluids, but this tutorial was specifically about Maya fluids !! There are some differences between the two which I will explain In an upcoming tutorial about each , stay tuned !
@@ghost62370 the specs aren't too bad , just try doing it again , or if you are buying a new PC that's better but still should work fine , trying doing it one more time and see if it works !!
@@fxmaniac2839 I tried again with a 300 base and max resolution, I still have no shadow, no temperature, simulation is around 0.5 frame/sec and the quality is really low.. I am on Maya2019, I can show you with screenshots : i.gyazo.com/963133caf86f5719a4b85351dac48459.png
Excellent tutorial, one of the few where I was able to accomplish what's demonstrated!
Thank you! I'm glad it was useful 🙏❤️
now I m studting Maya (VFX) in university and I found out that your video made a huge academic advancement. Thank you, please keep it up!!!
That's great I'm glad my videos are useful to you !

Good and thanks. I hope to watch phoenix tutorials.

can you share your last few minutes human with fire tutorial in your youtube channel?
i believe that also a great and excellent tutorial.
Great one
It's so ominous coming back to this video and hearing someone talk about catching the flu in February 2020 lol

I have Maya 2020. For some reason my smoke is EXTREMELY Heavy and I can't get it to normalize. Even when I mess with its settings.

it's Probably because you haven't saved your project to a specific place! try saving your file somewhere specific !

Fixed it, creating a container creates an emitter by default which was the big fat blob. I had two fluid emitters lol.
good

You got "Flu" in 2020 man. O_O
Nothing is working correctly, I do the exacts same steps as you and it looks ugly, no idea why.. even temperature is not working
Try increasing your resolution , that will affect things drastically!
FX Maniac I think my computer can’t handle more voxel resolution, 16go RAM, i7 laptop
I’ll buy a new one next week and I’ll try again
