I feel like this is literally what always happens whenever you try to do something "simple" on a car. Every time I start a project on my car I've never done before, I make an estimate of how long it will take, and then triple it.

Really hope you are getting bucket seats... the way the harnesses are mounted now in any big accident the headrest would bend/break, your harness would suddenly be loose and you would slip out of them, flying into the wheel and then bouncing off the wheel and hitting your head on the roll bar because the headrests fell off. If you get good seats however it will be track ready and no longer a death trap!
Surely the rollbar will prevent any impact between floor and headrests?? I don’t see how the headrests can bend or break with a roll bar in place.
BTW, pretty sure you've got the springs set to their maximum height, rather than minimum height...

dragkid185 Sure, but just looking at them fitted on the car, it looks like they're adjusted to the highest point in the thread. I could be completely wrong but surely screwing the adjustment washers and compressing the spring would lower the car no? I'd actually like to know, since I don't!
Ray Syed No adjusting them higher increases the spring rate making the car sit higher. He's pretty much bottomed the adjusters as low as they go. If he wanted to go low he would have bought some ultimos.
What a clusterfk, haha. This is why I'm here, this is why I'm watching. 10/10 were not disappointed.

I'm really glad that the previous owner of my MX5 already installed a roll bar, this looked like a complete ball ache
I love ALL the mods! Next should be a small ducktail spoiler (Thats functional with the boot rack) and a hardtop snap on roof!
Don't forget, good sport wheels alignment like the 949 Dual duty one.
Don't forget ajusting tires pressure for the track
Don't forget to top up fluids
Put Carbone Lorraine brakes pad on it

PS: And because now you have ajustable coil overs, please use it properly by corner weighting your car, massive, massive enhancement
shorten or remove the windshield for aero, then have a cover over the passenger side for the air to pass over
for the seat belt mounts, my bolts didn't line up either. I used a c clamp to pull the bar to the tower. works great!

Not sure of the rules at your tracks over the pond, but be sure you fit under the bar with a helmet on. The "broomstick test", as it be known. Safety first and great job guys. The whole time watching you I was cursing wanting to tell you about the roll bar bolts, gotta do a web search man, many people have been where you all were.

Make sure the top mounting point for the harnesses are higher then your shoulder othervise you can suffer severe injuries in crash because it makes your spine compress.
8:50 using thread locking compound after tightening a nut onto a bolt (on the protruding thread) is a certified application of the product advised by the manufacture..

I'm 14 right now. Next year, i'm going to buy a crashed miata (2km/h against wall), rebuild it until i'm 18. Because i saw the first lart of the series and since i saw it, i❤️miatas
With new tail and headlights and a hard top Phil would be an amazing machine. (Not that he isn't already badass!)

+BF4_Legion Depends on how many bricks you put into the suitcase before strapping it to the boot rack.
Always got to prepare your vehicle properly, that's for sure.

you were wrong about the loctite from inspection, from the green label it did look like wick in loctite which can actually be used after the bolt is tight, the loctite works its way up the thread onto the nut

it depends what number loctite it is, i cant personally read it with potato quality and internet, if it is 290 or 291 it is a wick in, but yeah i may be wrong not sure of the number
actually you CAN add the green thread lock to stuff that are already fastened.
It took me 6 hours to do it on my old miata, and then I found out I was too tall to make it work even sitting on the floor.... Booo. Super fun car though. Now I've moved on to track prepping an E36 M3!
Have you considered forced induction either super charging or turbo charging? A nicely worn in engine is perfect for forced induction so long as you do not get crazy with the boost. In the USA taking junkyard V8's with 50,000-100,000 miles and adding Chinese made turbo kits is pretty popular. No reason that the same idea can not be applied to smaller stock engines in Europe an engine is an engine!

It took me arround 6h to install my rollbar in my miata.. (For my defense ,my roll bar was slightly bigger than yours in the seat belt corners)
I was SO nervous when they were throwing the roll bar

If so Mia is his identical twin. Except that she has leather upholstery - which is a really stupid idea in 40°C French summer. She's French registered now but was originaly N125 EKP. They were probably on the production line in Hiroshima at the same time

You bolted it on? Those bolts are going to shear off on first roll.
also why didnt you just notch out the slot where the bolt for the seat belts goes through to be able to bolt it down straight so it doesnt cross thread?

Shouldn't a harness be fitted to a proper race seat built to take the added strain?

I had the same problem with the Hard bar install!!! Should have been a half hour job! Seat belt bolt holes both had to be tapped on the passenger side. I am literally editing my rollbar install video as I'm watching this. Copy cat much Alex? :P

new to the channel, I know this is old but I'm gonna say it anyhow. just my opinion but that luggage rack is hideous, but it's your car and the only thing that matters is that you like it.
