I'd say I've watched almost every flare tutorial throughout the years on UA-cam, but this.... this is what I've been searching for, the strengthening tips at the end are a blessing! cheers lad
I literally finally got thems in an hour. I’m excited to train thems more and more...such an amazing move to do and much more fun than Windmills. Thank you so much honestly. I’m looking forward to try your pther tutorials ! Cheees from Quebec !
Yeah, I agree I have been trying to get flares down for about two years now and has been a struggle. I find the hip movements the most difficult. My hamstrings are also pretty tight. I think that the exercises and stretches included in the tips section will be really helpful Improving both of these and finally have a suave flare. Thanks :)
Yeah man I hear you it can be a long ass process, especially since you have been training it so long though you gotta get yourself out of your bad habits! train you ass off and train it right keep trying new approaches to it.
dude...i've been looking for a good flare tutorial for YEARS... none have been as detailed as yours... I actually understand what I need to do a lot better now, thanks for the tips!
James Orbe still working on them. It will take time but at least I have something to work towards. Pretty sure I need to be more flexible, I think that makes a difference, so I need to condition myself to do splits first
Nice tutorial! When I started learning flares it was difficult to do more than two when you focus on one point, and then I tried to do it like 3 steps. It really helped me! =)
+T S Ravikiran Thank you so much! I'm thankful to even have 3000 subs! I'd way rather have a quality student base then a shit ton of people who don't really care, so im thankful!
Yoo, don't know if you remember but I was the dude at IBE who was eating pasta and said I had just been watching one of your videos that morning! lolll, really awesome channel man, every single video I have watched has really helped me in a lot of ways!
+Julian Mann I remember homie! LOL Happy to have you here man. I'm stoked that you're finding my videos useful! hopefully we will see each other again one day!
I'm gonna have to try this way, I spent 3 months this summer trying to learn flares to no avail. Now that I'm in a place with a mirror it might be easier to troubleshoot this move
Just what I was looking for. The best tutorial Ive come across. The strength moves at the end are a big help and good way to practice. This along with windmills are my fitness #Goals this year.
Helll yessss that warms my heart to hear fam flares never worked for me until my teacher taught it to me this way super happy it works for other people too!
Wow, 6months is pretty short period to be at such level. spent 30 min yesterday trying to catch up with your instructions but i couldn't do more because my wrist joints started to hurt, i know it shouldn't hurt when done properly but it gotta take time.
Well remember these movements are advanced brotha! So you need to condition your wrists as you're doing these movements. Here's a link of some of the best conditioning exercises on youtube that I also do, check it out. ( ua-cam.com/video/R0STzPIVFnU/v-deo.html )
can you check my flares out in my videos. i can do them..but i cant get the sides right..and something seems of in my rotation..im still struggeling with this move after so many years trying it. somones told me i need to learn the planch. but i feel its my side and rotaiton im doing slightly incorrect and just needs to change somehow..i dunno how though
It depends on how bad you want it.Each person learn in a different speed,I learned it in like a year, trainning just weekends some minutes,I bet you can learn in just a few months or who knows,weeks...(Sorry about my bad English xD)
Hey bboy magneto, excellent tutorial bro. EXTREMELY Helpful. I love how you really go into depth. Do you have any advice for heavier guys? I'm 6'0 240 pounds, and I've been trying to get a full flare for about a year, but I dont really know why I somewhat flop when I switch hands from the initial kick
+freddytayam Hey homie!! I hear you on the height just not on the weight haha ! I'm 6'1 but I'm pretty skinny.... But anyways on the holding yourself tip really do the shittttt out of the drills that I do at the end as those should help you for sure with learning how to support your weight in those positions (when in motion) apart from that try placing your second hand down faster and kicking with your opposite leg Harder into that sideways plank position. Also if you have a gymnastics gym around your house anywhere and they have a "Mushroom" which is basically a stand that looks like a mushroom and you can usually put your feet into a bucket and then do Virgin flares on it which will help you understand your hand placement. IF you cant do that you can ask one of your friends to hold your legs while you practice switching your hands LOL (Ghetto style) hope that helps brotha good luck! keep me posted.
I'll keep you posted man! I think the problem is that the poeple who would teach me the flare couldn't do continuous flares themselves, so it's been a hit and miss trial and error, and now my body just doesn't know what to do once I get to the left side, hmm...
When in doubt forget everything you've been taught and try a completely different method! sometimes when you're so messed up the only way to go forwards is to go all the way to the beginning first brotha! keep it up you got this.
Really helpful one of the best tutorial si far, i'm almost at it but I think my entrance is soo bad that's why i can't get it any tip for thé entrance? 😔
Yep found that it worked perfectly im getting m'y first flare with legs almost straight im training hard since a week, now im just struggling either kicking Up or putting m'y hands the right place but it's only matter of training, thanks for your help !!
Incredible! Super stoked to hear that it's work for you my friend! just keep adjusting to what works keep me updated excited to hear your progressions :)
Hey magneto wanna your next tutorial in the future should be bboy sets like the ideas of making sets from beginning to end. That would really help me alot
This looks amazing. I'd like to ask, when is the right time to practice these kind of power moves? I started breakdancing 3 days ago, learning some basic stuff and I already managed to make all my muscles stiff..
It all depends what your goals are my friend! if you want to be a bboy/bgirl I suggest getting comfortable with all your basic freezes before advancing into power, if you're just someone who loves all forms of movement I don't see anything wrong with starting right away just make sure you stretch and condition properly.
Vincent Felisco try both whichever is easier should be the way you go bahaha also helps if it's the same direction as your footwork if you start your 6 step the same way you start your flare then it's the same direction
A very strong coffee grinder/sweep but mostly just have an understanding of how to kick your legs and move your weight around nothing is technically necessary.
+Pedro Netto Practice the drills I do at the end until you're strong enough as well as doing Military style push ups ( Push ups where you're leaning over your arms, and your elbows are tucked into your sides) will help you get stronger for them ! You do need a certain level of strength to be able to flare for sure.
Are you asking how long it took me to learn, well I'm still learning how to do it better haha but It took a solidddddd like 3-5 years of non-consistent practice.
I need help, my flare is very high in the front but if i want to go to the back my right leg is sliding over the ground (i spin counter clockwise) but i push my other leg very high.
Go back to the drills in my video and make your flare lower, the higher it is in the front the harder it is to control in the back practice the drills I teach in this video and that should help you out, keep sliding your first leg along the ground and practice going from a coffee grinder (sweep) into flares so that you're just focusing on the back part of your flare.
Prakash Sunami theirs no answer for it brotha the reality is the more you train the better you get so the answer is always the more the better without injury
@@MagnusMagneto Thanks for replying..,i somehow do one round, but unable to complete the whole...and sometimes i dont even want to touch the ground :( i dnt know why..?my whole mind and body dont want me to do it😡...but ill try my best to master it..
Yo B-Boy Magneto... I already can do the first sweep of Flare as in I only can do one round of Flare. But still, I don't really know how to continue into the second then to the third and so on. Everytime I try to go into the second round of Flare, I always drop like one and a half Flare. Please help..
Start practicing going into flares from a coffee grinder or from a swipe (w freeze) position so that you train the backend of the flare this will help you get used to going for multiple.
Nice tutorial man, how long have you been training to do those clean flares? Could you also have a look on my vid on my channel to give some advise? I appreciate that! Thx
Think of it this way if you were to kick as high as you can on either side of your body whats the natural thing to do and what gives you the most power? try that and then that is what you should do !
+Jamesthelynx David I trained flares for a while before I found this method, this method is just what catapulted me from barely doing 1 flare to being able to have multiple (decent flares)
I never really kept track homie, too be honest it's just a move that slowly developed, I could do multiple probably after about 3 months but It took another year or so before I had them looking like this.
+Rishab Yamdagni Not really it just means that when you started im assuming you were super comfortable with handstands already and thats just what came most naturally I'd have to see a video to tell you for sure though!
+Pretzel Zotikos In my city? we all pretty much know eachother so it's not hard too. In your city? I'd suggest going on some facebook groups or discussion forms and asking if anyone is in your area. Goodluck bro peace!
In my opinion these tutorials are much better than most of the tutorials on UA-cam where they barely explain anything.Keep up the good work man.
+Rishab Yamdagni Thank you homie thats what I try to do ! always try to break down stuff to a science :)
I'd say I've watched almost every flare tutorial throughout the years on UA-cam, but this.... this is what I've been searching for, the strengthening tips at the end are a blessing! cheers lad

Hey man could you please give me some advice on the vid on my channel. I appreciate that!
Bro you don't need any advice your flares are cleaner then mine LOL
I wants to know that before knowing flare what other moves are neccesary to be there in my body
A very strong coffee grinder/sweep but mostly just have an understanding of how to kick your legs and move your weight around nothing is technically necessary.
My shoulders are very weak to hold my body when the flare is on the back! I can't even tuck planche! Some tips? Will this make me not learn it?
+Pedro Netto Practice the drills I do at the end until you're strong enough as well as doing Military style push ups ( Push ups where you're leaning over your arms, and your elbows are tucked into your sides) will help you get stronger for them ! You do need a certain level of strength to be able to flare for sure.

I don't bro I don't focus on my toes I focus on my legs kicking !
+BboyMagneto Good tip. Although, I was curious whether you point your toes back or forward to here your take on it.
Think of it this way if you were to kick as high as you can on either side of your body whats the natural thing to do and what gives you the most power? try that and then that is what you should do !
