In answer to your question, Blue is no different from Green server. Blue is the oldest server and has been around for a long time and already maxed in content as far as P99 is going to advance, Green was a re-roll of the server so every one could start over fresh. That's the only difference and Green has almost caught up to Blue now and will probably end up merging with Blue eventually and Green will re-start again like a progressive server. At this point in the life of the servers there is really no huge benefits in Blue over Green other than maybe a small difference in server economy.
I made characters on blue and have had some difficulty finding groups. Some people in the p99 discord said green was better for leveling fresh.
they started green like a week or two before brad mcquaid died i started a barb rogue and i remember running around everfrost when i heard the news, i was also one of the first 50 to log into Green, i was lucky enough to get fired from my job a week before and milked unemployment =)
Strafe running ftw ;-) (hold right mouse button and hold strafe and forward at the same time, while tilting your view a slight bit to the side will let you outrun most mobs) .... so you don't die so often^^
I just started playing on Green and this video has helped me a lot. Learning about Alt+O was big time helpful.
hi im looking to start p99, hows ur experience been so far ? still fun ?
@@farowtt4721 I've had a great time. Most people are friendly and nice to new people. I've found that many streamers on Twitch are happy to answer questions if they can. The community is great, everywhere you go.
I started WoW with a support group to help me learn, but EQ has a much higher learning curve and I have nothing but the internet, so thanks very very much for this, it is the best video I have seen so far, I hope you're doing great, you said you have Covid and haven't uploaded since... thanks again
First off, wanted you to get that 1000 views lol.. 2nd, glad to see someone with as messy a desktop as my computer... 3rd.. nice video.. Also, using old school maps like that, /loc is your friend!! Wow does this bring back memories of 2000'ish..
Really was always looking for a video like this. Thanks for the excellent get started guide.
I just installed it today, thanks for you vids
Wow, thanks so much! I would never have figured out you were supposed to open up your inventory and read letters to get started. I thought you had to go talk to some NPC. I'm a total EQ noob. I technically started in 2019 but all I did in P99 back then was run around.
Clerics have the highest damage spells against undead also. Undead zones are killer for a cleric. You can mop up. You can find a group faster than any other class as a cleric. You will be sitting A LOT of the time medding.
Very helpful, thank you very much for sharing!
excellect starter guide, i have never played everquest before and this helped a ton
Thanks so much for the guide! I was lost without your help!
Just for necro and shadow knight, you have to be careful and consider every caracter before ineteract with them cause those 2 class are consider "evil" and some people don't like you at all and can kill you without warning, other point, if you die you loose all your stuff you have to go to your corpse to bring back your stuff so pay attention if you go somewhere dangerous.
And the community is excellent, hl are generous in general with newbies.
Great video. I do also need to figure out food and how to stack or unstack stuff. I'll google that of course, but if you happen to do a follow up video, those are two things I've totally forgotten about since I played back in 02.
First time I’ve heard it pronounced Ike-saur, it was always ick-saur to me. Thanks for the guide, I’m thinking of going back and trying to max out my necro, he’s been sitting at 54 for a while.
Keep in mind at level 20 you get a surname. So you can add a last name to your character like I had a monk whose first name was WopChop and his last name was chuey
Thank you so much for making this video.
Nice intro. Personally, I don't like using out of game sources like maps, part of eq was learning surroundings and maps yourself, but I see why for this video you'd suggest it
Thanks dude, lots of help
Thanks man this was helpful!
I had no idea Ben Shapiro was into EQ! Seriously though, good video thanks. I'm grateful Quarm has a compass lol. Too bad the camera is absolute buttcheeks in Quarm atm, hope it gets adjusted in the future.
Something to add: If you turn in the Tomb of Discord, not only does it turn on your PvP flag (makes your name red) you can't turn it off. You also can't be buffed (and healed? I think) by non PvP players.
thank you for taking the time
The hardest part of starting was obtaining a decent name. Despite less than 1k players online at anytime, it seems every name with less than 3 syllables is either taken or restricted.
You cannot use any name that has ever been in any movie or any book, main character names I mean. You will never see a Gandalf or Aragorn or anything like that. You can be creative... name him like, Ganndalph or Airagon
Nice one bud!
Holy desktop Batman
your video is just a maravilla really this video is juste perfect a great great thank you
GAMES MAKING A COMEBACK
how do you pull up the actions box? lol i cannot find it!
As rogue is weak, could there be some addition to game that you could hire some thug as a rogue to level up with you, different classes could have some grinding companions from town with gold?
In the main game yes. Also some of the emulated servers. But never for p99
Part of the fun is figuring it out. Go halfling for the xp boost or go iksar for master race.
Bruh, your desktop looks like a nascar.
Can you play p99 on a Mac iOS 11.0?
Thats a lot of desktop icons.
lol is there a indicator to find the body? was a wood elf, fell off and died since i thought i could live... never found it
Ask a friendly bard around level 4 or 5 or above if i remember right (played one from 1990 for 15 years). Think rangers can track corpses too and necromancer and shadowknights can summon them with a coffin (expensive).
OMG what a desktop
Ben shapiro explains everquest
How much is the monthly cost to play? Do you need to buy the game to play?
Nope
This is a fan server, it's free
@@augustovieira1783 oh, thank you, good to know.
P99 would be more popular, if it was not such a pain in the ass to get the game downloaded and to buy the game version it requires which is not even being sold anymore :(
It most likely wouldn’t be just because of the grind and (by today’s standards) hardcore it is, EQ/P99 are extremely niche these days because of that.
Also, it’s easy to just google a video tutorial that has the titanium version download link, and I had P99 running in like 5 minutes including download times.
I had 384 days play time launch to luclin. Luclin ruined it all, and when they started removing quests and lore to add new expansions, no thanks.
Wish this guide covered how to get the verification email sent to me. I've requested it get resent everyday for the past two weeks and I haven't received one yet. I suppose the admins just don't want more players on their servers? Yes, I have checked ALL my mail folders, they just refuse to send it.
Probably something to do with the email service you’re trying to use. My Comcast email never got a verification, I had to use my gmail to make an account.
Is it possible to be good at EverQuest and not have every word that comes out of your mouth be advanced terminology of MMOs?

if you are going to make any kind of tutorial on a game or anything else for that matter it is pretty important to know what you are talking about and do your research. you seem to be "drawing a blank" about quite a bit. you also stumble with umm, umm, umm quite a bit. if you want this video to really be valid you should probably either re-do it or at a minimum re-record the voice over.
Nice tutorial. Is troll shaman hard for a beginner to use? I know they are evil and have low wisdom and an xp penalty, would that be frustrating?
Lots of that kind of advice is for people starting their seventeenth alt and looking to skip the exploration aspect. If you're still learning WHY being evil is bad, or what stats do, it's way less of an issue.
@@HallyVeestrangest answer to that question. Well done. Not.
