Wow, this is a seriously appealing home/studio. It feels like someone really lives here and that they love it themselves so much. Love the black and white drama of it!
I love that all the rooms have some personality with the artwork. You rarely see any luxury apartments/houses that look like you could actually live there, because they lack personality and look really cold and empty. But this warehouse is amazing
this encapsulates the dream I always wanted and I would move in there when I have the dough. Darker tones suit my mood. Art integrated into this home completes it, what a home! The owner is a pure talent/genius.
This is one of the coolest spaces you've ever showcased. I love the vibe of this place. It's so unique and the artwork really makes it something special. That 16ft painting is spectacular.
This should feel cold. Not cold, icy. And it is not. Defys every advice given about how to warm up a space, and gives a feeling of familiarity. Even the light is cold, but it warms up everything. No real windows, but you can breathe. Yes, this is high-end art, without showing and screaming for attention. It is beyond beautiful. It feels coming from a place of being humble but elegant. Thank you, i never thought that a rectangular metal hanger is what i want.
This place is obviously very specific to the owners tastes and for that reason I get it. The location and it being a remodeled factory, OK cool. I think it could be so much more than what it is. BUT, I have no idea where the thumbnail of batman came about other than it being click bate. Definitely disappointing seeing that there was absolutely no hint of a batman theme at all
McKinley Park area is chock full of those lofts and old warehouses...i grew up not too far from there but who knew in the 70s those okd buildings would be used for such brilliance !
Fast forwarded the master bedroom closet… no wardrobe surprises there. Less black turtlenecks than I expected, but perhaps they are folded away in drawers.
The whole house is incredibly soothing, which you don't usually think of with a more surrealistic, industrial space. This house is the greatest testament to the artists gift. His artwork is mind blowing - might not be for everyone but I love modern art. Great tax break for him too with having his work space, office space and gallery there.
A bit too dark for me but the editing of this video is insanely good which tricks my brain in liking this property more than I should. Outdoor space with the vine on the brick is lovely. If they aren’t going to do windows in the primary/guest bedroom they should do a skylight. SN-I wouldn’t test that carbon monoxide theory. Lol
This was really cool! The only thing I did not like was the lack of windows, and the banquet hall when you walk in. However, this house was built for that specific person, so I won't stress what I didn't like, but appreciate the owners taste!
In my opinion, housing market crash is imminent due to the high number of individuals who purchased homes above the asking price despite the low interest rates. These buyers find themselves in precarious situations as housing prices decline, leaving them without any equity. If they become unable to afford their homes, foreclosure becomes a likely outcome. Even attempting to sell would not yield any profits. This scenario is expected to impact a significant number of people, particularly in light of the anticipated surge in layoffs and the rapid increase in the cost of living.
I suggest you offset your real estate and get into stocks, A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you're careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying, cash isn't king at all in this time!
You are right! I've diversified my portfolio across various markets with the aid of a financial adviser, I have been able to generate a little bit above $450k in net profit across high dividend yield stocks, ETF and bonds.
I have been thinking about how to grow my reserve by at least 40% or more within months. I will be grateful if you can give tips or anything on how to make good market picks and how I can get my portfolio diversified and balanced in order to meet up my target.
Certainly, there are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've been stuck with *KAREN* *MARIE* *GENDRON* for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive.
Thanks for this. I just googled her name and found her webpage. I'm really impressed with her credentials and I reached out to her since I need all the assistance I can get.
When you consider the function of this house (artists studio, gallery) then it makes more sense to me. Aesthetically this home is beyond words. My only wants in a space like that are more windows and skylights....with the addition of more outdoor spaces. With that said, there are many elements of this house that I love, and would love to incorporate into my own home. It really is stunning.
I love it!!! As an artist and an intuitive empath I could feel that place as much as I could see it and although it seems dark in colour the mood is not, I felt like it was motivating, provocative, very controlled & deliberate & sharp! This must be such a fascinating man! 😊
This is very cool 😎, I can see why you call it the Batman 🦇 warehouse. I could live here. So why is the owner wanting to sell and relocate? With the way it is, as a studio space, I would think it would be a hard sell? Does he have other people working with hin, to need multiple office spaces? Do the bedrooms meet code with no windows for egress, not to mention be kinda claustrophobic? Otherwise, the place is out of this world 🌎. Erik, you matched this tour with that beautiful leather jacket and attire, and you are right. This is best viewed at night🌙, buddy.
@erikvanconover I can understand that. I just thought it looked cool also can I ask do you do videos of people making home out of container storage units 🤔
Crazy thing about this property is that it’s not where you would expect something like that to be. I live in Chicago, pass through that area quite often for work and it’s not like deep in the hood but there’s definitely gangs around there and it can get sketchy
1:46 the screams and tense soundtrack make you feel like you're touring the haunted home of a cheezy cereal killer 😂 Maybe some cool industrial music would have been cooler than a horror soundtrack.
Chicago is always where I imagined Batman would actually be while Superman would operate in the north east in New York, Newark, Philly, and Boston cause he flies And maybe he'd work at the Boston Globe.
Cool joint but the neighborhood will be a turn-off for most potential buyers. Lower middle class to middle class, industrial blue collar vibes. Across the street from a brake and muffler repair shop. 200 to $300k houses and this place is 2.5M.
Wow. Way overpriced. I love the space, aside from the barrel-vault ceiling area but it’s not worth close to that. Put some baseboard reveals, concrete floors and plaster walls in a warehouse and and ask 5-8x the average cost of the area? Soo many warehouses are in this general area - in Chicago all over - that can be had for way sub-$350k. I’d be curious to know what was done to the structure itself during the buildout.
Absolutely! I have heard stories of people who started with little or no knowledge but managed to emerge victorious thanks to Ana Graciela Blackwelder.
I see the allusion to a "Batman" idea, dark, wealthy and outside of "Gotham-ish City....Chicago." But living outside of Chicago myself I've always dreamed of converting a Warehouse. I would take some elements of this in my design, but this is definitely unique and ridiculously unaffordable in the Chicago real estate market lol
I was worried when I read "the batman warehouse" and also when you walked into the black and grey-ish coloured space. My fears soon abated when I saw the other rooms. That is one beautiful and stylish "warehouse." Well done to the owner of the house.
Interesting concept, not my taste but it's nice to see something very different sometimes, I'd just put more windows in some areas. Anyway I don't get the connection between Batman and this house, no batman feels except there is a lot of black.
I already know the house, Saw it before, but why are you and the others always talking about Batman 😳😳😳 and Lukas i love your work and the way you see the world
What I really like about the home is how well it blends in. You mention that you didn't really like it at first during the day time and I think even that was intentional. You might think that's a stretch but you said look at the location and even how the entrance blends to the outdoors and if it's meant to be like Batman that would be intentional even when you think that's certainly not done with a purpose but I bet it is. It's supposed to be unassuming and look super meh and even not really all that inviting it's Batman's Warehouse and then at night like you said it takes on a lot more character and purpose and a better sense of theme and character. That's exactly it. So perhaps it did an even better job than we first thought :D
Not Batman, more like 50 shades of gray
Yeah whatever man
You said, "gray".. right?
Secret hidden bedroom sealed it for me lol
a sloth
50 shades of hay

Yeah, Imma have to remodel a bit….😂
Interesting. I felt like that house had no personality

mr. van for president 🇺🇸
Yeah I got my dinner prepared and ready to watch 20min of exactly what I want to build. I think i would have done it differently.
@@blahblahh7249Vance is garbage
It really isn't Batman, it's like he made his dream home and said "I can call it the Batcave for Clickbait"
Heating that open space during a Chicago winter ain't cheap

"Fewer" - Stannis Baratheon.

Its less Batman and more supervillain if you ask me. I could see Lex Luther residing here, not Bruce Wayne.
A bit too dark for me but the editing of this video is insanely good which tricks my brain in liking this property more than I should.

To be a Bruce Wayne residence in 2024 you'd have to drive an EV, no carbon monoxide worries.
Amazing design...but I could not live in it. Miss some windows and natural sunlight ^^
The bedrooms especially could use some windows, but some people like not having windows.
I love it! This is my dream home
This was really cool! The only thing I did not like was the lack of windows, and the banquet hall when you walk in. However, this house was built for that specific person, so I won't stress what I didn't like, but appreciate the owners taste!
Skylights or skylight-shafts would have been welcome.
Yeah, the lack of windows in the bedrooms is a bit iffy.
The big and very beautiful painting on the wall is the Universe giving birth to this house.
