Both beautiful versions but Lucy just has this incredibly warm and beautiful tone, thats hard to beat for me! Love pentatonix also , they all have beautiful voices
I love both versions and I listen to both Pentatonix and Lucy regularly. Lucy’s version was chosen for the film On a Wing and a Prayer, released on Amazon Prime. ❤
This was fun. Pentatonix has five voices, and all of them are adults with fully developed voices. Lucy did her version at 16 and since then it keeps getting better. Anyway, these are the two best versions of this song that I know of.
Comparing Pentatonix and Lucy Thomas is like comparing apples to oranges. They are both epic in their performance. I heard Pentatonix's version many years ago. I heard Lucy Thomas's version 18 months ago. I find it interesting that it takes 5 voices to match the majestic sound of Lucy's voice. They are both extremely enjoyable to listen to. But if I was limited to just one version of this song, it would be the Lucy Thomas version.
Lucy's voice is so beautiful she has made me enjoy diva hits from 50 years ago that never much moved me back then. Never heard anyone with that ability before.
My choice is Lucy. Pentatonix is a corporate collection of singers. Lucy was only 16 when this was released. Also something interesting is that Phil at Wings of Pegasus has shown that Pentatonix is pitch corrected. It is also digitally enhanced That is kind of strange considering it is A cappella.

I absolutely agree with you on this .
Lucy's voice which has wonderful vibrato, sounds to me more natural and less digitally produced than the voices in Pentatonix.
Wow… great opinion
