      Yeah, I agree I have been trying to get flares down for about two years now and has been a struggle. I find the hip movements the most difficult. My hamstrings are also pretty tight. I think that the exercises and stretches included in the tips section will be really helpful Improving both of these and finally have a suave flare. Thanks :)

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  8 років тому

      Yeah man I hear you it can be a long ass process, especially since you have been training it so long though you gotta get yourself out of your bad habits! train you ass off and train it right keep trying new approaches to it.

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  9 років тому +1

      +BigBuckBunny90 Depends how hard they train but I'd say to get it to atleast my level around 6 months of dedicated practice.

    • @bigbuckbunny9073
      @bigbuckbunny9073 9 років тому

      Wow, 6months is pretty short period to be at such level. spent 30 min yesterday trying to catch up with your instructions but i couldn't do more because my wrist joints started to hurt, i know it shouldn't hurt when done properly but it gotta take time.

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  9 років тому +2

      Well remember these movements are advanced brotha! So you need to condition your wrists as you're doing these movements.
      Here's a link of some of the best conditioning exercises on youtube that I also do, check it out.

  • @freddytayam
    @freddytayam 9 років тому +2

    Hey bboy magneto, excellent tutorial bro. EXTREMELY Helpful. I love how you really go into depth. Do you have any advice for heavier guys? I'm 6'0 240 pounds, and I've been trying to get a full flare for about a year, but I dont really know why I somewhat flop when I switch hands from the initial kick

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  9 років тому +1

      +freddytayam Hey homie!! I hear you on the height just not on the weight haha ! I'm 6'1 but I'm pretty skinny.... But anyways on the holding yourself tip really do the shittttt out of the drills that I do at the end as those should help you for sure with learning how to support your weight in those positions (when in motion) apart from that try placing your second hand down faster and kicking with your opposite leg Harder into that sideways plank position. Also if you have a gymnastics gym around your house anywhere and they have a "Mushroom" which is basically a stand that looks like a mushroom and you can usually put your feet into a bucket and then do Virgin flares on it which will help you understand your hand placement. IF you cant do that you can ask one of your friends to hold your legs while you practice switching your hands LOL (Ghetto style) hope that helps brotha good luck! keep me posted.

    • @freddytayam
      @freddytayam 9 років тому

      I'll keep you posted man! I think the problem is that the poeple who would teach me the flare couldn't do continuous flares themselves, so it's been a hit and miss trial and error, and now my body just doesn't know what to do once I get to the left side, hmm...

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  9 років тому +1

      When in doubt forget everything you've been taught and try a completely different method! sometimes when you're so messed up the only way to go forwards is to go all the way to the beginning first brotha! keep it up you got this.

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  7 років тому +1

      It all depends what your goals are my friend! if you want to be a bboy/bgirl I suggest getting comfortable with all your basic freezes before advancing into power, if you're just someone who loves all forms of movement I don't see anything wrong with starting right away just make sure you stretch and condition properly.

      A very strong coffee grinder/sweep but mostly just have an understanding of how to kick your legs and move your weight around nothing is technically necessary.

    My shoulders are very weak to hold my body when the flare is on the back! I can't even tuck planche! Some tips? Will this make me not learn it?

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  9 років тому +2

      +Pedro Netto Practice the drills I do at the end until you're strong enough as well as doing Military style push ups ( Push ups where you're leaning over your arms, and your elbows are tucked into your sides) will help you get stronger for them ! You do need a certain level of strength to be able to flare for sure.

    I need help, my flare is very high in the front but if i want to go to the back my right leg is sliding over the ground (i spin counter clockwise) but i push my other leg very high.

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  8 років тому

      Go back to the drills in my video and make your flare lower, the higher it is in the front the harder it is to control in the back practice the drills I teach in this video and that should help you out, keep sliding your first leg along the ground and practice going from a coffee grinder (sweep) into flares so that you're just focusing on the back part of your flare.

    I just started to practice for flares and I'm wondering how long do you recommend to hold each side planches and the back of the flare?

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  8 років тому

      If you're doing it as a workout I suggest doing 3 sets of holding until you can't anymore.

    Yo B-Boy Magneto...
    I already can do the first sweep of Flare as in I only can do one round of Flare. But still, I don't really know how to continue into the second then to the third and so on. Everytime I try to go into the second round of Flare, I always drop like one and a half Flare. Please help..

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  8 років тому

      Start practicing going into flares from a coffee grinder or from a swipe (w freeze) position so that you train the backend of the flare this will help you get used to going for multiple.

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  8 років тому

      Think of it this way if you were to kick as high as you can on either side of your body whats the natural thing to do and what gives you the most power? try that and then that is what you should do !

    how long did u take to get 1 flare with this method?

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  8 років тому

      +Jamesthelynx David I trained flares for a while before I found this method, this method is just what catapulted me from barely doing 1 flare to being able to have multiple (decent flares)

    • @jamesdavid4115

      how long did it take u to complete multiple flares then?

    • @MagnusMagneto
      @MagnusMagneto  8 років тому

      I never really kept track homie, too be honest it's just a move that slowly developed, I could do multiple probably after about 3 months but It took another year or so before I had them looking like this.

      +Rishab Yamdagni Not really it just means that when you started im assuming you were super comfortable with handstands already and thats just what came most naturally I'd have to see a video to tell you for sure though!
