Vary cool. Twenty or thirty years ago I had a hundred dollar set of cross country skies that could silently do the same thing you show in your video on a beautiful sunny day with 18 inches of virgin fluffy snow.
One of the benefits about these tracks that no one thinks about is how they don't tear up the land as much. Tires will dig to the ground sometimes, even in deep snow. These tracks allow even this 12,000 lb Hummer to float over the snow.
and if you do somehow find a way to get this stuck, you can always just call in a chopper to hook cables to the hummer transport hooks, then you get an even more scenic view from the air
Seems like open-differentials would be required because a locked diff normally spins the inside wheel when turning. These tracks have soo much traction that if they don't spin, then something's gotta give. Spider gears for instance. or the axle splines.
He looks cold inside that H1 with the cloth top. It's just like those old popup campers with the tent sticking out the side of it, really cold like living outdoors. After all the money spent for mattracks it would be nice to be cozy inside with the heater on, with a real roof.
i feel really warm and fuzzy watchin this knowing that i would be safe in this hummer while others would be left behind,, i need mat trax for my 96 f350 util body,, lol
iTzTrAx1 - I can think of something. It's sort of similar. These on a Tacoma or 4Runner running shuttle for backcountry skiing. I wouldn't even know where to buy a cat, but these tracks would sure do the trick.
if you would read in proper context i was referring to the fact that the Hummer is already incredibly capable off-road and that these mat tracks simply add to it capabilities.
Different company. The tred life is terrible. Fuel milage terrible and I had to cut the fenders and upgrade my power steering. Newer Land Rovers are not like they used to be. I want to put them on my TD5 Defender because I really need them where this vehicle is located.. I never heard of Mattracks before, they look tough so thx for the idea!!
He's speaking of the difrentials, and the tracks should not cause any more undue wear on them than say pulling a trailer or a heavy load or heavy acceleration. If the vehicle is maintained, about the only thing I really seeing having undue stress would be the steering, and A frames, but it still should be fine as long as it is maintained
well this mattracks r builded for offroad not for style to drive in the city or on the motorway this can use for transport on the road before u leave and go offroad
There probably would be rioting in the streets, but gas will not be $20 a gallon for a very long time. By that time people will also be paid more and we will start using alternate forms of transportation more (not that I like the idea.)
how is it that this Mattracks system weakens the drive train? other then that it a really nice system how well dose it far on streets covered in Ice and snow?
If you only seen snow once in ur life i can belive you think snow is hard. But the fact is, fresh snow is very soft, you sack in it emidiatly, but if you drive a few times over the snow and the snow melts a bid and then get frozen again, u will get something very hard and slippery. And those triangle tracks do exist, i think it was tracktor technologie whitch they adjusted for ritch spoiled 4x4 drivers. Look up the tracktor "case steiger stx" It has the same tracks, but mutch bigger
call me stupid but the H1 is a VERY capable vehicle and personally i think we deserve to see a 2wd front or rear with the tracks and see how well it does i'd actually like to an old caddy sedan deville with these (i know stupid) but it's a "boat to be used as a sled" or along the lines of a chevy cobalt even a ford focus to a 2wd truck, should try it
i did a google search a wikipedia search even a youtube search i couldnt find a list of the top 5 offroaders that has a jeep in it. mate, landcruiser is the best off roader SUV
Yeah, we got a local guy here in Utah, with money, that bought a set of these for his Suburban, and made it 10 feet out into the snow and sank!! What a joke. Spent the rest of the day shoveling.
Lame. In that amount of snow the tracks don't make a difference in getting to places. The good thing about those tracks is that the ground (soil and the little growing things beneath the snow) does not suffer so much damage as the tracks distribute the weight to a larger area.
an H1 with mattracks has got to be the ultimate off road vehicle
Those are some really cool tracks!
with independent suspension and inboard drivetrain providing awesome clearance, this is the perfect application.

hell ya just mobbin though the snow with the heater on and a hot cup of joe in the cup holder thats a snowboarder's dream for sure
I think they're talking about the differentials. Its a device that holds gears which transmit power from the drive shaft to the axles.
That thing's a freakin' beast! A behemoth! I love it!
sweeeeeet..... I want one, that bed cover is awesome!!
you already stated you would bring a jeep. thank you again Mr. Redundency.
That looks so fun to drive around in...
I went on a tour at Deerhurst in Huntsville in that, it was a blast.
nice setup i used to run rig roads with my dad in this much snow those tracks would have definatly improved the trip
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Wow. Badass. Two Step was a great choice for music as well.
THATS A MONSTER ...I LOVE IT!
that is the most badass hummer ever!!!
this is the definition of badass
wow that looks so fun!
best one i seen on youtube so far
What an unbelievable machine :0
and if you do somehow find a way to get this stuck, you can always just call in a chopper to hook cables to the hummer transport hooks, then you get an even more scenic view from the air

MY GOD I LOVE H1s.. no airbags and just a ton of steel to protect you from Katrina....

that thing is a beast
i just saw a green military one today with snorkled exhaust and intake....and matt tracks today while visiting in shelton washington.
they got these for quads now, serious fun in the sand
the ultimate offroad vehicle!
That Hummer is amazing! I dont think my Bravada could do that LOL.
i feel really warm and fuzzy watchin this knowing that i would be safe in this hummer while others would be left behind,, i need mat trax for my 96 f350 util body,, lol
I've been on that truck, that's the Deerhurst truck.
Aw, we could use one of those right now on the east coast. We got a blizzard here right now.
iTzTrAx1 - I can think of something. It's sort of similar. These on a Tacoma or 4Runner running shuttle for backcountry skiing. I wouldn't even know where to buy a cat, but these tracks would sure do the trick.
Looks like fun!
Wow thats amazing.
Mattracks are cool, and I expect they would let that H1 get all the way to the gas station again
wow that tough car. i like it
I guess what would be going through my mind the whole time is, "I wonder where the next gas station is".
do the tracks ever come off? IF not then that is supreme!
the song is "two step" by dave matthews band
very nice... i need to get a set of those... was just wondering how well it stops in the snow?
nice car. its so cool! how did you figure that out
Nice Video, Where did you get the Hummer Converted to have a Window set up like that? It's cool.
awesome ! and it's big as a house :P
this things can go ANYWHERE!
Im a Jeep fan myself. This is a beast though
if you would read in proper context i was referring to the fact that the Hummer is already incredibly capable off-road and that these mat tracks simply add to it capabilities.
Yeah, its hard to tell if its the snow or the tracks that lowers it.
I think you should try the rubicon, I want to see it go thru "little sluice".

so peacefull...
BC boy here, unless you live in the hills, I got you beat.

i think the military should invest in these during winter training.
imagine these on a land rover. Just as unstoppable as a hummer with 'em.
well this mattracks r builded for offroad not for style to drive in the city or on the motorway this can use for transport on the road before u leave and go offroad
i think even w/o mattracks H1 can still do that because H1 can almost go anywhere
name of the song is two step by dave matthews.
on a side note, i bet these do sweet in the sand to.
if you would look at other eirlier comments, it says that they stop as good on snow as tires on a normal road.
dude it is like a home
I want that car ! :)
whats witht he big canvace thing on the back? that's a sweet hummer :D
I'm in DC too. We got 20 1/2 inches.
There probably would be rioting in the streets, but gas will not be $20 a gallon for a very long time. By that time people will also be paid more and we will start using alternate forms of transportation more (not that I like the idea.)
this thing even drives down the main hwy
things just plowing through there likes it a normal day with tires backing out of ur backyard lol,
the ruts are so deep
yeah i plowed my drive way with my neon. there was like 1 1/2 feet of snow
how is it that this Mattracks system weakens the drive train? other then that it a really nice system how well dose it far on streets covered in Ice and snow?
wow, thats awesome, if only every trail was 14 feet wide it would be practical.
awesome vehicl....hat is the name of that song?
Awesome!!!!
and you be freezing your ass off while this guy drinks his tims and gets a hummer from his girl as you pass him lol
That is the worlds best combination. like fat people and cake or chuck norris and nun chucks!
Mattracks look the best on a hummer.
THOSE ARE REAL!!!!!
UNSTOPPABLE! o.O
that tracks make it look awsum...top speed??

It has the same tracks, but mutch bigger
Hey a fellow Canadian! Nice vid, nice toy! Eh.
A stupid question :
I think the power steering works under stress with those tracks. Isn't it?
call me stupid but the H1 is a VERY capable vehicle and personally i think we deserve to see a 2wd front or rear with the tracks and see how well it does i'd actually like to an old caddy sedan deville with these (i know stupid) but it's a "boat to be used as a sled" or along the lines of a chevy cobalt even a ford focus to a 2wd truck, should try it

amazing
I really like the music..do you know the name of the song ?
this may have been asked or may be a stupid question but are those mattracks street legal?
wat is that thing on the back, cool
its like " CCAMP WHERE EVER THE FUCK I WANT"
Yeah, we got a local guy here in Utah, with money, that bought a set of these for his Suburban, and made it 10 feet out into the snow and sank!! What a joke. Spent the rest of the day shoveling.
If I was rich I would move to alaska just so I could drive that shit every day all day. Fucking. Yes.
its like.. u will never stuck, if u have a Hummer and Mattracks ;)
We already have invented snowmobile for that lolllll
"Two Step" - Dave Matthews Band
Nice, i just got a R/C one that looks nearly idenical =)
that is fuccin awsome
@01sircharles It's about 3 ft. to wide

Now that is a Humvee. Those H2's and H3's ruined the looks so bad. I would hope to purchase one of the originals someday.
