beautiful blade, but It think you should have gone the Full Tang path, because the Santoku design is blade heavy to begin with and it needs more weight on the handle to increase balance. Also a full tang configuration is more robust and adds "life time" to the blade.

It's an oilstone...Use it by attaching it as a superglue.

I used a little weighty Ebony for the weight balance and made the handle a little longer...^^
