    The best tutorial on flares I have ever seen

    4 weeks since this was uploaded and only has 402 views... That's unfair. I've not seen a video tutorial for breakdancing with this much thorough information. It's clear, it's concise and it's to the point. This is excellent presentation! You've done your due diligence and you have the experience, that's another thing I appreciate so I know you're a very credible source. The way this video is structured so neatly and ordered is very satisfying to watch and good for rewatching multiple times. This is level of quality that you don't see in more popular videos on the site. You're a stark example of hidden treasure because your videos are gems with barely any recognition. You don't have a commensurate amount of praise for the effort you placed in this video. I really respect that and the fact you've been uploading for well over a decade now still regardless.
    I'll be watching from here on out :) ...Much love

      Thanks, some days I feel like its not worth doing this stuff, but I make the videos because there is probably some younger version of that would want this available. I had to learn it on my own and it sucked.

      @@theBreakdancingNinja i started learning flares 10 years ago and the furthest i got was the 3rd rotation, not high enough at the back. i walked away from bboying for a few years and am just recently getting back into it. im definitely more analytical and interested in the scientific break-down of the physical movements within moves this time round. from the titles of your other videos, i thought u were just a gymnastic nerd. turns out you're an OG who's been doing this since the late 90s and this is the single best flare tutorial i've ever seen throughout the years

    I am an old school Bboy and been breaking since 81. I even auditioned for the movie "Beat Street". Every year or so, I do some windmills just to see if I still can. I have always wanted to do Flares. Never knew how. I am now 57, and I was recently sick as a dog. I had a bout of Cholera. I have decided to get back in shape by way of breakin. And your videos are a source of relief for me. Thank you.

    You're a true warrior, much respect. And thank you so much for your awesome videos and tutorials over the years. I've finally got a good windmill, and also learned a pretty good 1 leg swipe recently, so I've gained some power move confidence. I wasn't going to pursue flares, but with the help of your awesome video I think I will. I turned 40 just over a month ago. But with your smart training approach, I feel I can give it a good shot. Thanks again. Love your work, and all the best for life, breaking and training.

    There are many decent flare tutorials on UA-cam but this is the best I've ever seen.
    Surprised to learn that flare machines are useful. I alway thought they were just a gimmick.

    • @theBreakdancingNinja
      @theBreakdancingNinja  3 роки тому +1

      If you just started flare training, a flare machine won't help you. You still need strength and some idea of the technique. If you have some basics down a flare machine will save you lots of time. You can start double leg circle training on day one of flare training if you are athletic.

      @@theBreakdancingNinja appreciate the response! I trained flare 12 year ago and used to be able to do multiple crappy ones. Now I'm picking it up again in my 30s. I spend most of my time conditioning and stretching, and only carefully throw a single flare from time to time in fear of injury (I have a weak wrist due to previous injuries). If the flare machine can help me practice the techniques with reduced risk of injury, then it's definitely appealing.
