Wow! Great video, that Hummer H1 is bad a$$!!! The first water crossing was gnarly, with that fast current lol!!!
It was! The whole trail was so different. I've never seen that water like that before
that hummer is gorgeous in my eyes
Very cool rig! Made my gladiator with 4.5 inch lift and 38s look tiny.
Love your background music. Was perfect…it enhanced the drama of your Trail run. This was so good. 🙏❤️🦅
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Today, I got lost on Sumas Mountain, but I unwind when I watch your videos 🤙
Hahah thank you! Did you unwind your new winch??
@@UnwindingRoads I got it installed, but haven't played with it yet. I'm just standing there, admiring it 😄
Idk everytime camera was on the jeep I was like 😐 and when it was the H1 I was like 😍😱🤤
Oh ya that hummer is awesome!
Great video Teddy. Watching the Hummer sink was bringing back memories of the Ram doing the same thing in the snow. Can’t wait to hit this trail with you sometime!!
Heck ya as soon as your back let's go check on the ram!
@@UnwindingRoads hell ya bother!
The water crossing at 4min is awesome! Great content
One of my favourite shots ever! Thank you Art! Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome Video, you guys were deep in the woods looked like a lord of the rings journey
Felt like one lol! Thanks for watching!
Frodo should carry the ring in these trucks instead of horses👍😁 love the contents, keep them vids coming cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺
That fog was pretty epic 🕺
That hummer guy literally brings the fog with him. The drone shot where we are along side the water (not crossing it) you can see the fog roll in as he drives by. So creepy lol
Awesome snow off road.😍
Thanks for watching! 🙂
That’s why I carry two chains for my tires, I have BFG KO2 31”, 2.5” lift, front Dana 30 auto lunchbox locker (engaged when in 4WD mode), rear POSI LSD locker Dana 44, winch. Still when off roading in snow, I put the two chains either on front tires or rear tires. Rarely need chains on all 4 tires. Usually I put them on rear. If more icy, I put them on front tires. Of course always 4WD off-road. My lockers are always on off road. I don’t disconnect my sway bar (manual front if I wanted to). It is a 1997 Jeep TJ 4.0 (I6). It is an old rig, manual transmission. But for snow, mud and off-roading in general, great machine. Not a rock crawler by any stretch. I do have the tradition pads too, but learnt to use the chains and not worry. So, get two chains, and you are golden.
I have chains. This stuff is the soft snow melt stuff. They wouldn't have helped. Needed to stay on top of it and not dig in. The gladiator was doing ok, but the weight of the hummer on this stuff was a bit tough
@@UnwindingRoads got it
@@bmorsh I think I'm going to do a chains video. So many people ask about why we do not use them. They definitely have their place and have saved me a ton.
Great video! Glad to see you active again!
Cheers! Thank you. Was a "ruff" patch there for a bit but we're back on track now!!!
Looks pretty slick. I know we always joke but I think I'm actually gonna get some chains.
This was like spring melt stuff. I'd like to do a video of chains vs no chains and when to use what. Air down vs chains etc. I think alot of people would like to know. Also I think our snow is different here. Our temps are constantly above and below zero....
@@UnwindingRoads that soft melty snow is definitely worse than the when it's fresh.
Done similar trails up near big bear lake in southern california, mix of Jeeps and Hummers. I found having a set of chains , even just 2 made a big difference for the H1's and Jeeps in the really deep snow on trails that are all drifted in and filled up.
Man, that Hummer Toe Angle was giving me taquycardia. Is that normal? lol
Otherwise, great vid, great ambient, great music, great illumination, great itinerary. Awesome stuff.
😂 It was pretty bad. It's fixed now. Thank you!
Awesome lockers are back and videos are back ✌
Yessir!!!
Sheesh was that Tie Rod bending at 7:44 on the H1. I totally get there’s a lot of unsprung weight but jeez that looked like a gnarly angle.
lol yes it was. it's fixed now. pretty wild.
Awesome video man loving the content! grate job!
Thank you!
Fun times, I think I’d be throwing iron, lol. Love the jeep, also love the H1’s but I know one wouldn’t fit in my parking spot, lol.
Hahaha they're definitely big!
It really sucks that the whole axel has to be replaced if those damn sensors break. So stupid that harness workarounds need to be done.
I’ve got my Vader / Stormtroopers vinyl graphic on my passenger dash. I show it in my rig walk around video. 🤙 at first I thought it would be cheesy but I think it’s great now.
I think quadratec makes a bypass now that installs inline with factory harness to fix the problem. I'll look into it more.
Evening. Aw missed it live
Just missed it! Next time!
How about "Miles to go"
OK been watching a few of your videos new to your channel. Just wondering where are you? This little river crossing is epic. I know it’s on a close road because it was a gate. Love it.
I'm in Vancouver British Columbia. All my videos are from south BC
@@UnwindingRoads very cool, so beautiful I watch the video with you and The story till now going down the Alexander McKenzie trail. It was awesome and epic.
@@danielshires3580 that was a trip of a lifetime for sure!
10 is a great starting point Teddy! Take it lower sir! Solid video! What is the mopar part number for the harness? I have been using a Taser cable for my locker problem.
I believe quadratec now makes a harness that plugs in line with the factory ones and fixes the locker issue. Mopar locker wiring harness 77072413 I believe
Love the video! Epic! You have a sub.
Thank you! Welcome to the channel!
Great video! Love your set up! Hope to see you out on the trails. Just look for the grey SAS'd Hummer H3 :) It looks like you have a great time out there!
Sas'd h3!!! That sounds awesome!
@@UnwindingRoads it’s pretty slick! It’s like a Jeep but with one less cylinder and smaller windows 😅. This thing is still fairly impressive- I love it! It gets the job done.
Great video Teddy! I have a 22 JLUR on order and would love to hit up a trail with you when it arrives 🤙🏽 hope you hit the 5k subs, you deserve it!
Not at 5k yet. That's the goal before summer! Congratulations on the new rig! Can't wait to see it!
7:42 😳 wow, what happened to that suspension? how does one tire turn to one side and the other stays straight? 🤔
Some worn out parts. Lol he had the parts already I can't remember what it was. But he got them put in right after this trip 😂 looks funny though
@@UnwindingRoads ahhh...and I thought it was some kind of special suspension. 🤣I started looking for diagrams and drawings 🤦♂😄
Haven't seen a new video lately . Everything all good?
I posted about a week and a half ago the Alexander Mackenzie Grease Trail video. I have another one very vloggy just visiting friends as they start building a Lamborghini urus tahoe thing that we are going to jump lol
I am land Rover and Jeep fan but Hummer is Hummer best Off roader
Especially when the hummer has a huge lift and 42 inch tires!
What suspension mods are on the H1? And what tire size?
I believe it's a 6 inch lift on 42s
Them tires on the H1 looks awesome
Wouldn't you want tall hard skinny tires in snow like that? It's all packed so no need to.try and "float" over it.
It was spring melt. Super soft slushy stuff. It does look hard packed!
Очень слабая проходимость у Хаммера
Такое ощущение что он тяжёлый и не едет...
Yes. It's too heavy for this snow. But it's great in everything else.
It's amazing how many people on youtube wheel in snow and don't use chains...
Ya there's a reason for that. I'm going to make a video this spring on why. But basically fresh snow, packed snow and ice is where chains will shine. Snow melt on the other hand, the chains dig in and make you sink fast. Especially going up hills. Low psi and staying on top of this stuff is best bet.
@@UnwindingRoads interesting. I'd think if the snow can support the weight of the vehicle it would have enough strength to support chains. I've always used chains, but never ran trails while they were melting, just fresh deep and packed snow... some ice too.
.
Always though about plumbing some propane burners on the back of the bumpers to heat up the tires... HAHA
@@KTMcaptain Hahaha that's a brilliant idea. If you take a close look at the knobbies on the hummer they dig into the snow quick. The same would happen with the chains in this stuff. I can't stress enough though, you are right, chains have saved me on a few occasions. Especially ice!
@@UnwindingRoads That hummer is pretty amazing. One of the reasons why I went with a Gladiator. Just love the style. Nearly bought an H3T alpha, but friends steered me into a tacoma trd off road that I hated and got rid of after a year. Chains and Knobbies definitely dig, just gotta hope the hard stuff gets there quicker than your frame
@@KTMcaptain lol I like that line. Hope the hard stuff gets there before the frame 😂 nice! I'm happy with the gladiator as well!
Snow chains
In this stuff that would be a bad idea. You can see the hummer was already digging down just from the knobby tires and weight. Whereas I was able to float through a little better with the wider flatter tire. Chains are for ice, low psi is for snow.
@@UnwindingRoads ahhh, maybe low psi + chains?
@@TangodownNZ Hahaha that would be the dream! Except you shouldn't be aired down to use chains Hahaha chains in the ice is unstoppable though
@@TangodownNZ Hahaha that would be the dream! Except you shouldn't be aired down to use chains Hahaha chains in the ice is unstoppable though
@@UnwindingRoads I would try chains. I’m sure you would get better traction because I see your wheels slipping. Great video! Liked and sub’d
👍👍🔥
🤙 Thank you!
Ok! I need your mother in law to take my money so I can get a hat!
Perhaps for next fall we will get some made!
Love the videos but that music is just too over the top. I’m not watching a dramatic movie, i’m watching jeeps, let’s get real.
Why didn't you use chains, and you won't have had to wench yourself's out so much.
In this slop chains would make it worse. As you can see the hummers mud tires dig in quick whereas my tires were able to float on top better. Chains definitely help in alot of situations. This snow melt stuff not much.
When that hummer came rolling in… just dayum…. Bad a$$
That was raw footage. That's what happens everytime he rolls in lol
@@UnwindingRoads that hummer demands fear lol! You all planning to roll back down to WA sometime soon?
