McCartney killed this one. His vocals and bass are incredible. From their last recorded Lp "Abbey Road" released in September,1969 and to say they went out on top is an understatement. Also from this Lp a few must listens are George Harrison's "Here Comes The Sun" and make sure it's from the 2019 50th anniversary remix of this album and there's a great video that goes with it. Even with the incredible catalogue of Lennon/McCartney songs, this one may be my favorite Beatles song and is the #1 played Beatles song on Spotify with close to 900 million plays at this time. Also from "Abbey Road" Lennon's "Come Together" and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" Both killer tracks and try to bring up the 2023 remixes of these if you can, they sound incredible! The Lp cover of them walking across Abbey Road and their Lp cover for their 1967 Lp "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" are the two most iconic album covers in history. This band was the shit! The real deal! The most creative and influential band in the history of recorded music and it ain't even close! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year young lady. Peace ❤
The funny thing is despite questionable video quality and poor audio quality, I always enjoy your reactions I think because you are so sincere and engaged. Not to mention I just feel Joy in my heart when I see you reacting to this music, some of which was even before my time like Chuck Berry but was still really important to me because I came along not long after it was new, and it was still popular.
Oh boy did you pick a monster of a song! Paul McCartney normally has such a soft, sweet voice-hard to believe this same guy can belt out a song like this, huh?
A very rockin' reaction 🪨! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to The Beatles before: Ticket To Ride, Yesterday, I Want To Hold Your Hand, All My Loving, I Feel Fine, Nowhere Man, I'm Down, Help!, Can't Buy Me Love and Twist And Shout. Oh! Darling, from The Beatles' 1969 album: Abbey Road, was not released as a single in the US or UK. It was released as a single in Central America, having the song: "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", as its B-side. It was also issued as a single in Portugal. Apple Records released the single: "Oh! Darling", in Japan with the song: "Here Comes The Sun", in June 1970. It was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. It was produced by George Martin. The song draws influence from New Orleans-style R&B popularized by Fats Domino, and the "Swamp" style of Blues popular in Louisiana at the time. The rest of the group added the Doo-Wop harmony after the fact. Paul McCartney came to the studio early every day for a week to sing it because his voice was too clear - he wanted it to sound strained, like he had been performing it all week. One of the reasons Paul McCartney could arrive at the studio so early was because he only lived two blocks away from Abbey Road. Incidentally, this also factors into why he was barefoot on the album cover for Abbey Road. He'd just worn sandals and happened to slip them off. Next thing you know, hundreds of "Paul is dead" rumors began. Paul McCartney had deployed the retro shredded-voice form several times before, including on the songs: "I'm Down", "Long Tall Sally" and "Helter Skelter." Perhaps a bit of artistic rivalry was afoot here - Hard Rock vocals in The Beatles had been the domain of John Lennon, and Paul McCartney seemed almost to be pushing himself to compete. John Lennon resented that Paul McCartney didn't let him sing lead vocals. He felt it was more his style, but since Paul McCartney wrote it, it was his decision. In a 1980 Playboy interview, John Lennon even shot down Paul McCartney's vocal efforts, specifically stating that he could have done it better stating: "'Oh! Darling' was a great one of Paul's that he didn't sing too well. I always thought I could have done it better - it was more my style than his. He wrote it, so what the hell, he's going to sing it". The song is in the key of A major. George Harrison described the song as "a typical 1950s-1960s period song because of its chord structure". The Beatles performed the song in their 1970 film: Let It Be. While rehearsing the song for the film, John Lennon announced that Yoko Ono's divorce with her former husband had finally gone through and he improvised a verse about that. This can be heard on The Beatles' 1996 compilation album release: The Beatles Anthology 3. The Beatles were on the outs when this song was recorded. Alan Parsons, who was an engineer at the sessions, said in a Songfacts interview: "George would come in and work on something on his own, and then Paul would come and do "Oh! Darling." He would come in every day at 2 p.m. and sing 'Oh! Darling' a couple of times, and say: 'No, that's not it,' and then come in the next day and do it again. You wouldn't see more than one Beatle at a time that day". The Replacements' 1983 song: "Mr Whirly", parodies this song along with Beatles songs: "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "The Twist." The "Oh! Darling" portion starts at 0:40 and ends at 1:30, sandwiched between the other two songs. It's a ragged, snotty-punk-smirking version, but it's still easily recognizable as "Oh! Darling". "Mr Whirly" appears on The Replacements' second studio album: Hootenanny, from 1983. It's credited to "mostly stolen". In 1978, the song was also released as Robin Gibb's fourth solo single. It reached #15 on the Pop chart and #22 in the US Adult Contemporary Chart. It was Robin Gibb's highest charting single in the US. The song has been covered by many other artists including 📻: Roberta Flack, George Benson, The Outlet, Joy Unlimited, Franck Pourcel, Huey Lewis, Rosa Maria, The Persuasions, London, Mickey Thomas, John Pizzarelli, Mina, Los Loud Jets and more. Song Credits 📝: Paul McCartney - lead and backing vocals, bass John Lennon - backing vocals, piano George Harrison - backing vocals, electric guitar Ringo Starr - drums The Beatles Info 📰: The Beatles were a Rock band, formed in Liverpool, England in 1960, that comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The Beatles' earliest musical influences include Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Gene Vincent. They are regarded as the most influential band of all time and were integral to the development of 1960s counter-culture and popular music's recognition as an art form. Rooted in Skiffle, Beat and 1950s Rock 'N Roll, their musical sound incorporated elements of Classical music and traditional Pop in innovative ways; the band also explored music styles ranging from Folk and Indian music to Psychedelia and Hard Rock. As pioneers in music recording, songwriting and artistic presentation, The Beatles revolutionized many aspects of the music industry and were often publicized as leaders of the era's youth and socio-cultural movements. Led by primary songwriters John Lennon and Paul McCartney, The Beatles evolved from John Lennon's previous group, The Quarrymen, and built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over three years from 1960, initially with Stuart Sutcliffe playing bass. The core trio of John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, together since 1958, went through a succession of drummers, including Pete Best, before asking Ringo Starr to join them in 1962. Manager Brian Epstein molded them into a professional act, and music producer George Martin guided and developed their recordings, greatly expanding their domestic success after signing to EMI Records and achieving their first hit song: "Love Me Do", in late 1962. As their popularity grew into the intense fan frenzy dubbed as : "Beatlemania", the band acquired the nickname: "The Fab Four", with the group's manager Brian Epstein, the group's music producer George Martin or another member of the band's entourage sometimes informally referred to as a "Fifth Beatle". By early 1964, The Beatles were international stars and had achieved unprecedented levels of critical and commercial success. They became a leading force in Britain's cultural resurgence, ushering in the 1960s British Musical Invasion of the United States mainstream Pop music market, and soon made their film debut in the movie: A Hard Day's Night (1964). A growing desire to refine their studio efforts, coupled with the untenable nature of their concert tours, led to the band's retirement from live performances in 1966. At this time, they produced records of greater sophistication, including the albums: Rubber Soul (1965), Revolver (1966) and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), and enjoyed further commercial success with the albums: The Beatles also known as "The White Album" (1968) and Abbey Road (1969). The success of these records heralded the album era, as albums became the dominant form of record consumption over singles; they also increased public interest in psychedelic drugs and Eastern spirituality, and furthered advancements in electronic music, album art and music videos. In 1968, they founded Apple Corps, a multi-armed multimedia corporation that continues to oversee projects related to the band's legacy. After the group's break-up in 1970, all principal former members enjoyed success as solo artists and some partial reunions have occurred. John Lennon was murdered in 1980 and George Harrison passed away from lung cancer in 2001. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr remain musically active in 2023. The Beatles are the best-selling music act of all time, with estimated sales of 600 million units worldwide. They are the most successful act in the history of the US Billboard charts. They hold the record for most number-one albums on the UK Albums Chart (15), most number-one hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (20), and most singles sold in the UK (21.9 million). The band received many accolades, including seven Grammy Awards, four Brit Awards, an Academy Award (for Best Original Song Score for the 1970 documentary film "Let It Be") and fifteen Ivor Novello Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, and each principal member was inducted individually between 1994 and 2015. In 2004 and 2011, the group topped Rolling Stone's lists of the greatest artists in history. Time magazine named them among the 20th century's 100 most important people. ****CONTINUE BELOW****
The Beatles Break Up 🪲🚫: From August 18, 1962 to September 20, 1969 The Beatles consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Their break-up is attributed to numerous factors, including: the strain of "The Beatlemania" cultural phenomenon, the 1967 passing of the group's manager Brian Epstein, bandmates' resentment of Paul McCartney's perceived domineering, John Lennon's heroin use and his relationship with Yoko Ono, George Harrison's increasingly prolific songwriting, the floundering of their music company Apple Corps, The Get Back project (renamed Let It Be in 1970) and other various managerial disputes. During the latter half of the 1960s, the band members began to assert individual artistic agendas. Their disunity became most evident on their 1968 album: The Beatles (also known as "The White Album"), and quarrels and disharmony over musical matters soon permeated their business discussions. Ringo Starr left the group for two weeks during The White Album sessions, and George Harrison quit for five days during The Get Back rehearsals. Starting in 1969, the group split into two camps regarding who should handle their business affairs. Paul McCartney lobbied for entertainment lawyers Lee and John Eastman, but was outvoted by his bandmates in favor of businessman Allen Klein. The final time that the four members recorded together was the recording session for the Abbey Road album's song: "The End", on August 20, 1969. Their final meeting with all four band members present was two days later at a photo session held at John Lennon's Tittenhurst estate. On September 20, 1969 John Lennon privately informed his bandmates at a meeting at Apple, without George Harrison present, that he was leaving The Beatles, although it was unclear to the other members whether his departure was just temporary or permanent. On April 10, 1970 Paul McCartney said in a press release that he was no longer working with the group, which sparked a widespread media reaction and worsened the tensions between him and his bandmates. Paul McCartney filed suit for the dissolution of The Beatles' contractual partnership on 31 December 1970. Legal disputes continued long after their break-up, and the dissolution was not formalized until December 29 1974, when John Lennon signed the paperwork terminating the partnership while on vacation with his family at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. After the break-up of the Beatles in April 1970, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr enjoyed success as solo artists and collaborated with each other on numerous occasions, including on both studio and live recordings. Rumors of a full-fledged band reunion persisted throughout the 1970s, as the members occasionally reunited for collaboration, but never with all four simultaneously. Ringo Starr's song: "I'm The Greatest" (1973) and George Harrison's song: "All Those Years Ago" (1981), are the only tracks that feature three ex-Beatles' members. After John Lennon's murder in 1980, the surviving members reunited for the Anthology project in 1994, using the unfinished John Lennon demos tapes for the songs: "Free As A Bird" (1994) and "Real Love" (1995) as the basis for new songs recorded and released as The Beatles. John Lennon's Assassination 🙏: In New York, at approximately 5:00 p.m. on December 8, 1980, John Lennon autographed a copy of his 1980 album: Double Fantasy, for Mark David Chapman before leaving The Dakota Hotel with his wife Yoko Ono for a recording session at the Record Plant. After the session, John Lennon and Yoko Ono returned to The Dakota Hotel in a limousine at around 10:50 p.m. (EST). They left the vehicle and walked through the archway of the building. Mark David Chapman then shot John Lennon twice in the back and twice in the shoulder at close range. John Lennon was rushed in a police cruiser to the emergency room of Roosevelt Hospital, where he was pronounced passed away on arrival at 11:15 p.m. (EST). After John Lennon's passing, historian Jon Wiener filed a Freedom of Information Act request for FBI files that documented the Bureau's role in the deportation attempt. The FBI admitted it had 281 pages of files on John Lennon, but refused to release most of them on the grounds that they contained national security information. In 1983, Jon Wiener sued the FBI with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California. It took 14 years of litigation to force the FBI to release the withheld pages. The Justice Department settled most of the outstanding issues outside court by releasing all but 10 of the contested documents. Jon Wiener published the results of his 14-year campaign in January 2000 in the book "Gimme Some Truth: The John Lennon FBI Files", which contained facsimiles of the documents, including "lengthy reports by confidential informants detailing the daily lives of anti-war activists, memos to the White House, transcripts of TV shows on which John Lennon appeared, and a proposal that John Lennon be arrested by local police on drug charges". The story is also told in the 2006 documentary "The US vs. John Lennon". The final 10 documents in John Lennon's FBI file, which reported on his ties with London anti-war activists in 1971 and had been withheld as containing "national security information provided by a foreign government under an explicit promise of confidentiality", were released in December 2006. They contained no indication that the British government had regarded John Lennon as a serious threat; one example of the released material was a report that two prominent British leftists had hoped John Lennon would finance a left-wing bookshop and reading room. Michael Jackson Buys The Beatles Music Catalogue 💰: In 1985, Michael Jackson purchased ATV for a reported $47.5 million. The acquisition gave him control over the publishing rights to more than 200 Beatles songs, as well as 40,000 other copyrights. In 1995, in a deal that earned him a reported $110 million, Jackson merged his music publishing business with Sony, creating a new company, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, in which he held a 50% stake. The merger made the new company, then valued at over half a billion dollars, the third-largest music publisher in the world.[475] In 2016, Sony acquired Jackson's share of Sony/ATV from the Jackson estate for $750 million. This purchase by Michael Jackson reportedly strained his friendship with Paul McCartney who wanted to buy the music catalogue himself. George Harrison Passing 🙏: On November 29, 2001, George Harrison passed away at a property belonging to Paul McCartney, on Heather Road in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. He was 58 years old. His reported final message to the world was: "Everything else can wait, but the search for God cannot wait, and love one another". He was cremated at Hollywood Forever Cemetery and his funeral was held at the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, California. His close family scattered his ashes according to Hindu tradition in a private ceremony in the Ganges and Yamuna rivers near Varanasi, India. ****CONTINUE BELOW****

Sorry made one mistake. Try to bring up 2019 not 2023 remixes of "Come Together" and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" They just released 2023 remixes of The Beatles 1962-66 and 1967-70 Lp's, that must have been on my mind.
Arguably one of the best vocal performances on record.
Fact.
This is why I roll my eyes when people say the Beatles are overrated.
People who say so, are overrated.
Man! What a singer!! All they're songs are soooo different (and good!) Thanks!
I listened to this as a little girl….they don’t write them like this anymore. That’s why I’m a hopeless romantic! Love watching you hear The Beatles!
Loving your show dear! So much fun to watch your mind get blown by the Beatles! So many more songs for you to find yet!!!
Great reaction. Believe me darlin'. Thx.
Another Beatles timeless classic
Peace ❤
I hadn't heard this song since the early '80's. Forgot about it. Thanks for the great memory! You and Marvin the Martian rock 'n' rule in the car!
Ringo's drumming is sensational
Ladies and gentlemen, the Beatles!
Paul tears it up on this song.
Love all your Beatles reactions.
Thanks for your work Ma'am.
Such an awesome song!
Oh boy did you pick a monster of a song! Paul McCartney normally has such a soft, sweet voice-hard to believe this same guy can belt out a song like this, huh?
Check out come Together from the same album.

The Beatles Info 📰:
The Beatles were a Rock band, formed in Liverpool, England in 1960, that comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

The Beatles Break Up 🪲🚫:
From August 18, 1962 to September 20, 1969 The Beatles consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
John Lennon's Assassination 🙏:
In New York, at approximately 5:00 p.m. on December 8, 1980, John Lennon autographed a copy of his 1980 album: Double Fantasy, for Mark David Chapman before leaving The Dakota Hotel with his wife Yoko Ono for a recording session at the Record Plant.
Michael Jackson Buys The Beatles Music Catalogue 💰:
In 1985, Michael Jackson purchased ATV for a reported $47.5 million.
George Harrison Passing 🙏:
On November 29, 2001, George Harrison passed away at a property belonging to Paul McCartney, on Heather Road in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

Earlier in 1999, the United States Postal Service issued a stamp dedicated to The Beatles and Yellow Submarine.
