AT her heaviest, Amanda Conti from Rhode Island weighed 256lbs, before going on to lose 120lbs. Growing up she always struggled with her weight, and accounts her love of comfort food as being her achilles heel. She had lost a significant amount of weight in her twenties, but after getting married at 24, she slowly started to add the weight back on. Amanda gave birth to a healthy first daughter with husband John, but after losing a second trimester pregnancy her weight spiralled out of control. It wasn’t until the birth of her second daughter that she knew she needed to take action. Amanda told Truly: “When I had my second daughter and she was healthy, that was definitely the kickstart to me losing weight and becoming a better parent." She started with walking and implementing small lifestyle changes, and never looked back. Amanda now works out seven days a week, often with her father, who jokes that she outlifts him now. Despite her lifestyle changes and impressive weight loss, Amanda was left with excess skin that she had removed via an abdominoplasty. Things didn’t quite go to plan with some complications as a result of the anaesthesia, which left Amanda in hospital for 10 days recovering. Now fully healthy and recovered, Amanda wants to acknowledge the journey she has been on with a celebratory photoshoot as she shows off her new look.

I am 190 I always been 145 my whole life at one point lower than that I've gained over 50 lbs in the last 4 years and now that I am engaged I am wanting more to be healthy again. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx5VQ5nUzHu6i0O5_u7ipyLnCz0lbsSvr0 I am not fat but I am thick and have muscle. I am very close to how you were but a lil smaller but I am so sick people making comments to me like I'm huge or like you said having shorts that used to be so cute on me and now I can't even find a pair to fit me. I used to love shopping now I don't even want to go to the store and if I do I pick the biggest size don't even try it on and deal with it. I went from size 5 to size idk because I don't even want to know the real number. I hate looking at pics of myself now or me before. thank you for your video it's time to make a change.
I started at 420 lbs
Currently at 315 lbs
My goal is 190 lbs!
I want to give up sometimes! These type of stories inspire me to keep going.
I’ll be On Truly telling my story when I reach my GOAL.
Don't give up on yourself. Keep going, I'm sure you're doing a fantastic job. KEEP YOUR FOCUS!!! 🙌🙌
@@jenniferbullett7254 thank you so much I appreciate it I will keep going.

@@jenniferbullett7254 Amen Thank you, I appreciate the advice and I will focus on me. I’ll be on Truly when I reach my goal! I’m trying to grow my channel as I lose weight. Just started uploading vids to the channel.
It's nice to see how supportive of a father she has. ❤
From someone who's dad never cared about her and was absent, I get emotional seeing dads who care about their kids. She's so lucky to have such a supportive dad! I think she looks great and it's so empowering to see people make these kinds of transformations.
“I got 4 months of maternity leave so I was really fortunate” 😳…. I’m Canadian… we get a year….. to bond and nurture the small person that came out of your body…..
Well hell she said that because normally we only get 6 weeks.
So when she said 4 months...
I was like wuuuuuuuuuut
Some countries you get longer. It's rare you get longer then 4 to 6 months of Maternity leave. I wish it was longer in the USA. 😓 One of my friends was on a 6 month leave but only because she had a C-section.
In Germany up to three years...
In Kenya 3 months is the standard
As a teacher, in the US, I planned a spring and summer baby for that very reason-- more time with my baby. Instead of weeks, I got months off
Actually what really got my attention is, how clean, neat, organized, and uncluttered her closet and house are! She is definitely an efficient homemaker!
Eating for comfort is a challenge for a lot of people. I've lost 150 pounds, I still stuggled. If you deal with it, you are NOT alone :)
I had that problem too. I ate for comfort. Then I would go on a challenge, lose some weight (about 5-7 lbs), and gain it all back again because I would revert back to emotional eating. Then I stopped and never went back, and I lost 35 lbs which almost leads me back to my weight when I was in my early 20s. I am still maintaining my weight loss. I had to be serious about it. Being on a routine and sticking to it and knowing why I had to is key. If more people knew that healthy foods not only contribute to health, but your mental health and spiritual health. All aspects of my being have strengthened.
Great! You inspire me!!
It's amazing how losing weight can give you this rejuvenation of youth. She looks great!!! Good for her
Wow I’m so proud of her for taking the initiative to create the life she wanted. It’s easy to rely on food when you’re going through a tough time. She’s so strong and I couldn’t be happier for her 💜
yeah but then she did her lips and botoxed her face into a plastic doll

She looks fantastic, one of the best transformations i have seen.
This lady is amazing! She seems like she has a very kind heart.
Wow. Inspiring story. I love how her Dad is with her. I love the donut onesie.
I was smiling the whole way through! Very inspiring, I'm glad her daughters were able to motivate her 😇
Losing my first baby was also my motivation to lose weight :) I lost 40 pounds and was able to get pregnant with two healthy boys
congrats!

I am sorry for your loss ♥️
I'm sorry for your loss. She said that losing her baby caused her to gain weight though.

Awww her dad is so great, a girl could only dream ❤️
Aww her dad is a rockstar!
Love the quote at the end!
Use your own weight loss as a motivator.
Awe this was so touching and her dad seems so kind, loving and proud. I really enjoyed this episode and congratulations to her! She looks amazing 😍
Comfort eating seems to be a major problem. Overcoming that problem is the key to a healthier lifestyle
So pretty either size. Her dad helping her made me cry. Nothing like a good support team
What a loving father this beautiful woman has! Awesome success story. Thank you for sharing and encouraging the rest of us ❤
OMG!!! SHE LOOKS AMAZING ❤❤❤

I comfort eat as well. I also struggle with Bulimia. Lately though I have lost around 30 pounds. I'm still going. It's hard due to mental and physical struggles but it's worth it. She looks great. It's great that she wants to be healthy for herself and her family.
Sending you good energy for your journey 🙏 you're a warrior
@@nataliet8149 Thank you :) A little encouragement goes a long way!
I hope you’re also checking in with a professional mentally to help you during your journey 💙.
@@BlackGirlLovesAnime6 Oh, definitely. I have a great therapist! She's helping me a ton with various mental health issues. I don't know what I'd do without her! I hope anyone suffering with mental health problems is able to find help and also be open enough to receive the help. It took me a long time to admit that I needed it. It's hard taking those first steps but it's totally worth it! No one should feel weak or ashamed to admit they need help!
She has to be my fav so far, she looks amazing. Im loving the photoshoot idea.
Good for her. She didn’t look to bad when she was chubby, but I’m glad she did what she did for herself and her kid.
No one looks great chubby. Like let's get real.
@@noneya1238 she looked perfectly ok as a chubby person.
@@natevic1867 No she didn't, only people that say that are chubby chasers and overweight people in denial. which both have major issues. She looks 10x better, no one wants to look like that, and most importantly, she's healthier and feels better and will be here for a long time to enjoy her beautiful family.
@@noneya1238 shush
@@natevic1867 Perhaps, she's an attractive person but being that overweight is very unhealthy.
I feel for anyone that has put on weight gain while being a mother. Sometimes it’s so convenient to just get that alone time and reach for a bad snack or McDonald’s. It’s so easy to just forget that we can’t do that everyday. I’m so happy for her. Such a hard thing to get over.
Gorgeous woman, God bless her and her beautiful family!
Im glad you added some truth in with these weight loss videos about how there is loose skin. Most of the time everyone tries to hide that fact and denies the need for surgery. So i appreciate that honesty
Good for you Amanda and for all the Amandas in the world who conquered their weight issues. Love success stories like these.
First, you are gorgeous. Your face is gorgeous. Second, the progress you made is incredibly inspiring.
I’m so sorry you had that experience with the tummy tuck. I’m not a fan of plastic surgery bc the risks are too much to me (even though I would definitely support a little tummy tuck) and to see you go through that was even more eye opening. You just never know. Thank God you are okay and growing stronger in every way.
She’s looking amazing!! And what a hair!!! 😍 so pretty!! Congrats
I absolutely love this series
You're amazing and your dad is a hero. Ya'll keep at it and I love your story.
I love this so much. Great job girly!!!! Hard work always pays off!
So attractive when women have the determination and gile to be the best version of themselves.
Its like i needed to see this. Had a baby about a year ago and i got into a funk. I started habit forming with my diet by taking small steps but i am going to start implementing exercise now that i have lost 15lbs. You inspired me to keep going and i am so overjoyed for what you accomplished because it was something you could do for yourself. You look great!
John and Amanda, much love and support for you two!! Go Rhode Island! So amazing to see this beautiful family have an amazing story to share. Hugs and kisses! - Tabatha
This is really motivating. I’m now at my heaviest 254 and I can see that I can do it just like she did!!
Such an amazing story- her dad is so sweet. 🥲
She looks so good 💜 I'm so proud of her! I lost 70 lbs right before the pandemic started then I gained it all back 🥺 I'm devastated..I don't know how to get that drive back that I had😭
You got this💪🏾👍🏾please don’t give up. Think about how you felt when you was 70 pounds lighter and how much you would love to get back to that and let that be your motivation.
Start super small, replace a bag of chips with a veggie, do a 5 minute exercise. Looking at the big picture is too overwhelming. And if you lost 70lbs before, you can definitely do it again!
You can do it!!!! I believe in you!!! I also lost 30 pounds before the pandemic and then gained 20 back!!! And I just keep gaining…. It’s so hard and feels like I don’t have the willpower anymore because I do comfort eat a lot!! But videos like this motivate me! We just have to keep working at it and make healthy choices!! ❤️

Thank you Amanda for sharing your story, this was really inspiring. I’ve been struggling since the birth of my 3rd child and had gained so much weight during the pandemic. I’m tired of feeling this way and ready to get to the next chapter of my life where I’m finally healthy and happy because I haven’t been for the last 3yrs. 💗 God bless you!

So proud of your weight loss accomplishment. I also have loose skin after my c section and you have really inspired me to go ahead and get it fixed. I began a weight training regimen a few months ago and it has changed my life. I almost am at my old weight of 145 and was 220 lbs after the birth. I've come a long way and it has become a lifestyle. Wow this story resonates! I too have beta thallesemia and lost 30+ Lbs at 19 and thought I had it under control but started creeping up again in my late 20’s. I also got in medication that blew me up when I hit 30yrs but I’m ready for a change. What worked before no longer works because of the medicine but I’m going to keep at it until something budges. Congrats to you, you look great
She's so sweet and looks amazing! I wish I could work out with my Dad everyday! What a blessing. Beautiful family.
This was sooooo motivational!! Truly!!
So inspiring! I went through a very painful experience two years ago and since then, I've put on 3st(42lb). I have had eating disorders on and off for 15yrs, I'm at a point where I just want to be healthy for my kids, to set a good example. Good on you girl! ♥️
You can do it! Start with small changes in your diet and fitness. Remember, we all fall off track; just forgive yourself and start fresh the next minute, hour, or day. As a person who has dealt with anorexia, I found that exercising has helped me to view food as fuel instead of as something that will make me fat or unhealthy. For you, it may help to set fitness goals, so you view your body as something that can accomplish amazing things instead of focusing only on how it looks.
@@emem2863 Thank you, love. I'm trying. Ana kinda tries to sneak back alot, it's quite hard. Especially, now that I got fatter. 😑
@@RaineSophiaLewis It's hard, but you can do it. I recently stopped weighing myself because the scale rarely budges and instead started focusing on other wins, such as clothes getting consistently looser and my ability to do more demanding workouts. Whatever you need to do to stay on track, you can do it!
@@RaineSophiaLewis I was hospitalized for an eating disorder numerous times. Blacked out upwards of 10 times a day for months. I'm very far into recovery and I just want to say a few things coming from someone who understands your struggle. You didn't "Get fat", you got your life back. When you let Ana control your thoughts, actions, your feelings...you're not living your life anymore, Ana is. When you aren't nurturing your body you're in a fog, you're not really you. When you start to think that because your body is physically changing you're losing control, remember that you're actually gaining control. You're deciding that you are going to love yourself enough to nurture yourself. When it got really hard for me I thought of myself as a mother to my body, if this body was my child would I want them to starve? To be disgusted with themselves? Would I make them workout till they can hardly breath? I wouldn't, because a mother loves thier child even if they don't love how they turned out. Stay strong Raine, from a random stranger...I love you
@@Beeboop7 I just cried a lil bit. I love you too, babs. Sorry, that you had to go through the pain of it too. I know, it just feels like there's always the shadow of your ED lingering there, waiting for a chance to come back. Like, I do feel healthier, I do have more energy, I'm doing things I missed doing with my kids because of the ED but inside, I feel uncomfortable in this new body, like its not fully my own(which may sound a lil crazy), I feel like a strange need to go back. A pull, if you will. It's hard to explain.

I have a trick for those that have loose skin and can't get the tummy tuck surgery done or cosmetic surgery have excess skin from their body removed.
This tip is extremely successful if the person is exercising while doing so all you got to do is choose an oil of your choice whether it's olive oil coconut oil jojoba oil apply it to your skin all over your body after you get out of the shower or the bath but you want to air dry because drying off of the towel causes stretch marks when you rub the towel back and forth over your skin.
I love her honesty!!
WOW! So encouraging! I've been trying to lose weight all my life!
Great photo shoot for a great ending!

Amanda just enhanced her beauty after she lost a lot of weight.
Congratulations, Mom. :)
I agree, Amanda is beautiful regardless.

No point in being beautiful if you’re not healthy. Beauty isn’t going to make you not end up dead by your 50s from diabetes and obesity
