INSPIRING others has become a lifestyle for a woman who dropped an incredible 150 pounds and became a fitness and nutrition coach. In 2012, Desiree Hunt began transforming herself through diet and exercise, dropping from 275 pounds to 130 pounds in 18 months. The Winnipeg-native now works out five to six days a week. She told Truly: “At 275 pounds, I was miserable. And I've always been a very self-conscious person - my weight held me back big time." Now Desiree and her new partner Kevin are helping others to drop the weight and live a healthy lifestyle.

I've lost 60lbs in about 8 months. Still going. I was 350lbs at my largest. Bout another 100-120lbs to get rid of.
    04/11/2020
    Down a bit after a plateau. 288lbs.
    05/30/2020
Well...I've hit another plateau. I've maintained 288lbs since I updated last time. At least I haven't gained!! I'm hoping to get my knees replaced soon (I go to the doctor this Thursday) so that I can start working out. Of course, with Covid-19, the gyms aren't open yet. I can do things at home, however. I'm doing upper body exercises in the meantime. Let me know when y'all want more updates. It's sometimes difficult to find this video.
    07/01/2020
Hey y'all!! Can y'all believe that I'm down to 280lbs!!!👏👏👏 I have to say that I'm so proud of myself. I'm almost at my temporary goal of 275lbs. After that, my next goal is 250lbs. My orthopedic says that I can have the knee replacement now. Unfortunately, it may be a while because they're having to catch up from when they couldn't do anything due to Covid-19. After the surgery, I hoping to get to a gym. My son has also said that he'll be my workout person. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. It really helps and I appreciate it. Well, I'm going to keep on moving.
    07/26/2020
I'm down to 270lbs! I had my knee replacement a week ago today. Although I'm fighting a possible infection, I'm doing well. My physical therapist is very happy with my progress. Of course, it hurts like a MFer!!! But I can't wait to be more active. Temporary goal 250lbs...here I come!!
    09/13/2020
I finally had my knee replacement surgery on 08/19/2020. I've gained some weight back, 274.2lbs, but my doctor says that it's normal, especially after surgery. I'm not discouraged. I know that as I get stronger, I'll loose more weight. Just have to keep pushing forward. Thank you for all of the encouragement and positive feedback. I will prevail!!
    11/02/2020
I know that it's been a while since I last had an update. I will say this, however, total knee replacement recovery is hard!!! It's getting better...just in time to have my right knee replacement surgery on 11/18/2020. I'm still at 270lbs, but I feel that I should explain. About a month ago I had to go on oral steroids (prednisone) for a chronic illness flare. I was on the steroids for two weeks. As hard as I tried not to, I gained up to about 285lbs. After stopping the medication, it took me about 3 weeks to get back to my infamous starting point of 270lbs. I'm hoping that once the 2nd surgery is done, I'll be able to start working out at a regular gym by the beginning of the year. On top of that, my health insurance company will be paying for a gym membership. I'm hoping that my local YMCA is on the list (they're still finalizing contracts), as for there's an indoor heated pool, as well as classes of every kind. The Y here also offers trainers to help develop, and enforce, individual programs. I'm hoping, though, that the holidays don't become a detriment. Moderation is what has to be maintained!!! I want to Thank everyone for all of the encouragement and well wishes! It really helps me to not get down on myself. Especially when I gained the steroid weight and seem to be stuck on this plateau. I'll try to do better with the updates, but there are possibly some big changes in my life coming around the corner, but I don't want to jinx it. Until next time...
    01/13/2021
Well, it's a new year. And I'm still maintaining 270lbs🙁 My endocrinologist, however, has suggested that I do intermittent fasting. He explained to only consume calories from 12-6pm. He said start slowly. I'm going to try it. My 2nd knee replacement surgery has been complicated. I contracted an infection the 2nd week, have had increased pain, swelling and inflammation. I still go to physical therapy, but it's difficult. I have learned some exercises that will help with the weight loss though. I'm planning to join the YMCA since they have heated pools. I hope that helps. I'm just having to be cautious due to Covid-19. At least I'm out of the wheelchair and walking. Thank you all for your encouraging words! The journey continues...

Kim Chi I have to say you are mostly correct. I have never been the type person that unless someone can’t handle the truth then they should not ask me “does my butt look fat in these jeans”. I am too honest yet so many people think that being honest makes them heartless and cruel. That’s not the case at all at least with me. If I ask someone a question whether it’s negative or positive I can handle it because deep down we know the truth yet so many want to sugar coat everything. It then becomes a situation of why ask if you want me to lie to you? This young lady in this post is simply saying the truth that the video is about weight loss not her face. Instead of people being happy for the girl in the video they choose to beat her up over her face which has nothing to do with the video.

What a wonderful and inspiring video. I was 105 kg, I am 83, I still want to lose another 10 kg until the end of the year, without "suffering" I take daily walks and food reeducation, I drink more than 3 liters of water a day. I leave GG and XG for G and some models even use M, as I am happy. I'm going to do it in all the videos I did, tell a little about my story. Maybe I can help and motivate a lot of people. These two are far better role models than that awful woman Tess Holiday or whatever she's called
Celebrating morbid obesity is every bit as morally wrong as hatred directed towards fat people
Encouraging obese people to lose weight in a positive, motivational way that helps them achieve their goals is the only correct approach to the issue
And that means educating them on dieting - including the role of macronutrients as well as calories in food - as well as cardiovascular exercise and weight training
And don't they just look so happy together as a couple!
What a contrast with the constant misery of obesity and ill health!

Maybe you don't see the progress, doesn't mean it isn't happening. That's what I get from all the "body positive" vids. Don't be ashamed, learn to actually love yourself. You do more for those you love.

Looking weight really makes you look older in the face. All the people that I see lost weight, looked older. Yes cuz it happens over time and people age but even if someone lost in just months. Look at boxers when they lose weight in just weeks, they look drained and old at the weigh ins

    • @Wakeupgrandowl
      @Wakeupgrandowl 4 роки тому +14

@@saleemjavaid8870 It's because you lose fat in the face and more of the aging shows. I believe if you've never had to lose significant weight you look younger longer. The fullness disappears with low body fat and creases and hollows of age appear. Also, skin loses elasticity over time and from stretching. The older you are and the more fat you carry in the face the more drastic these negatives _may be_ with weight loss. Also, the sculpted brows, lip-filler, heavy make-up look more aging than her bare chubby face did. I bet she looks younger without her make-up. Anyway, it doesn't take away from her fitness wins, and her achievement has been incredible.
